Does it creak the first few minutes of driving? Does it creak more in the cold? Does it creak especially when turning?

CaliDasher

I just bought it, so I only know how it operates in the cold (Northern California). It creaks only in the first few minutes of driving, and only when I apply the brakes, and doesn’t matter if I’m turning, or not.

There’s a TSB on creaky bushings and they’ll fix it out of warranty. But your problem could be something else. If you bring it into the dealer they will charge you a diag fee until they confirm the problem is part of the TSB. Then it’s free. Or not if it’s something else.

Thanks for the info, but if it’s bushings, wouldn’t it creak whether or not the brakes are applied?

Applying brakes puts pressure on some bushings. My Subaru creaks when I turn the first 15 minutes. Then the sound is less but still there. It’s a long wait for parts these days.

Thanks for your help!😁👍
