Interesting how different tattoo allergies can be. I have an allergy too but mine never looked like this. It turned out quite [well](https://imgur.com/a/cF0IqG3). I just can never scratch my back now without being extremely itchy everywhere
probably but im also the type of person to bite dry skin off the tips of my fingers until they bleed, so i think iid probably just end up doing it anyways lol
I saved the original post the day he went to the ER to try and get an update. Let me see if I can find it.
Edit: here's the update https://www.reddit.com/r/tattooadvice/s/mGnsrCgTFm
this is within two days of the tattoo though, if it has gotten infected this badly within two days? that’s most definitely from some shady shit the shop is doing, not the client
Yeah true, it’s very possible thats the shop fault, but why would he be the only one to get infected? Maybe its a shitty home studio? Maybe its really a shitty ink or he just allergic to it? Really hard to know what caused it, but to get something like that if more that the needle or dirty gloves. I did more that a 150 tattoos from a home studio and have more than 40 on me, none infected so honestly I never had to treat one. My two guest is, did he went to swim in the ocean right after if not its probably the ink
How is it the clients fault, what could he have done to get it infected? They give you a sleeve, he never mentioned said sleeve being broken or dirty or anything
Oooooof- It really shouldn't look like that- I've never had any problems, so, idk if that's an Allergic Reaction or Infection, but either way man, you should go to the hospital-
So why is there no cover on the tatto?
if it’s fresh, the wound is still open and can easily infect! First thing you do after a tatto session is to clean it and put some type of foil on it…
I got my first tattoo a few weeks ago, and it was a breathable plastic covering I was only supposed to use for 2 days max. Would've been nice to get a cover for two weeks, given how much anxiety I had about exactly what OP had happen. I was cleaning and moisturizing that thing 5 times a day.
Worth, though.
That is one nasty infection
Looks like you’re allergic
Abyss has basically been completely rejected, you could peel the letters right off 😩
Right. May also have a risk of an infection, but this looks more like an allergy.

That back tattoo is gorgeous and amazing ! How long did it take to do it ?
‘We’ve Never Seen Anything Like This Before:’ Astrophysicists baffled by black hole spewing out material
i would be so tempted to scrape it off with my fingernails lol
i think the pain he feels prevents that from happening

So I’m not the only one?
Thats a completely different level of pain
I too can't leave a scab alone.
3D tattoos are weird. I don't get the hype behind them.
Um. Go to the doctors office asap my guy
I'd assume he has been, hence the markers to document infection progress/regress?

Yuck, I kinda wanna take a chisel and just scrape it off.
Amputation
You're growing your own mold, dude.
From abyss to abscess
Sometimes I wonder what the people who invented tattoos were thinking
"Damn this goes hard af" - some guy with a needle and ink.
"painted man scary" - some guy with a rock and coal
Humans are tattooing for 5000 years, a very very small portion get infection and in 95% of the case its the client fault

If he put some cream with parfum, went in the ocean, exposed it the the sun, scratched it with dirty fingers…
Someone didn't use fish skin.
I had no idea they made tattoos in Braille
What did they do to you dog
And this is why you don’t pick the cheapest walk in for a tattoo. Poor guy, that looks so painful.
Well, if you were trying for a 3D tattoo, then I guess you succeeded.
3d tattoo0!
damn bro...wtf caused that??
Its my understanding that antibiotics can cause this as well.
Rejoice! Your planet has received the blessings of Grandfather Nurgle. Jokes aside, do get that checked
I smell chaos… time for an inquisition
What would happen if you took a credit card and just scraped all that off. Please do it.
Someone didn't listen to the recommendations from their artist about soap and a&d ointment 🤷♂️
What do the roman numerals mean

You're only supposed to wear that between 4-48 hours, max.
My tatto artist has foil that is breathable, I leave it on for 2 weeks and my tatto is healed
