I thought about the last part and I imagined that you'd later find out it laid an egg in the base and get to customize its offspring for the post-game.
You know, if they're truly serious about making a much more involved and developed story, this would be one hell of a way to end the main story.
Like losing your horse in Ghost of Tsushima.
They were going to do it with Aiden (Excitable A lister? — red hair) but then they pussied out and kept him alive even though he was supposed to be burnt to ashes.
Every time I see this clip I just think that someone who was working on it had to have been watching the FF14 trailer for ARR while story boarding this
Having listened to it with Answers now, yes absolutely someone was watching that trailer
Dragon's Dogma 2 did this. If you have a high affinity with your pawn, at the end of the true ending, they choose to sacrifice themselves for you. I felt hollow for the next few weeks
Personally, I’m hoping that any monster (that’s a predator) can kill the seikret in a scripted surprise attack, and that you can carve from the dead seikret’s corpse to get something like raw meat or a seikret feather, to which then the dead seikret would function as a mini item box, and that you would have to go find and tame a new seikret if you lost your seikret and you wanted another seikret.
Tbh, would be a bit corny, and unfair, due to it looking like a core mechanic

GoT did something similar, iirc
I can't think of the last time a major character has died in a Monster Hunter game.
Really expected to see Aiden looking like beef jerky after that cutscene, but I guess his kushala armor had 100 fire res
That Kushala armor was Fatalis resistant certified!
Stories Wings of Ruin.
The monster you hunt, duh. /s
Hell do you mean? I die all the fucking time
The lance main who could have blocked it: 😑
You called? I have a full stamina bar and a maxed out guard skill. Where do you need me?
LANCE GANG 24/7

I wasn't expecting to cry at a meme today, but here we are.

They're a Seikret.
But it's seikret so don't tell anyone.
