I wonder how this started, it's so sweet
Edit: I keep seeing a lot of comments or replies here bringing up stuff like police brutality sort of issues or implying stuff like gun violence or things along those lines, especially comparing it to stuff in the US, and while those are important issues, this is just a cute video and I dont think it's even in the US so like... idk can we just chill? I haven't used reddit a ton so it might just be how stuff is here but I don't really see the reason for all the doom and gloom I guess? Let's just appreciate an older lady and a store employee having some harmless fun
I’m sure back in the day he attempted to rob her on the streets and she rolled him to the ground and pressed her sewing needle ball to his throat until the police arrived. Sending him to juvenile detention. Later on after a felony fueled life he could only find work at a grocery store where she ended up running into him,and being a grandma had a few dollar store water guns for the grand baby’s. She was so scared she pointed the gun at him but him being a produce worker grabbed his scanner and pointed at her creating the events we see now. Aren’t old ladies the best?
Reminds me of when we found granny in her garage, laying on the floor yelling for help cuz she wanted to try and see of she could still jump rope at age 77.
1 broken hip later says she cannot jump rope anymore, but she sure figured it would be alright lol.
Gotta give it to Reddit to let me see a comment on the Gom Jabbar the day after I start reading Dune. Literally wouldn’t have a damn clue what you were talking about if I read this comment yesterday.

You just frequency illusioned me about frequency illusion. Me and my son were just talking 2 days ago about all the things that have done that to us and we couldn't remember the term and now here I am on Reddit and Boom out of nowhere here's my answer.
In many countries it would be very unlikely that something bad happens. And at least the name Pampelmousse doesn't sound US American, I think its called pomelo in english?
Green grocers exist in the US but you typically would only see them in a really crowded urban area where their isn't as much space for a full supermarket. They're not unusual in NYC, for example but suburban areas would have no use for them. At most there might be a weekly farmer's market in the area.
I used to believe that, but not I'm not so sure. Things went from "not going to happen" to "less likely, but we want to reserve the right to blast for no reason"

So he probably knows what day of the week she’ll be there.

