Yeah I really wish mojang would add swamp villages and hurry along with the swamp update. In case y'all didn't know, you can get swamp villagers in survival by breeding villagers in a swamp biome (requires transport and frustration btw).

Or cure a zombie villager on a swamp biome!

It's happened to me a few times also. Half the village is plains and the other is swamp. Same with jungle villagers! Half plains half jungle. Edit: My Bedrock survival world actually has this happen, and the stronghold is under the village! Plus the village isn't terribly far away, and the jungle is massive!

Wild zombie villagers, yes. Igloo zombie villagers, no. Cured zombie villagers (villagers), no.

You can stop a zombie villager from despawning by either having it hold an item or by using a name tag on it.

Only a handful of mobs are able to hold items, if you throw an item and it doesn't pick it up you need a name tag. You can get lucky if you find a zombie villager early on a minecraft world, but otherwise you need a name tag.

For the future. Villagers also wear the outfit of the biome they spawn in. If you could locate a village near a swamp or biome you could lure 2 villagers into that biome and let them have kids. The kid will have the outfit of that biome.

Guaranteed. I found that out in my world where I got my villagers from a savannah biome and had them breed in a grassland biome. The kids wore the grassland outfits.

I can’t seem to find the source anymore, but I think in Java it’s guaranteed but Bedrock’s got something where it has a chance to be the same variant as the parent or a chance to be biome specific. Again, can’t find the source and I’m not positive. Either way and either version, probably more effective that using zombie villagers.

Damn I’ve gotta do that. I need to start importing villagers. Don’t know how this never occurred to me.

When I tried this they'd mate and the offspring would be whatever biome they mated in. Have you tried this? Example: I got 4x desert villagers and moved them to my island so they're all generic villagers.

Jungle is like 2k blocks from me, using nether transport it isn't too bad at all. I hate to plug, but I do stream pretty much anything and Ill be setting up the jungle soon

Heh, I have the same project, though mine is more of an open village with themed buildings of different architectural styles. Gave each villager Prot 4 Thorns 3 full diamond armor just to be extra safe :D

How did you get all the villagers to turn into the biome skins? Did you bring them from each biome or did you place some blocks near them and they change accordingly?

So I got them all from villages except jungle and swamp. Those I cured zombies in. However, someone pointed out I could have bred villagers in those biomes to get that type. Which I tested and is true. Also much easier.

Why are the swamp villagers in a nether container?

It's the type of area Im going to put them in

I don't know how to do any of the villager stuff yet. Can you get them to spawn or do you have to find them? How do you get them to mate? So far I can make a cube house with wood...and I figured out how to tame horses early so allllll my games are horse farms. I'm ready to branch out.

You have to manually feed them in order to get them to breed. Such as carrots or potatos. They need to have extra beds to breed too. You can find them in villages scattered around
