I don't think that's an unpopular opinion. That's how and why the "enemies to lovers" trope works so well.

SeaExplanation1680

I know but some people could say it’s toxic lol and it is lol. Irl I don’t see myself dating anyone who ruins my party lol

Boopsyboo

Right? James went over the top and I don’t see myself ever wanting to be around someone who treated me that way no matter how nice he turned out to be, nor how strong the attraction. Fortunately, this is a tv show, so despite his early physical assaults he somehow became desirable and I’m here for it!

SeaExplanation1680

Right and I also feel like Ruby early on felt attraction for him. In the lacrosse field she definitely felt something. Right before she turns around and leaves she notices him looking at her intensely. When he picks her up in episode 3 she seems nervous before picking an outfit so she always found him physically attractive since the beginning in my opinion.

psycholiciouspro

The second scene between them, when he offers s3x 🥵🥵🥵. It's a pity we only had 6 episodes; if there were more, there would definitely be more "enemies" scenes.

SeaExplanation1680

I’m sorry but there was tension there. Some hate tension idk because they didn’t have to stand so close to each other’s faces 🫣 James is over here calling her poor and he’s close to kissing distance with her lol.

psycholiciouspro

Lots of hate tension and lots of sex tension. Both can coexist. 😁

Natural_Task_5170

Not an unpopular opinion. Just the point in the entire story 🤷‍♀️

Equivalent-Section21

I really wanted them to stay enemies for longer. They both folded so quickly lol

SeaExplanation1680

Same but they did the enemies so well in the series that when they get together it’s so much better lol. The enemies part didn’t last that long but they don’t actually get together until the sixth episode 🤷‍♀️

Lol my unpopular opinion is that coming from a fashion house, the tailoring of James’s clothing was all terrible!!!! They were all so ill fitting 🥲. The pants were too tight when they could be a bit looser and sort of bunched at the hems. The suit jacket always ended at a weird length. The bullet journaling!! Lol something about it dates the show so much but it’s more of a personal opinion. I just hate it and it makes her uncool to me. Lydia’s whole teacher relationship. She’s beautiful and I just fast forward when their scenes come up.

Boopsyboo

I fast forward through the Lydia and Sutton scenes, too.

Main-Animator8982

I personally thought he embodied the rich look well lmao but maybe that’s me being biased since he’s so attractive lol. I know nothing of fashion though..

amyryan32

Me too. I absolutely do think that he dressed rich.

googlyeyeso_o

Lol I know, it’s a particular nitpick. I love a good costume because it brings me into the world more. Jame’s clothing were at least decisively accurate because he’s 17 or whatever and you can’t have developed a sartorial elegance yet. It’s just hilarious because his monies are from the exact thing. While on the other hand, Ruby’s costuming was spot on. Her school uniforms against the sneakers, and the clothes they put her in outside of school - coupled with her hair and makeup. It’s so realistic for someone her age. They never put her in heels and her nails another done up. Like I understood her better through her costuming and styling.

fortreslechessake

I thought the same thing about the tailoring. Especially Lydia - no one that rich would have such weirdly fit clothing, let alone someone from a longstanding menswear family lol. It was such a weird oversight and I can’t really see it being much of a budget related issue

Boopsyboo

I can’t make up my mind about James’s clothing fit, but I notice some of those things. I think I might like it when his clothes are tight, though.😂 Especially when his shirts hug his shoulders from the back. Why can’t Lydia give Cyril a chance and forget about that creep teacher. And for me it’s that stupid bun even more than the bullet points with Ruby. 😂😂 She’s too adorable, though, and who would have thought those nerdy things hid such a brash character.

googlyeyeso_o

I agree with the shirts, last episode the white Oxford did a lot in general. He looked amazing when they were walking along the river. I can’t remember but I think he was also in denim so I think that’s why I like this particular outfit. Also bonus, during their dance scene where his entire chest was out. Ruby … lol, she’s stronger than meeee. I think Lydia needs to be single and cunty because look at her. No men! Not for a while! Between the ballerina bun and James skinny pants, I see the millennials working behind the scenes. I hated it but I lived through it 🥲. We all did it thinking we looked our best.
