wth DO YOU MEAN 2 WEEKS?? š°I DONT EVEN HAVE THAT MUCH AND IVE BEEN COLLECTING FOR OVER 5 YEARS
https://preview.redd.it/e2cj5yvza1wc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94b515f916f78144abdbe34d5f59ccfe293f22ea
If they're referencing the Amazon sale I think they are, it's not as expensive as it looks
I got two one piece boxes & the MHA box for ~$260 total, and while a bunch of this stuff wasn't on the buy-two-get-one deal there were still a shitton of box sets at 50% off or so
I don't know if you got dai dark just because it was in the box set, but if you enjoy it, I can't recommend dorohedoro enough. It's by the same author and completed
Iām a huge horror movie guy so anything remotely dark or along those lines Iām def gonna pick up.. After reading about hellsing, thatās the next series I plan on picking up once I read a big chunk of what I have now
Dorohedoro is kind of dark. I also recommend trying oshimi's manga like blood on trucks or flowers of evil. It's not a horror, but it has darker themes.
It's kind of annoying that there aren't many horror manga in English besides junji ito. I have also heard good things about ptsd radio
sometimes i feel bad when I buy more manga despite still having plenty unread at home, and then this sub never fails to make me feel better
seriously tho if you got the money it's your business, have fun reading them
I've been trying to not buy more this month, because some new unreads from January are still piling up, and then I go and buy a whole series (two volumes tbf - Hatsune Miku Future Deliveries) anyway. And read it in one day over the books waiting for 4 months.
It looks like a lot more than it actually is because the box sets are displayed but the books are on the shelves. Probably should reevaluate your spending habits if you are buying that much in two weeks. I also don't know why you reposted this since you made a similar post recently that I remember seeing. Looks like you deleted it....
It's your money though so as long as you're happy and have the funds, you do you.
I did delete it, I honestly forgot I had a huge order in the mail and decided to just start fresh with the posting lol.. Itās not like Iām spending this kind of money every 2 weeks, last time I spent any of my disposable income was maybe 6 months ago
I get it but I figured you never know when they wouldnāt be on sale anymore, instead of buying slowly over the course of a year or 2 Iāll just take a hit to the wallet right now
You brought multiple series that are not at risk of going out of print and regularly go on sale..
Dude, just focus on reading, this feels like you went out and brought everything popular just to flex having a collection, which is pretty meaningless if you havenāt read/have no idea if you will even like them.
You do have mostly super popular series that will always be in print. There will be future sales on these. Probably even better sales before you are caught up on your reading. This is something I definitely learned the hard way. Haha but anyways, welcome to manga! I hope it becomes a lifetime hobby. :)
Sadly, that's not a genre I'm super familiar with. But I'd love to get into! I can recommend Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Toradora!, Komi can't communicate, and Sweat and Soap.
I have the sweat and soap box set with # 2 on the way.. I used to play ranma 1/2 on Super Nintendo when I was a kid and had no idea it had a manga so Iāll def look into that! Thanks again!!
I'm having a great time with *We Never Learn*; cheesy but it's got a good heart
EDIT: Also this isn't a rom-com but buy as many volumes of Akane-Banashi as you can (same with Green Green Greens when those paperbacks come out)
My dress-up darling, Komi can't communicate, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Horimiya, We never learn, My love story!!, Kubo won't let me be invisible, My teenage rom-com snafu, Quintessential quintuplets, The world God only knows.
Some of the Romance/Romantic comedy/Slice of life mangas I've enjoyed.
I have a fully filled retro video game room, games, tube tv and arcades.. A theater room with a 1000 plus Blu-ray collectionā¦ I canāt get into anything else or Iāll be completely out of room šš
Even with the Amazon sales, that's gotta be at least $1000. I hope you don't plan to continue at this rate...
(unless you're loaded). Either way, enjoy
Iāve read the synopsis on everything I bought so Iām pretty sure Iāll be good, but if not itās no biggie.. I have a giant movie collection and donāt like every single movie
If you like Chainsaw Man, I def recommend Fujimoto's previous series, Fire Punch.
If you like Ouran Host Club, check out Yana Toboso's Black Butler, it's darker, but it's got more of the comedy you probably like in Ouran.
If you're a fan of the big shonen series like Dragon Ball and Bleach, One Piece, Demon Slayer, etc., definitely definitely check out Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter, one of my favorite series ever. Might never finish, but what we got is great.
Couple other series I recommend are Witch Hat Atelier and Kowloon Generic Romance, super pretty art in both and they have fun stories with more to them than you might first think, and they're a nice palette cleanser after reading some shonen/seinen material.
