Fortnite is garbage, imo. Also, with Metallica already having had skins in Fortnite, why would Megadeth want to 'follow' Metallica - why not have something different? PvP and Battle Royale aren't everyone's cup of tea.

World of Warcraft would be far better with a far better history, such as Ozzy's involvement ("SHARROOON!!"), Mr T Mohawk Grenades and the ever-present Chuck Norris memes. WoW's player base has a pretty wide age range that would cover new and long-time fans.

I might be biased since I'm not into Fortnite, but the idea of seeing Megadeth as skins doing those silly dances will drop their integrity by a ton. Just like Metallica, I'd simply see them as sell outs and would lose a ton of respect for them. Good thing is that Dave would never sell out so hard and Megadeth is not a band for the masses. Where Metallica is practically Disney-famous, Megadeth will always remain the underdog and corporations don't see opportunities for money in the underdogs.
I know a ton of people have fun playing Fortnite, but the reality is that that game is a product of corporate greed and it's run by people who care nothing more than to think of what the next strategy could be make more money, hence making Metallica into skins.
Although, Vic Rattlehead is pretty cool-looking. So if they'd just make him into a skin, it probably would be the only way. Subtle enough for Megadeth fans to know and subtle enough for non-Megadeth fans to not mind it.

Like the Metallica crossover, it just sounds lame. Call me old fashioned but I still take music quite seriously and Megadeth as a serious band. Sticking them in a kids computer game is just reductive and cheapens the music.
I'm aware, and I get that bands want to increase their exposure and marketing potential in anyway possible, but at least "World of Tanks" is a sorta on-brand for Megadeth. The thought of some disney princess in a Megadeth t shirt running around shooting lazers in some rainbow coloured fantasy island with Holy Wars playing in the background is just really sad. Disclaimer - I have minimal experience with fortnite and my gameplay description may not be entirely accurate.
Hard disagree. The idea that kids might hear Holy Wars while playing their video games is exactly the sort of thing we need to increase musical education. It's like classical music and luney tunes.
Most major metal acts are in video games, Metallica, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, Ozzy, etc. That’s not even mentioning the guitar hero type games either, if it’s not for you doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it.

I don't understand Fortnite at all, but I can imagine someone in the marketing department saying they made the best use of their dollars by partnering with Metallica. You and I both like Megadeth, but in brand standing, Metallica is like Coca Cola, Smith and Wesson, or Rolex in the metal space. They wouldn't gain any new ground partnering with Megadeth.
Also didn't they put the Metallica members in Fortnite? They would probably have to go back and replace 2 of the Megadeth members in 3 years.
