There’s a large group based out of Richmond and there’s a small group that recently started up in central Maryland with some meetings at a shop called Tables and Towers
From my experience most of the coordinating of events in this area happens through Facebook Groups. Check out MERV (Richmond VA), Fredericksburg VA Lord of the Rings SBG, Old Town Middle Earth SBG (Alexandria), and the Central Maryland MESBG Collective. I find those groups are usually fairly active/useful.