Happy collecting!
Lolol. I wonāt knock ya like a lot of people probably will. Definitely a bit overboard but I completely understand wanting to take of a good sale. For your information going forward, box sets are almost always in stock, now that printing has caught back up, and theyāre almost always on sale too through Amazon. The box sets are also typically the hardest to make your money back on if you decided you didnāt like the series because of the fact that theyāre almost always on sale. Rightstuf used to run great sales on non box set series but now itās kind of a toss up since Crunchyroll took over. Amazon runs sales on these books but itās just not as great as the old publisher sales.. especially with the recent increase in prices. Hope that info helps you out a bit. Enjoy the new series and the new hobby!! š¤š»
I work a ton and bought my house years ago for a crazy price which is why I have a decent amount of disposable income, if I was rent a place for a grand a month I woulda been able to buy like maybe 2 volumes and a soda š
I have my Amazon delivery list available if you want homie.. Not that itās a flex on how fast I acquired all this, more on how excited I am to get into something new that I like and how I go off the deep end and on shit
Damn sadly Iām only one week in, but this is insane
https://preview.redd.it/irbzcuycx1wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf9a167f34b64dc85176cb36abe79845ada292b6
I know I know I keep looking at em on Amazon, there priced pretty damn low but after my last order came in I told myself no more for the foreseeable future
So I ordered most from Amazon and a few things from the Crunchyroll store, I took the time to add everything up since I was curious as well.. The total was $1521.36
Iām currently on volume 15 of Promised Neverland and itās pretty good. Iād recommend reading the first 2 volumes of a manga online before dropping money on an entire series.
Bro are you okay? After looking at your profile and seeing your obsession Iām thinking youāre having a manic episode, I have them too and Iāve done exactly this, not to this extent, but Iāve does this with shoes, games, clothes
Iād spend my whole check in 2 days and barely remember it
Iām good lol, I put a certain amount of money away every time I get paid for my hobbies, fun money I guess you could call it.. Havenāt spent any of it in probably 6 months plus I work a lot of overtime.. I looked into and read about each of these sets before I bought them to make sure they sounded interesting to me.. I bought a lot but I was able to afford it and this is it for a very long time, itās not like I planned on buying this much every few weeks.. If I woulda said this is my collection after a year people wouldnāt (or probably wouldnāt) say a thing.. Iāve spend more money at one time on my game room and was completely fine lol
Well itās good youāre alright but itās just so mind bending to me to use that disposable income like that. I come from a childhood where it was nothing to eat sometimes. Even if you had $10000000 I could not imagine spending that much at once on something thatāll take years
Like for example, idk why you donāt buy less at a time and actually read them as you go, what if you hate a series? What if something happened and you lost your job, etc etc I just canāt get over it lol
I completely get where youāre coming from, all this was under 2k and I have friends thatāll spend that on car parts which to me is crazy so I understand.. I just decided to go for it, buy a lot at once and be done until I read through everything.. Then start adding volumes as I go, more like a normal collector if you will lol
Waitā¦.2k? I was thinking a lot more
And yeah Iāve seen my homies drop 3k on a Turbo, for some reason the price was way out of proportion in my brain than what you actually spent
I respect your opinion but what does the size of either of our collections matterā¦ I could have 1 volume or 1000, doesnāt change the fact that I am enjoying reading manga..
People that are pressed about him buying all at once instead of āprioritizing reading them allā must read slow asf, yeah it might take a little bit but you can read all that fairly quickly.
Itās honestly great and all you can spend that on your hobbies, but my guy, this is like 3-5k worth of manga in 2 weeks. As much as I love manga, I could think of so many other things I could do with that kind of money over a longer period of time even, all while slowly growing my collection. Itās kinda reckless and a very slippery slope to fall down in terms of spending addiction. You can afford hobbies, but you also gotta afford to live too lol
They were all almost half off retail which is why I went ape shit lol.. And yea it def wasnāt a small amount of $$, but Iāve been working mandatory overtime every weekend for the past 3 years so why not splurge once in a while
if this is serious you have made me feel so much better, I started watching anime in December and I have bought about 1/10 of what you have here...and I thought I was going overboard haha then again some of the figurines I got were so expensive because they are out of production :(
awesome collection though!
You know this jealousy I feel is stupid. Congrats and welcome to the collecting game. Lol
Edit: What kind of stuff are looking to get into? Super curious.