Also the store manager must be a decent person to let this happen. I got reprimanded multiple times working at a store just for talking to customers about anything other than where foods are.
Is that the one that comes with like 3 other guns? I remember seeing one once that had the long distance shot, a small handgun hidden in the stock and a missile launcher.
sort of. The guy in the clip has all two sections assembled, the front barrel is a removable pistol. https://webimg.secondhandapp.com/1.1/5c6ae779102cad35c9f487bc
Yea =(
At my old Best Buy job we had a regular who was OLD old. Dude was over 90 and looked it but he kept up with technology and could actually speak about the hardware and software in there, not just use it. Detailed technical knowledge on it all. But that was his passion in retirement and he had the money to come in and always get the latest and greatest. New iPad launch? He's there that week. Windows 8 launch? He's in with his high end computer to get it upgraded to 8.
You get the idea.
Everyone knew him, everyone talked to him, (I drank a lot back then and can't remember his name anymore though) and everyone enjoyed his company.
So when there was a big new iPad launch and he didn't show up, we were a bit worried. Another week, more worry. Finally his daughter comes in to purchase the iPad for him, and let's us know he took a sudden unexpected turn for the worse and was in the hospital. Store got together and signed a card for him real quick, anyone who was there that day.
He eventually returned to the store months later but he looked like a mummy by then and really struggled to move and even breath. Visiting the store was a huge toll on him clearly. He came in a few more times over the next 2 years or so but most of that time he couldn't even muster the energy and breath to have his long tech conversations and such anymore, sadly.
Not too long later he took another turn for the worse and passed. His son and daughter both came in to inform us. Sad day, but at least we knew.
My grandpa is 88 and he takes technology classes and excel, windows, mobile development classes at the local community college to stay active and with the times.
It was always a joy to get into a serious tech conversation with someone who you completely didn't expect to know anything about the topic. I'd often get too carried away though and ruin my sales numbers for the day from talking too long with someone though lol.
> my old Best Buy job
> I drank a lot back then
Yup that checks out. I remember those 630am mandatory morning meetings and having fucking morning games to get people "pumped up" before the shift. Fuck. That. Some good people, some good regulars like your story, but for some reason I mostly only remember people like the guy who insisted on haggling for the price of Gladiator on DVD.
I even drank *at* work lol. I was already drunk for those 630 meetings usually. Nobody could tell because they didn't really know non drunk me. Alcoholism is no fun, thankfully I don't do that anymore.
Hagglers were the worst though. Idk why they think you can go into a retail store and try to haggle on a dry Macbook with no extras like it's a street vendor or a farmers market. Buy a several thousand dollar TV and a grand in services, and then we can reasonably haggle a bit. I totally did have a few people try to haggle on DVDs though too lol.
It was sad turn of event but he has great memories with his friends and know they cared for him. Don't think of him as being too weak in his final days, think of him as despite his deteriorated health he still want to hang out with you guys.
I found out online that someone famous had cancer. It spread. That famous person I knew lived in the area. I would see her around. She would walk her dog and bring him to the dog parks. After a while, I saw her dog with another woman. I didn't spot her walking around as much. I kept thinking she has a ticking bomb. I'm not going to spot her at some point. When I stopped seeing her, I started getting scared. Then it came out that she died months later. There is a void in the area not to see her.
See I have a similar one. I worked at tesco 10 years ago and every week this absolute angel of an old woman would come in. She would buy a few items and a full carton of cigarette packs to last her until her next trip.
There was a day she came back to us not long after leaving and her face was bloodied up. Some absolute monster had followed her into her flat, beat the shit out of her and stole her handbag off her. She had no idea what to do so she came back into us for help.
Police unfortunately never got whoever done it but we helped her contact her bank to get her cards cancelled and replaced. We gave her the stores phone number and told her to call ahead when she was coming down so one of us could run out to meet her at her door (she only lived across the road and down a bit from the shop) and we would walk her back home after she'd gotten her things too.
One week she stopped calling us and we were really worried about her but although we knew where her flat was we didn't know which number she lived at to go see if she was OK. A few weeks after her 1st missing call her son came in, we only knew it was him because whoever served him saw how many cigarettes he was buying and that they were her brand. She had taken a bad turn and he moved back from England temporarily to look after her.
I left that job not long after that so no idea if she recovered but when I occasionally think back about her I tell myself she recovered and still goes in for those cigarettes now even though I know it's most likely not the case
As much as that makes my heart sore from reading; I really enjoy knowing there was an extremely high likelihood his motivation to continue enjoying his tech-geek passions literally kept the life in his body by sheer force of will for quite some time just so he could enjoy a bit more of a rare thing to find in life: A passionate love for something that has a unilaterally literal pureness to it, whether as a ravaged husk of a man or otherwise.
You call that dark? I'll show you dark.
Imagine if dementia takes hold first, then she comes in to the store with a loaded hand gun and blasts her stand up partner before she's carted off to a home.
I work in a grocery story in a moderately elderly area. Increasingly myself and other workers will drop a "have you seen that customer so and so?" Not knowing each individual's name doesn't help, but every now and then one of their pictures will pop up in an obituary. It's a bummer but that's how the (end of) life works.
What a relief to know I’m not the only one that saw corn dogs. I rewatched it 3 times and saw the same thing… until I came to the comments section. As a produce worker, carrots make SO much more sense, but for dogs would’ve been hilarious, too😆
Look! The humans are playing! They’re really not so different from us, you know.
Seriously though, play isn’t what makes us human, it’s what makes us alive
it'll be sad when she doesn't come back anymore. Bet he would bring the Nerf to her funeral just for lady to open the coffin and aims at him with her little gun.
Someone always has to comment the sadness because every Pixar movie did it first. Without getting too deep, I think that remembering the sad bits of life are some peoples’ way of reminding themselves to “just enjoy the moment” (because eventually it all ends)
But you hit the *real* twist:
granny comes in next week and 25 year old dude isn’t there… he died in a car accident over the weekend.
Damn dude, she's an active granny that still shops for her own groceries, she's not circling the grave. He'll likely leave that job long before she passes away.
I forgot what subreddit this is at first, so I was totally expecting a Karen-esque situation. So happy to see it's the complete opposite! Very wholesome and cute.
I have seen the still images and shorts with just the dual wielding bananas, hoping it was an on going thing, and now I'm happy to learn it is. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely the guy at least. Looks vaguely ethnic, possibly middle eastern, so all it takes is for some nosy customer to notice the vest, think it’s real and call the cops
What makes me laugh the most is the fact that the lady carries a nerf gun the next time after the employee showed her a nerf gun of his. It just shows she really puts thoughts into it.
I wonder how this started, it's so sweet Edit: I keep seeing a lot of comments or replies here bringing up stuff like police brutality sort of issues or implying stuff like gun violence or things along those lines, especially comparing it to stuff in the US, and while those are important issues, this is just a cute video and I dont think it's even in the US so like... idk can we just chill? The first sentence absolutely fucked me 😂
The body only got aged but, the memory of childhood will be remember forever and can't never been erase granny youthful is still fresh.
Tell that to my grandma 🤕

Probably with the old lady saying 'I swear I thought it was a toy gun...!'

Likely with a police office shooting both of them because he saw the standoff and was afraid for his life.

