Lots of fans consider it among their worst albums. Personally, I listened to it over and over when it came out. I thought it was such a step up from Risk that I was really stoked - but then I got tired of it, and I’ve hardly listened to it since. In retrospect, I think it’s okay - not great, not terrible. Weird drum sound too - I thought it was cool at the time, but looking back I wonder how they got that sound production-wise.

Swazi

Disconnect and Dread automatically make it not one of their worst.

Upper-Life3860

Dude when i used to do a lot of drugs and wander around the city streets for 3 days at a time without sleep I would listen to disconnect for hours on end all alone at 2am and I never felt more alive

AdminsAreCool

Disconnect is probably a top 10 Megadeth song for me. It has a special place in my heart because it and Countdown were the first Megadeth albums I bought when I was first getting into them ~22 years ago. I'd probably slot it right above Cryptic Writings in my rankings, but I think I'm an outlier in that regard.

ESBCheech

Certainly those are great songs. Disconnect was always my go-to “mindlessly noodling on the guitar” riff in high school. I just can’t think of many deth albums on the whole that I would put TWNAH in front of. Definitely Risk and Super Collider. Beyond that, I’m not so sure.

eddiegroon101

The same happened to me. Sort of like it ran it's course for me and it's replayability wasn't there anymore. Disconnect, Dread, and Return to Hangar are the only ones I care enough to bang my head to. Of course, there's also Silent Scorn, which is always a blast of nostalgia because they end their shows while it plays as they take their bow to the audience. Epic 🤘🏽

HetTheTable

It’s not bad it’s like 6/10 for me

cut_it_cutter

I love promises. I get why most ‘Deth fans hate it I guess, it’s not their typical thrashy style. I just like ballads from metal bands, so I seriously dig it.

GarryMcGorm

I’ve always loved this album since it’s release date.

PeeBah31

There’s 4 absolute bangers (TWNAH, DatFM, Recipe For Hate, Hangar), 1 solid instrumental intro (Scorn), and 7 songs that sound like tweaked versions of tracks off of Risk. Al Pitrelli does a hell of a job on lead guitar, but it doesn’t save this album from being among Deth’s weakest imo.

Training-Onion999

🎂 Happy cake day! 🎂

Burnsite

This was my introduction to megadeth when I was in middle school. There’s are several of their albums I like more now but I will always have a fondness for this one.

EarlofBizzlington86

My first megadeth album

RyderLostHisRadio

return to hangar was such a good sequel in my opinion

KakyoinLaw

the few songs on here that were played on Unplugged in Boston are really good

Exotic-Switch1244

Hands down, great underrated album. That and UA.

cinematea

Love this album.

The_Thomas_Go

One of my favorite albums. Pretty much every song is a banger

satansbride420

I just brought this on vinyl! (Remastered version) Definitely rate it, when is a masterpiece.

Shionkron

Absolutely love it! It was a return to form after R.I.S.K. It’s not one of my top 3 or 4 albums but is definitely a banger and love to crank it for long drives.

JinxTOfast

I like it.especially since it has dread and fugitive mind

Quantum_Pineapple

Dread and Fugitive Mind rules, Al Pitrelli rules.

Ok_Imagination_2236

I love Megadeth. I. Think the album is butt tho

Penorl0rd4

Terrible album, and you can’t even say that I just don’t like it because it’s a departure from the normal style but I like cryptic writings, which was done well. This album blows and I’ll never understand the band subreddit trend of saying that shite albums are good.

ArteSuave197

Silent Scorn!

Jelly_User

THIS ALBUM IS THE BEEEEST

JinxTOfast

Moto psycho is catchy asf

SignificantCareer258

Kill The King should have been on that instead of Capitol Punishment.

Longjumping-Swan-827

I think it's one of their best albums.

fvalt05

I never understood the hate for it.

rawg67

has a ton a great songs... Recipe For Hate, Dread/Fugtive ..... the track When is one of my favorite tracks just for its uniqueness and its extra cover song/homage to Diamond Head for the last section.

datMLGboi2

It’s a pretty hit and miss album

Just_Dimo

I like it, don't listen to it that much, but still, some songs from this album are awesome (TWNAH, Moto Psycho, 1000 Times Goodbye, Dread, Return To Hangar). Also, the title song is kinda goofy imo. But I like that.

kilravock_music_sws

When I was going through my vinyl collection with my friends I pulled this one out and called it their most mid album. Disconnect, Dread, Return To Hangar are fun though. I really liked it when I was a teenager, but pretty cold on it these days. I usually reach for The System Has Failed before this one when I’m looking for “modern” Megadeth. Early modern Megadeth?

Grendeltech

I liked this one a lot. Maybe more than I would have if the album preceding it hadn't been Risk, but I enjoy it more than I don't.

No_Shock_Advised_

"When" is one of the most underrated Megadeth songs of all time to me! A true fuckin gem!

JollyShame1846

idk what to say about this album, i didn’t understand it yet

casperr-theghost

i cant stop listening to losing my senses 😓

sirbeep2112

I might catch shit for this but this one is the most “emo” megadeth album. I could be totally wrong.

sirbeep2112

Not saying it’s a bad album I like a few songs on it a lot

ThatModellingBloke

I love this album!

[deleted]

Why?

smelron3317

It’z gud

matthew_sch

Of all the albums, and you picked a bottom three to talk about?