Thatās exactly what I planned on doing lol, people get way too critical of others.. I make good money, own my own home, no kids so why is it such a shock that someone drops some decent coin on a new venture lol.. Meanwhile they can go pay 30k for a new car and not bat an eye lol
I love this hahaha donāt let the discouragement get to you! Iām pretty sure most of us have been here at one point in our manga journeys (guilty as charged lol) idk why people get so pressed about it, itās your money and if youāre able to and happy to send your money like that then go for it as T Swiftie says haters gonna hate š also keep an eye out for manga on second hand sites sometimes youāll be able to find some really good deals on basically brand new manga!
Thanks! I get the hate since Iām new to the hobby but I work my ass off and wanted to build a decent collection to have access to and enjoy for the next few months/years lol.. I work a stupid amount of ot so I had the money to put all this together.. I posted on here not to flex but to link up with like minded people since none of my friends are into anime/manga.. I figured Reddit would be a good place to learn and have some conversation about my new hobby
yeah, none of my friends are into it either, any other series that youāre thinking of getting/interested in? and honestly i went ott when i first started collecting manga and figures half of which I donāt own anymore šš itās a learning experience
Idk why people in the comments are so obsessed with what you spend your money on. If you like the hobby that much then I see no reason why not to spend a pretty penny if you have the funds. Nice collection, Iād recommend claymore boxset.
āA little overboardā.
Im pretty sure this is more than a little overboard. Im not hating tho, Im a couple weeks into manga and I already have the deathnote box set, tokyo ghoul box set, Akira box set, 1-3 omnibuses of PTSD radio, and have recently finished tekkonkinkreet (and volume 1 of PTSD radio).
Im honestly gonna hold off for now from buying more (looking at Tokyo ghoul RE specifically) since Ive spend quite a bit already (big amazon discounts have been great).
The mindset that I have tho is dangerous for my wallet. āIāll buy a ton now so I can read later, it doesnāt matter how much I spend now since Iāll just read/buy it eventuallyā.
Overall, Looks great!
wth DO YOU MEAN 2 WEEKS?? š°I DONT EVEN HAVE THAT MUCH AND IVE BEEN COLLECTING FOR OVER 5 YEARS https://preview.redd.it/e2cj5yvza1wc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94b515f916f78144abdbe34d5f59ccfe293f22ea

Consumerism disease hit this man like a ton of bricks
Bro is making me feel poor.
Bro made himself poor
Ah shit here we go again, why is it always two weeks
Wanna see my Amazon delivered list šš
I don't know if you got dai dark just because it was in the box set, but if you enjoy it, I can't recommend dorohedoro enough. It's by the same author and completed

Broā¦ Your crazy but I like it haha. Enjoy! I wish I could be reading all these for the first time again!
Is manga becoming the new video game collecting for people who have money to burn?
I have a full on retro video game room too, video game prices have gotten sooo insane plus I have most of what I want
That's amazing dude enjoy it
My mom tells me I spend too much money on manga. I gotta let her see half of these posts on here. Itāll blow her mindš
It looks like a lot more than it actually is because the box sets are displayed but the books are on the shelves. Probably should reevaluate your spending habits if you are buying that much in two weeks. I also don't know why you reposted this since you made a similar post recently that I remember seeing. Bro why would you buy so much, prioritizing reading not buying.
But if they did that, they wouldnāt get the same dopamine hit. OP is allll about that dopamine hit.
I get it but I figured you never know when they wouldnāt be on sale anymore, instead of buying slowly over the course of a year or 2 Iāll just take a hit to the wallet right now
Majority of the series you got have 0 risk of never being on sale anymore
You brought multiple series that are not at risk of going out of print and regularly go on sale.. Do you want sweet romance, supernatural, or toxic? It just depends on your cup of tea. I recommend works by Rei Toma for sure.
Why?
Why wouldnāt you want to prioritize reading over buying unless theyāre just decorative for you or going out of print?
I didnāt know that they are normally on sale, Iāve been reading at home and at work when I have downtime.. Iām obviously new to this shit..
I was not really tryna come at you op more so at the dude I replied to
2 weeks is cool and allā¦ but to have other hobbies and still be able to have space for 2 book shelves is more impressive
I have a fully filled retro video game room, games, tube tv and arcades.. A theater room with a 1000 plus Blu-ray collectionā¦ I canāt get into anything else or Iāll be completely out of room šš
Those stack of bleach boxes look sick
Might be a couple unhaulsā¦
Well there was definitely one unhaul, my wallet š
Nice collection, that feeling you could miss your chance in obtaining is understandable.