Ya so sweet.. Until one day a trigger happy cop thinks the granny has a real gun and decides to blast her.
I’m more concerned about the worker with that suicide vest. I’m so scared this going to end badly.
In many countries it would be very unlikely that something bad happens. And at least the name Pampelmousse doesn't sound US American, I think its called pomelo in english?
Pamplemousse is French for grapefruit
She's an old white lady. That's not going to happen.
This also doesn't seem like it's in the US.
Yeah, the guy's vest says "Pamplemousse" which doesn't seem like a terribly likely name for a US greengrocer's. If they even have those in the US?
Green grocers exist in the US but you typically would only see them in a really crowded urban area where their isn't as much space for a full supermarket. Is that bread in the vest. Seriously, creative & genius!!
Gonna go with carrots, given he works in fresh produce!
My first thought was corn dogs, but that'd be an oily mess...
That was super funny! Is it just me or did the vest look like it was holding corn dogs!
I thought corn dogs too!
Wait a second, that’s not a bomb. Those are hot dogs! Armor hot dogs!!
What kind of man wears Armor hot dogs?!

*coworker sees his taping carrots to his chest in the breakroom* “Hey Mark, what are doing?” “It….It’d take to long to explain.”
I honestly thought they were corn dogs… Thanks for clearing that up for me
What a relief to know I’m not the only one that saw corn dogs. I rewatched it 3 times and saw the same thing… until I came to the comments section. As a produce worker, carrots make SO much more sense, but for dogs would’ve been hilarious, too😆
That's adorable
"Shame about Dolores getting shot that day Kevin was out."
#dontdothisintexas
Ok to do this in Texas as long as you stop within 40 minutes
Sometimes adults turn into children and it is a wonderful thing
Adults are just children forced to hide their nature by society
its sad thats true
Look! The humans are playing! They’re really not so different from us, you know. Seriously though, play isn’t what makes us human, it’s what makes us alive
omg this is so cute🥺
Is no one noticing her pocketing an item when she drew the gun the first time? She's obviously there to rob the place!
I noticed that peanut thievery!
she has a little tiny water pistol and the dude just pulls out basically a bfg9000 and says try it granny
Yea but she learns and next time she packin.
it'll be sad when she doesn't come back anymore. Bet he would bring the Nerf to her funeral just for lady to open the coffin and aims at him with her little gun.

Someone always has to comment the sadness because every Pixar movie did it first. Without getting too deep, I think that remembering the sad bits of life are some peoples’ way of reminding themselves to “just enjoy the moment” (because eventually it all ends) But you hit the *real* twist: granny comes in next week and 25 year old dude isn’t there… he died in a car accident over the weekend.
Damn dude, she's an active granny that still shops for her own groceries, she's not circling the grave. He'll likely leave that job long before she passes away.
Love that’s he was ready for it, prepared with bananas in his pockets 😂🤗
That store aint big enough for the both of em.
Imagine someone glimpses his vest on the bus to work 💀🤣
Love the early days of terrorism, seemed so harmless

I forgot what subreddit this is at first, so I was totally expecting a Karen-esque situation. So happy to see it's the complete opposite! Very wholesome and cute.
The suicide weiner vest tho 😭😂
carrots lol
Ohhh makes sense lmao
Damn, that was like an eight Kt bomb vest. 😳
How 2 download this I want 2 show my grandma pls
Doesn’t Reddit have a save video bot?
yes it’s u/ savevideo
I have seen the still images and shorts with just the dual wielding bananas, hoping it was an on going thing, and now I'm happy to learn it is. Thanks for sharing.
At the first video i could not tell it was a blue squirt gun at first and i was honestly a bit terrified for a second there.
Who TF brings bananas to a gun fight?!
This is not in America, you can tell because both those ppl weren’t shot
Extraodinary
The only time I chuckled at someone wearing a bomb.
She's just leading up to when she's actually going to shoot up the grocery store.. the master plan
Shit i wanna be fun when im old. So cute
If this was America she’d get shot
A carrot based suicide vest is a wild way to Up the ante 😅
I wonder how this started, love seeing people with an age gap becoming friends and getting along so well, its amazing!!

They both get shot by police
Definitely the guy at least. Looks vaguely ethnic, possibly middle eastern, so all it takes is for some nosy customer to notice the vest, think it’s real and call the cops
Lol! Someone make them famous and get them a TV show.

That is a gorgeous produce department…the quality of this man’s character shines through in his deeds.
lol this is sweet
More of these women less of the Karen’s
Dude just keeps escalating.
It’s all fun and games until that one day she waltz’s in with a shoulder slung m134d
Don’t do this in America.
He pulled out the Carrot bomb vest lol like there was no winning that stick up
That man is marriage material.
The corn dog bomb vest got me good.
I like how he upgraded to a full on assault rifle to her dinky little pistol and she comes back the next time with a bigger gun to see what's up.
That's awesome! Need more humanity in today's world.
That’s fucking adorable
What makes me laugh the most is the fact that the lady carries a nerf gun the next time after the employee showed her a nerf gun of his. It just shows she really puts thoughts into it.
