Maybe he expect to get to make a 4 film quickly and he could just keep expanding on these little towns and cities like bartertown that keep popping up.

The setting is a big part of what I like about it. It's unique, more of a "dystopia on the edge of apocalypse" vibe
Yeah, I love how it's still society, but you can see how that setting could with a little push become what you see in Road Warrior
It's more of a "rural community gets invaded by punks and one man has had enough" movie.

I'm going Fury Road, Road Warrior, Furiosa, Mad Max, Thunderdome. Like anything else I'm sure this will change depending on the day.

When I see rankings like this I always wonder where people would put the first half of Beyond the Thunder Dome if it was a separated movie.
Mad Max was inferior to all except Thunderdome. I'd go: 1. Road Warrior 2. Fury Road 3. Furiosa 4. Mad Max 5. Thunderdome

Only Fury Road and Road Warrior are exceptional films. The rest are just there. They can be appreciated but they aren't on the same level of quality.
