Can't wait to have a WoL i can play tho. With multiples weapons !

ulovei_MFF

Installing now, how f2p-friendly is this game?

Alchadylan

Eh... The pity system is really generous but there's a lot of money to be spent. It will probably be a couple weeks before people get a grasp on how it balances out

WoLofDarkness

Yeah playing the ever crisis gave similar vibes to the FF7 Collab events. Finally I have a "spiritual successor" for Mobius after all these years

shadowmage666

Yes feeling the same way

Veedrock

No Red Mage, no interest.

heretic_witch

Is it gacha or what?

lasquiggle

Of course it is

heretic_witch

It's good... Bad thing that many people can't enter the game after launch and I'm too

Unsyr

Not available on my App Store :’)

I don't know, it really doesn't scratch the same itch for me. To me, EC feels like some unholy mashup of Record Keeper and Mobius that consistently fails to hit the highs of either while simultaneously doubling down on the worst aspects of gacha with several fomo mechanics encouraging you to log in every few hours and full screen ads for dogshit limited time packs being shoved in my face for every minor, arbitrary milestone I hit. Personally I feel like Stranger of Paradise evoked Mobius vibes far more than EC does, both conceptually (seeing as the basic premise is strikingly similar) but also mechanically despite the obvious shift from turn based to fully real time. I'm also just kinda done with the FF7 compilation as a concept. Mobius thrived off its strong character writing and being a unique take on an old concept along with its absolute banger of an original soundtrack while EC is just stuck spinning it's wheels retreading the same stories and concepts everyone has already seen ten times over. FF7 stood fine on its own and I just can't bring myself to care about the new stuff. My only real hope for EC is that we might someday get an Eclipse Contact 2: Electric Boogaloo with a playable Wol, but that'd still be a cheap substitute to tug at my nostalgic heartstrings. tl;dr I still miss Mobius.

Well, I tryed it. Nothing even near to MFF. Reminds me more about Star Ocean: Anamnesis or DFFOO. Not bad either. I think I will play some more and see where it will go. Not too much into FFVII (yeah, Im that guy who never liked FFVII too much, prefer much more earlyer titles, like my favorite FFIV or also good one FFIII, or undying classic FFI). Thats actualy one of the reasons I liked MFF so much - very good standalone story (somewhat based on FFI, but still great) and nicely described connection with other worlds. The only part of FFVII story that got me was Crisis Core. So, if devs will add Genesis, Sephiroth and Angel later maybe I will be interested. But even then Im not going to invest into this, or any other SE game. They lost my trust completely by turning into company that cares only about cash, releasing and closing games at speed of light if that game didnt bring them enough money.

Sadly, it's nothing like Anamnesis or DFFOO. It's like Seven Knights, but with prettier graphics and somehow even less control over your team. The more I've played it, the less I care for it. At this point I'm only doing what's necessary to play through the story. I played Anamnesis for years, and still play DFFOO - and I just can't with this one. It's a somehow worse Nier Reincarnation.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around “what’s good”, but it’s only day 2 so I know our starting pool of stuff is unlikely to have something stupid strong in it.
