If you don't like the idea of duplication in survival, you could play on a server with a few friends. If it is even somewhat active, you all will have your own resouce farms at your base and you can speed up resource collection by purchasing resources from them.
The problem being that the only way to farm sand is manually or with a duper. Almost everything else afaik, can be farm legit without any duping. Even with some friends, sand still has to be shovelled.
