I'm pretty sure we all started like this, and we all discovered planes one step at a time this way :)
Do what you want to do, it's a game and a simulation, it just depends on how you wish you play it ! And may be one day you'll want to dig deeper in the realistic aspect of things, one aspect of the flight at a time. Or may be not, and that's absolutely fine !!

Is it ok to? Sure. But your effectively rewarding scammy behavior designed to prey on people like you with overpriced add-ons. There are great add-ons that fulfill your desires for similar money but are done out of passion and respect and have real value vs the slop captain scam churned out.
I have to admit, this question feels like bait considering how hostile people on Reddit are towards captain scam and LVFR, you don’t have to search far to find threads complaining about those companies.
