Using the dosing caps helps a lot and makes changes between cleaning time longer. I use alcohol wipes or 100% isopropol alcohol but the amount you need its costly. its cheaper in the end to buy a new one. Once you have 4 like i do I then i do a big day of cleaning using steam cleaner, after then dishwasher friendly set to your highest setting and use Finish dishwashing tabs. Gotta remember its a LOT of resin so the cooling unit builds the gunk and best to clean after heating. Good luck and take care.
I take all the pieces apart, pop them in a ziplock bag, pour a splash of bong cleaner in there, and give it a good shake for a minute or so. I’ll give everything a good rinse with some hot water, use a qtip with some more cleaner on it if theres anything stuck, and then let it air dry overnight.
It’s the only way I’m able to keep on top of the maintenance with two people using it daily ☺️
Put in a jar and submerge it in 100% isopropyl alcohol available online for around $40 for 5 litres. Leave it in there for 1 hour no scrubbing involved then rinse with warm water and will look like new. Ps give it a dry run before using
I legit just soak mine in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol for about 5 mins roughly, after that most of the stuff is off and then just use water and cotton tips if really need but usually I just need isopropyl alcohol and water
Everyone needs to sign this and stop this madness we should have easy access to parts
[dry herb petition](https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN6127?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=campaign&utm_campaign=Email%20Campaign%20-%20Apr%2023%2C%202024%2C%202%3A33%20PM&_kx=xOVnDG8q_10_KIYjgP_EQRl7h88ShIdPNVqnejxIrbM.HVx7TW)
I use a cotton bud (Q tip) after I have finished using it, scrape the stuff out, blow down the mouthpiece (watch out stuff can come out) and its been great. I haven't taken mine apart since November.
Hello there! I have a great solution to this works a treat. Soak them in hot water (optional). After that have them sitting up so you can pour a splash of 'tea tree oil' in there (you dont need much) and scrub with a toothbrush. It will instantly be gone without much effort. Allow to air out so the smell goes.
Tea Tree Oil is poisonous mate, better off using 99%+ isopropyl alcohol as it’ll all evaporate very quickly without leaving traces of anything that’ll harm you.
Old glass coffee jar (large If possible ) iso and salt .Soak for 5-10 and shake . Done . You could also grab tongs and run a kettle thru before hand but I’ve never needed to. Maybe buy a few at a time if possible then wash them all iso +salt 👌🏽
Yeh kinda wierd I’ve been doing this for 5-6 years no probs …I think only once I’ve had to use the storz brush with iso. Ohwell hope op finds a solution 👌🏽
Maybe you left it far too long between cleans? I soak mine in either iso or metho for 10-15 mins, rinse with warm water and it’s good as new every time.
You can get 5 litres of isopropyl alcohol from eBay for about $40, just put it in a container with that, shake it a bit and let it soak for a few hours ( sometimes if it’s really caked in there you can use a toothbrush to scrub it out with the isopropyl) also make sure it dries properly before use otherwise it’ll taste nasty c:
There are a few ways you can do it. Iso is the best I pop it into a container and shake every couple hours. Then switch to an empty container and tip boiled water over it to get rid of the iso flavour. You can also add salt to the mix to help strip off the pieces but I wouldn't add your metal pieces to the salt one.
Lastly you can get a cheap stream cleaner from Kmart or big W steaming it off works a treat. I usually put it on a rag so the sticky shit doesn't go everywhere.
What ever you do don't tip it down your sink
Need to clean them weekly, religiously.
I don’t, but mine clean up fine so. (Broke many lock caps starting out and a little scarred.)
Try running the cap on the vape at 210 a few times to heat it up, take it out and try to manually remove with the orange pick provided, once the larger particles are removed soak for an hour in iso. Rinse under hot water and pick out the remaining, if any do.
Let us know how you go.
Works great, I got mine online, can't remember where, but it wasn't expensive only $50-60.
Stainless Steel has heating ,that can b used to help evaporate ethanol faster if u want to keep the reclaim.
I find after a soak in iso I rinse it all then I go over it again with cottonbuds soaked in iso (then rinse again). The initial soak and then rinse seems to help move anything that's caked on. Then a burnoff before I use it again to make sure the iso traces are gone from the crevices.
