It's a curated and handpicked set of some of the best games specifically for Miyoo Mini and Miyoo Mini Plus (but can be used with other handhelds with some tinkering I would assume). Includes all the needed BIOS files, boxart, roms, manuals, cheats and configs. As far as I know, some romhacks are also included.
Basically you get it if you just wanna play some games and don't want to build your own collection.
I personally handpick my own games because I'm not really interested in playing thousands of games, just a select few.
I mean, you must know that people don't pick the Done set out of an interest to play thousands of games.
It's so that the select few they think of are already there when they think of them.
Google "internet archive done set 2"
Download it.
Install onion os.
Unzip the done set to the SD card.
Job done, the miyoo is now the ultimate retro machine
I have a question and need help. So I followed the instructions of the page, unzipped the whole folder into the SD main folder area and then refreshed ROMS on the Miyoo. But it didn’t work. Am I supposed to do the ROMS and BIOS only or what?
did you install onion os on the sd, then insert it into the miyoo for it to do its thing, then put it back into the pc to unzip the zip? thats what worked for me

Yeah I did that. My instructions were from a google docs. Got onion os on the sd, did the necessary changes in the Miyoo, then back into the pc for some set zip

When I first joined the community, lots of people would respond with things like “forget ROM sets, curate your own collection!”
And it’s hard not to dismiss those guys as the know-it-alls but, honestly? They’re 100% right.
I currently have less than 100 games on my Miyoo Mini Plus, I’ve had it for 6 months and play it nearly every day. It’s outperforming my home consoles as gaming system of choice these days.
Why? Because I want to play every single game on my Miyoo, and it actually takes a long, long time to beat 100 games.
These ROM sets have thousands of games, 99% of which you’ll have never played, or even heard of. It’s easy to load up your Miyoo, scroll through 100s of games looking for something to play - get overwhelmed and end up not playing. Just like Netflix lol
Whereas if you have got Metal Gear Solid, Fear Factor, and Resident Evil 2 on your PSX emulator, you’ve got games you’re going to want to actually play and invest hours into. Golden Sun, Diablo, FF7, RPGs that you can sink even more time into.
To each their own. ROM sets are obviously great, but they’re sort of like DJ’s in a sense. They create a great playlist that is really good and comprehensive. But is that really better than you choosing your own favourite music?
First thing I did was put onionos on and done set 2. Sure, you can curate your own list of games. But that's what the favorite section in OnionOS is for imho.
Just adding to some of the other comments: in my opinion it is not one or the other: curate your own list or use a romset. I downloaded the done set 2 and curated my own list from that. That way you know you have the best bios files, etc. and working roms. I agree that you dont need hundreds of games, but you also don't need to go looking across the internet for the ones you want. Good luck starting up!
You might also want to look at the retro achievements pack, it's newer and compatible with retro achievements on onion os. It also seems to have homebrew and hacks like done set 2. Just installing it right now actually..
