I think just artistic flair. Even if his lip split like that I think it would heal, plus when Marsh is described >!later!< people sometimes observe the one eye spike being shoved farther in where Vin wrecked his eye socket but nobody notices anything about other scars or a messed up mouth, etc.
That being said, I still really like this, I think it's great
Artistic flair for sure, rule of cool etc.
I think Marsh would mostly heal in the same way any pewter user can. I wonder if they're actually less likely to scar than non-allomancers given they typically have shorter healing times?
The eye socket thing is directly caused by the spike, which they can't mess with or risk losing powers and/or dying, so that's different.
I don’t understand one thing. The spikes in the eye, did they ever mention they protrude from the other side of the skull? I don’t recall that and yet most of the art shows the spikes ends visible from outside the back of the skull
They do, in fact that's how Kelsier kills the first inquisitor, he steelpushes him into a piece of wood till the spikes jutting out the back of his head stick into the wood and they he chops the head off leaving the head stuck in the wood.
I've been rereading The Final Empire for the first time since I initially read it a decade ago, and I'm shocked Kelsier's death came before we learned Marsh was turned into an Inquisitor. I thought for sure Kelsier knew that before he died.
Idk why but I always imagined the inquisitor to be big and beefy (think sion from league of legends) but somehow this thin lanky version is more terrifying
[SH] >!Wait come to think of it, I don't remember, did we ever end up seeing a conversation between Marsh and Kelsier after... it all? Like I feel they've a *lot* to talk about.!<
Hey Marsh, I think you have something in your eye
I can imagine Kel saying this very vividly.
vividly? that sounds more like Lopen to me.
That’s just conjunctivitis, don’t worry it’s not contagious
If you sharpened the edge, you'd be staring daggers at me.
yes, finally some square rusting spikes! this is how i always imagined the spikes until i saw official art, railroad spikes are the superior option.
Railroad spikes just have so much character. 🤔
is it mentioned in the book that his mouth is torn like that, or is it just artistic flair? either way i fw it

huh, I allways thought the shoved in spike was from when sazed punched his lights out with F pewter
Can confirm, just passed both of the scenes where he gets injured, Sazed rams one eye spike in farther and Vin pulls the other one out the front.
Dude just can't take a break
Marsh's scenes in HoA are the roughest for me. Being controlled and forced to fight your friends and family is a special kind of hell.
Oh could be
Artistic flair! I imagined that with the spike shoved into his skull it would break and crack. Chasing that grimdark feel.

This is Darth Sion coded
Sick. Marsh is the fucking man. Avatar of Ruin.
This is tough. Is that how many spikes he has? Ik he has a lot but I forget how many
He's got a total of >!22!< towards the end.
Brutal

I cannot pin point specifically, but I feel it was mentioned during the first glimpses that the inquisitors show up in the first book.
I can't cite a page number but it definitely says that the spikes protrude out the back.
Uh you got some of your lunch still stuck in your teeth

I suppose he is by comparison, but I've never seen this body shape called thin or lanky before.
You're right, looking at it again he's not really, just compared to the vision I had in my head
When I saw that description [This](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/1c9fs88) is what I was thinking.

[TLM] >!Not on page, but it gets implied in TLM that they have talked during the last 300+ years!<
I wasn’t expecting square spikes, but I like it