Along with the ISO Soak, I find some toothpicks to be the ideal tool for cleaning. They are hard enough to dislodge the hard bits, but won't scratch the plastic.
Beyond this I would advise:
1. To get some spare cooling units so you can soak much longer.
2. Clean more frequently (daily if you have to) as to not get to the point at which it is this difficult for you to clean.
Put it on the hottest cycle and pull it apart while it’s still warm. The resin will be gooey and sticky enough in this heated state to scoop out with a tool or cotton tip, then the rest quickly dissolves in ISO
You also should keep the screen on, you don’t actually have to remove them and the rubber seal when you drop it in the iso.
Mine come out clean without that hassle.
Of course you get downvoted. You're right though. Dynavap and induction is king. I recently bought a ball vape and I'm still considering just going back to the dyna + induction combo. Nothing beats it for efficiency.
Try some salt in the isopropyl and shake it like crazy, also if you leave it sitting too long in the isopropyl it gets very sticky and needs to be scubbed off with fresh isopropyl
As others have said, 99% iso and an ear bud is the way. I've literally never used anything else on my Mighty+ and it cleans all parts up perfectly. Soak in the iso - immerse them completely - for at least 30-40 mins (not the O rings - take them off and wash separately in water). Take it out, work an earbud through all the sections (I normally have to use \~3 earbuds across both pieces). Do a few passes through the middle chamber area, a lot of residue gets caught there and can't always easily see it. If needed, put them back in for another short soak in the ISO, then go again.
If that's not working, your isopropyl alcohol is a dud or the weed you're using is some kind of alien super strain (I'll assume that's not it).
Cool, I genuinely thought that was about dissolving the glue that holds the plastic emblem on the cooling unit. What do we think happens to the plastic housing if it sits in iso for say 24 hours?
You remove that part before soaking... Like it suggests in the handbook. I would say that soaking for more than 30 mins would start to degrade the plastic and may leach chemicals or at best ruin the integrity of the cooling unit
You seem horrified that someone would leave the unit in iso for more than 30 minutes because it says not to in the manual but you're fine with putting plastic in the oven. Sounds great.
Horrified? I said it's not recommended. If the manual said "do not let the cooling unit exceed temperatures above 100°c" then I would consider not putting in an oven but again, the mighty is literally a portable oven that goes above 200°c.
The cooling unit never gets to 200c. It doesn't even get too hot to touch so maybe 40c Max. I would be far more worried about melted plastics than a little bit of extra time in iso.
Put it into the oven for 10 mins upside on parchment paper at 90-100c.
It'll soften and melt everything but won't harm the CU at all.
You can do this and easily collect the reclaim on the parchment
Ok this works. No reclaim actually moved but it made it so I could actually scrape it out. Thank you. Also didnt realise I could just throw em in the oven. This will help me dry them now :)
Try putting it in a mason jar with some rock salt, and 99% iso, and shake it around. The rock salt will help get the stubborn spots clean. Otherwise if you want to scrape it off, it’s much easier when it’s hot, warm it up either with your Mighty or in the oven at 110 degrees. Make sure you remove the top clip from the CU otherwise the sticker on that will melt in the oven.
Also, Invest in a second CU and then you can have one soaking in iso and one in use.
Usually for me soaking in 99% iso will “loosen” up the residue and can just use an ear bud or something to wipe it all off
Can try iso and salt in a jar with a lid and shake vigorously?
Definitely loosens it up but I can't get it out. As another user suggested, I put them in the oven at 100°c and now can get it all out. Sparkling clean now!
You've fucked this cooling unit probably by leaving too long between cleaning, and certainly by using the 70% crap. They aren't expensive to buy, just buy a box of 3, and a new cleaning set and make sure you clean them minimum once a week and use dosing capsules so you don't get actual burnt plant material stuck there, as you can see in your picture. If you use dosing caps it's only resin there.
I ended up buying a stainless steel cooling unit because of this issue.
I soak the stock one, then use the stainless....And occasionally get the stock one clean and use it again.
The Aftermarket cooling units are MUCH easier to clean than Storz and Bickels.....Which I am pretty sure is designed to be hard to clean, so you're more likely to buy 3-4 cooling units you didn't want

