The rules on Wb's ship is whoever finds the fruit can eat it. Blackbeard could be the 1st mate of Wb and if Thatch found it Thatch would be allowed to eat it.
I doubt he's whitebeard's son. Weevil and his mom so far are only claiming that he's whitebeards son and while technically it's not impossible we also don't have any true reason to believe he is. Frankly unless Oda confirms it I don't buy it.
Wouldn't surprise me if WB didn't even know Weevil existed. Its possible stussy just ghosted WB after Weevil was born.

Miss Bucky, the original Stussy says that Vegapunk can prove that Weevil is WB's son, and since it's in this chapter that is revealed that Stussy is a clone, it's fair to say that it's plausible that Weevil is also a clone, perhaps defective, but part of WB lineage nonetheless.
Nothings been proven though. I'd also more call it a reasonable inference on our part rather than a heavy hint since it hasn't been addressed directly.
We don't actually know how strong he is, but Kizaru did say that he's physically as strong as young Whitebeard and nothing so far points to that not being accurate
Obviously Weevil lacks the devil fruit, is dumb as a rock and might not even have haki, so he'll likely not be fully on WBs level, but he should still be one of the strongest is the former Warlords

Honestly I’ve been going under the assumption that Whitebeard didn’t even know that Stussy had Weevil. I can imagine Whitebeard and Stussy getting it going on soon before the Rocks pirates fell apart, and they just didn’t properly consider the child in the resulting chaos.
Either that or Stussy took the son in the divorce.
Weevil looks more like Queen,which would probably explain hisnstrength since they could be from the same clan/type of human? Then his mother just made him delulu and shit to give him clout.
Could it be that Stussy took a sample of WB dna in secret and made a clone that got a bit.. weird? I can imagine him being super dumb and clumsy and that's why he has all the scars indicating reattached limbs

I’m also of the opinion it’s probably clone shenanigans, but if not we have no idea what went on between them.
We have seen that Stussy was clinging to Whitebeard in the panel of the Rocks Pirates from that one God Valley chapter, but he seemed pretty cold to her. A theory I have seen around a lot was that she wanted his child but he didn't, so she worked with Vegapunk to become artificially pregnant with some kind of DNA.
I think Weevil being Whitebeard son is something the WG pulled off to slander Whitebeard name more, and possibly a legitimate cause to claimed Whitebeard treasure.
If Whitebeard wanted a family, why didn't he get married? Even if he's sterile, like some fans have theorized, he could have adopted kids, rather than kidnap every young pirate that comes after his life.
The stitches all over Weevil’s body tells me that if he’s WB’s biological son, then something grievous happened to Weevik that caused WB to believe him dead.
I’m baffled more people don’t realize how possible that is and immediately jump to “WB could have only abandoned his kid”
Hes either a clone or stussy kept it a secret becasue whitebeard would not abandon his son, especially a real blood related one not unless he believed keeping him away from the pirate life would be good for him thats the only way i can see it
My guess is that Weevil was basically the "price" for OG Stussy to create Clone Stussy. Think Jango Fett wanting Boba Fett for a son as part of his deal to sponsor the Clone Army. MADS wants to clone some Rocks Pirates, Stussy says sure but I want you to make me a son from this DNA. Maybe the sample wasn't great, maybe they hadn't ironed all of the cloning process out yet when they made Weevil (after all, Stussy is considered the first *success* and we know how much of a perfectionist Vegapunk is), lotta possible explanations.

Stussy only tries to push Weevil as the rightful heir to Whitebeard’s fortune after his death, with no mention of him prior, suggesting Whitebeard would certainly not have agreed.

I don't think this is what happened, but it isn't inconceivable that weevil was wb's bio son but wb never knew about him.
My theory is that white beard's lineage factor was used to create weevil, and that the OG stussy is not biologically related to weevil at all.

Weevil had scars on either side of his face, and he only shows up AFTER Whitebeard died. Stussy had a crude scientific background and I don’t think she’s beyond grave robbing.

As much as we know he might've fucked Stussy and right before Rock's pirates disassembled, and never knew he had a baby with her. And He always wanted a family right? So I think if he knew about them he would have stayed with them at least

He even rejected multiple chances to get a promotion (which would get him way more treasures) despite being One of the First to join WB's crew
Ace offered the second division commander position to teach and dude was chill and turned it down
He snapped when he couldn't get the one thing he wanted
