IIRC (it was 15 years ago or something) The Kelbi bow in mh3u was absolutely crazy because it had an absurdly high amount of projectiles which all proked the slime vial (sorry I don't know the vial name in english, I mean the explosive vial derived from brachy slime).
So basically even with decent stats, the bow was absolutely broken because you could spam explosion status on monsters.
Also you forgot to add that 3u had slime instead of blast status. And it was MUCH more broken (basically the same thing but slime proced much faster than blast).

The bow didn't outperform meta endgame builds in damage, but it got close with virtually zero skill required and was incredibly safe because of the near constant stagger the explosions caused

When people see the op kelbi bow montages its usually 4 kelbi bows against a monster weak to slime and/or in a multi monster quest