Time for the old angle grinder bro! or soak it in 100% for a day or 10.
Get a new one
Buy a replacement from Blazetopia, cheap as
Put in a jar and submerge it in 100% isopropyl alcohol available online for around $40 for 5 litres. Leave it in there for 1 hour no scrubbing involved then rinse with warm water and will look like new. Ps give it a dry run before using
Just buy the replacement pack for 50$

Does that even have a full screen left in it???
I legit just soak mine in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol for about 5 mins roughly, after that most of the stuff is off and then just use water and cotton tips if really need but usually I just need isopropyl alcohol and water

Yeah I prefer the metal vapes that you can use for half as long (or less!) as a S&B vape before they get so hot they literally become a burn hazard 🤤🥵

I use an ultrasonic cleaner it's a game changer for cleaning this stuff. The heat and vibration works a treat.
I use a cotton bud (Q tip) after I have finished using it, scrape the stuff out, blow down the mouthpiece (watch out stuff can come out) and its been great. I haven't taken mine apart since November.

Thats why i dont inhale it
Noooooo

Ive done this and i dont think it works that well once its ahdhered like the above, the poster mentions their use of ISO to no avail.
Yeh kinda wierd I’ve been doing this for 5-6 years no probs …I think only once I’ve had to use the storz brush with iso. Ohwell hope op finds a solution 👌🏽
I think alcohol works ok, just takes a bit more elbow grease. you use tea tree oil and youd never bother cleaning with anything else its so easy.
Maybe you left it far too long between cleans? I soak mine in either iso or metho for 10-15 mins, rinse with warm water and it’s good as new every time.
Yeah as annoying as it is it’s easier if you clean it more regularly.
Ethanol
I have seen reasonably cheap replacement cooling units on aliexpress....
The best way I've found is you buy several of them and rotate their use. Then clean them all at once. And use the smaller screens
Try tea tree oil, thank me later
Get a replacement????
Buy a new one.

when my wife goes out, I fill the dishwasher with all my bongs, stems and cones and the pokers! Try it... (at your house not mine!)
🤣
😂
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Then when am I supposed to clean the toilet seats? There is not enough room in the dishwasher.
wash it in the shower, probably still got shit on ur ass, if the seat is dirty!
You can't use dishwasher tablets in the shower
Youtube S&B . they have a cleaning guide video on there. Isopropyl alcohol available from bunning in the paint thinner / cleaning section
Also Coles, woolies, iga
ISO 24 hour soak
For plastic? Surely that will damage it.
I do 1 part iso 3 parts water mine is fine
Just buy replacements, they are like $70 for a 3 pack with all the extras needed to service it.
I have 3. How many do you want me to have? Buying more doesn't resolve my issue
Need to clean them weekly, religiously. I don’t, but mine clean up fine so. (Broke many lock caps starting out and a little scarred.) I use ethanol in a ultrasonic cleaner for all my vaporiser parts, & clear thoroughly with soap & water when done.
Do the ultrasonic cleaners work well? Was thinking of getting one. Do U know of any cheap ones that work well? Cheers.

No.. But this time I did
You also should keep the screen on, you don’t actually have to remove them and the rubber seal when you drop it in the iso. Mine come out clean without that hassle.
This is why i switched to dynavap and an induction heater. Cleaner and easier to maintain.
Of course you get downvoted. You're right though. Dynavap and induction is king. I recently bought a ball vape and I'm still considering just going back to the dyna + induction combo. Nothing beats it for efficiency.
No gross plastic either, shit can’t be good for you
It’s made from PEEK which is stable at those temps. Commonly used in medical devices.
Buy iso from Sydney Solvents. $26 for 5 litres and it cleans these and the caps really well. Just soak overnight. It's not that hard.
Yes this is what I use too.
Try some salt in the isopropyl and shake it like crazy, also if you leave it sitting too long in the isopropyl it gets very sticky and needs to be scubbed off with fresh isopropyl

I think I have a super strain.. Either that or I'm hitting it wayyyy too hard. 3 mins in the oven at 100c did the trick

Go dunk your head in some ISO
Ok this is definitely not recommended.
Why is that?
It literally says in the handbook not to let it soak for more than 30 mins

Thank you, that’s very informative. I think I should re read these instructions of which you speak. :)
Does it ssy you should put it in the oven?
It's a portable oven. The internal temp goes up to 220°c. Over double the temp of the oven
Logic checks out.
You seem horrified that someone would leave the unit in iso for more than 30 minutes because it says not to in the manual but you're fine with putting plastic in the oven. Sounds great.

Yes, I have done this. Soaking alone does nothing. Scraping after soaking pushes the reclaim around but I can't get it out.

False. Another user just gave me a tip and now they're sparkling clean.
It should never be as filthy as it is here in the first place. Soaking in 99% and light brushing is all it should need. You've been grubby here mate.
Yeah didn't work for me obviously.
.. because you let it get far beyond where it should get. It's lost effectiveness long beyond that point with the airways being so blocked and sticky.
I ended up buying a stainless steel cooling unit because of this issue. I soak the stock one, then use the stainless....And occasionally get the stock one clean and use it again. i’ve bought so many 🤣 thankfully i’m preparing to give up flower but i probably should’ve given that stainless steel one a go a while back
