I don’t care if this was trendy. I don’t even like bacon but if you pair it with maple flavor, I’m in. One of the best donuts I’ve ever had was a maple glazed donut with bacon crumbles. That combination of sweet and salty is a delight to the tastebuds.
Convinced a pizzeria at the mall I used to work at to put crumbled maple bacon in & on cannolis, it's been almost a decade but I can't stop thinking about it.
Epic bacon everything for about a year and then it was just so tired. I don’t need 18 slices of bacon on a burger. I don’t need a bacon weave for…reasons?
I’ve always liked me some bacon where appropriate, and remember thinking the forced “bacon is cool!” Or whatever you want to call it, campaign in late 00’s through the 2010’s was ultra cringe. And it worked, people were obsessed.
Nothing wrong with it in theory, in your pic looks like they just used straight up bacon-bits from the grocery store.
I would do a maple cinnamon doughnut with a buttercream glaze with candied bacon on top and a dash of chili powder.

I have a jar of maple bacon flavored salt. It’s soooo good!

I’m pretty sure that was just a marketing campaign for the pork industry. Same with avocados
Pretty much how everything works in America. Our cultural moments are just marketing campaigns.
I remember someone at my college would put bacon crumbs on his ice cream. This was in 2011 I think he got expelled for hate crimes, incidentally
The sweet and salty era was strong.
That burger king fudge sundae with bacon.. good times
What a plot twist 😅

Maple bacon donuts are FAWKING amazing. Don’t be hating on donuts—they’re one of the four basic food groups!
Just bacon in general. Our whole society turned into the Beggin’ Strips dog for a while. Bacon everything got old pretty fast for me.
Blame voodoo doughnuts
Little doughnut shop in my town still does this. Bacon on a maple iced long John. So dang good!

I was in high school working at Burger King and we had like an ice cream sundae with bacon
I refuse to eat bacon on a donut.
I was eating maple candied bacon donuts in 2012 before it was cool.
Donuts, ice cream, milkshakes, cupcakes, regular cakes, cookies, pretty much any "standard" sweet had bacon on it. It was a very weird time.
Pretzel buns. Like everywhere that had burgers on the menu had a pretzel bun burger for a while.
Oh yeah, I remember that. Competing with sliders.
Omg I remember these monstrosities
Okay the bacon donut trend really slapped but the adding bacon to my bloody mary’s stirring stick was gross af
I will singlehandedly keep maple bacon donuts alive if I have to. I had two on a road trip just last week. Still the best donut.