Donāt often see a collection thatās basically all box sets, that pretty cool
Even with the Amazon sales, that's gotta be at least $1000. I hope you don't plan to continue at this rate... (unless you're loaded). Either way, enjoy
Yup thatās about right, and hell no Iām def not continuing at this rate lol
Ah yes another post of someone buying every box set on Amazon lol
Yup! lol.. I work a lot so it was an easy option
I did the same thing when I started and still catching up almost a year later ha. I think itās freaking awesome.
Box set stonks š
What if you donāt like these other series?
Iāve read the synopsis on everything I bought so Iām pretty sure Iāll be good, but if not itās no biggie.. I have a giant movie collection and donāt like every single movie
I've been collecting for ten years and your collection is close to mine š bet your mail carrier is fed up lmao
Amazon lockers are a thing of beauty lol
Shoot I wish we had some of those around here. Love my mail lady but if it's raining she'll ram three omnibuses in our little mail box LMAO
Realistically it would be logical to split the collection with me so that yea
Thats too much juice Glenn
If you like Chainsaw Man, I def recommend Fujimoto's previous series, Fire Punch. If you like Ouran Host Club, check out Yana Toboso's Black Butler, it's darker, but it's got more of the comedy you probably like in Ouran. Thanks for all the recommendations!!!
Slow down dude, itās not a race!!! Anything like that can easily turn into an addiction if you donāt control it so slow down!
Lolol. I wonāt knock ya like a lot of people probably will. Definitely a bit overboard but I completely understand wanting to take of a good sale. That should keep you occupied for a little while at least. Full sets are pretty to look at even when not actively being being read. Enjoy!
Bro just casually dropped over a months rent on picture books I'd do the same if I could
I work a ton and bought my house years ago for a crazy price which is why I have a decent amount of disposable income, if I was rent a place for a grand a month I woulda been able to buy like maybe 2 volumes and a soda š
Imma call BS, this is a circlejerk post and/or fake.
I have my Amazon delivery list available if you want homie.. Not that itās a flex on how fast I acquired all this, more on how excited I am to get into something new that I like and how I go off the deep end and on shit
Damn sadly Iām only one week in, but this is insane https://preview.redd.it/irbzcuycx1wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf9a167f34b64dc85176cb36abe79845ada292b6
That setup is dope!! If youāre joking or not I love everything about it.
So are you posting this to show off your collection, or flex your amazon shopping addiction?
I only do my flexing in the gymšŖ
Boxsets galore š³š The silent voice boxset is another one you can pick up
I have that on my Amazon list, thanks for the recommendation!!
Itās wonderful! The movie is also one of my favourites
Why didnāt you buy the next few books in csm if you liked it so much p2 is good af
Iām getting there, went box set crazy obviously
Very nice collection. Insane for two weeks but if you can afford it why not lol
lol damn dude, trying to prevent a recession all on your own? Looks good though *thumbs up*
You should add berserk deluxe editions to that collection. Best Manga ever made imo
I know I know I keep looking at em on Amazon, there priced pretty damn low but after my last order came in I told myself no more for the foreseeable future
That's a shame missing out. But to be fair it's probably a good thing because berserk sets the bar really high lol
If itās okay to ask How much did you invest to collect all of these volumes Thanks in advance Hope you enjoy your collection ā¤ļø
So I ordered most from Amazon and a few things from the Crunchyroll store, I took the time to add everything up since I was curious as well.. The total was $1521.36
You rich or something
Thank God I got a venmo now to save up money to buy more manga and a better bookself.
Holy fuck.
While you're buying box sets buy the Akira Anniversary edition
Eventually lol
Iām currently on volume 15 of Promised Neverland and itās pretty good. Iād recommend reading the first 2 volumes of a manga online before dropping money on an entire series.

I dont see a single Berserk Manga. Youve failed
I know I know, I need to get on that but not now, I also wanna check out hellsing
Hell yeah hellsings great too, have fun reading!!
That's my goal šš
How are those High School of the Dead hardcovers?
Iāve only skimmed through em but there full color so Iām def excited to check em out
Nice small collection. Keep it up!
Thanks!
Very nice collection, but why did you take them out of the box? You'll run out of room lol
I donāt plan on buying anymore until I get through reading most of what I already bought
Haha, you got a few months of reading. I hope you like promised neverland it's one of my favorites.
Get claymore next lol
"Little" "Two weeks" Oh screw you man

nice, I really enjoyed the Alice in borderland live action show, I havenāt read beserk or hellsing tho im more into romance šš
2 weeks to collect all this is CRAZY WORK
