Oh, there are a lot of us who appreciate how great MH monster design is, it's one of the reasons I was attracted to the game on the first place.
And Tobi-Kadachi is a great example, I found the design really innovative the first time I saw it. It's like a reptilian version of an animal like a ferret but with a puffy tail.
I've learned that they are Neutral by personal experience. The only reason I'd ever use Ghillie in its cave is due to Wulgs or Vespoids. I really like just observing it and chilling by it's side, haha.

I'm minding my own business and the second it glimpses me it ignores everything else and attacks me.
I've been wanting to record more spontaneous stuff like this in my expeditions, do you have any recommendations for ways to record gameplay without having to do too much work? Love this video sm btw.
Steam has just recently released an update that can allow you to record continuously (you specify the maximum amount of storage allowed to be used), can't make it any easier than that. Doesn't work for consoles though, obviously.
Have you tried using the Windows Game Bar? The shortcut is Windows Key + G
I use it to record gameplay sometimes, but iirc there is a function to record the last 30secs or so of gameplay?
This happened to me aswell, but instead of drinking, Tobi was sitting behind me. Didn't even notice him until I turned around. Was a very sweet moment.

Thank goodness not all of them are aggressive when not in battle.
You have to remember that they are just as much part of the ecosystem as the fish and plants. They are their own being that lives. I remember the first time I truly went afk. I was in the area right outside of the coral Highlands first camp by the pond. I came back to a rathian drinking water next to me. It didn't attack and just carried on.

I would be a huge fan of viper if it wasn't an absolute nightmare to fight.
What's so nightmarish about a hard to dodge 1/8th hp per two seconds poison?

I remember Tobi-Kadachi being a chill monster, but I didn't remember the viper version being the same, I thought it would attack on sight.
They have the ghillie mantel on, I think, but the wiki also says they are not aggressive until attacked
yeah i think they kinda just slink around and avoid conflict, they prefer hanging out in their warm cave slop

Hey bright, I used steelseries moments. It can capture the last 3 minutes of whatever happened in your game. This was a completely random moment :)

The cool thing about Kadachi is that they're not even aggressive when they CAN see you. You can just walk with them and they'll be totally chill
Viper is one of the (not even few) monsters that are just chill with you.
