to me, it reveals how basic of a song it is...and it makes me think that that was the tempo they wrote it at--and then just sped it up.

"basic"? ...it's just a totally standard-issue 3-minute Metallica style song. (i remember a clip one time during a rehearsal where Lars was complaining that the guitar and drums they were doing was extremely "basic" or "hack" or something...and that's what this one feels like too.) not bad...but just nothing special.

I love how basic it is. The 1, 2, 3 combo of the verse, pre chorus, chorus is some of the best that Metallica has done.
But yeah, the intro is completely useless and sounds like it's from another song. I can't believe they go back to it near the end, as well.
i like the more minimal drums/guitar in the intro, but, yeah...that chop-up is the equivalent of the stream just stopping and buffering.
i don't know why anybody would like that.

75% is too slow. it sounds weird. I think 90-95% is the sweet spot.
