Just buy Chivalry 2. They are never going to patch it, and probably don't know how even if they wanted to. Chivalry 2 has a much more casual approach and less toxic community.

Games to easy

There's something infinitely endearing about a spastic newb topping the leaderboard just 360ing with a Messer and feeling like god without having to ruin his life to "git gud". The great thing about Chiv 2 is that skill can still outbeat the casual strats, but they always stand a chance. There's just something that makes it feel like the fairest multiplayer game I've ever played. I've malded so hard as a 1hand + shield going 0 and 5 to a 12 year old with a infinite battle axe arc, but also driven them to literally throw their weapons out waiting for death after getting into a rhythm they can't catch with dashes + shield. The only thing that looks better in Mord is customization maybe historical stuff, and memes. Chiv 2 chat is pretty funny and very good vibes. The rare sped freaking out about getting 1vX'd on a fucking battlefield gets mocked relentlessly, as they should. Idk all the hype about Mord combat, trying it after playing Chiv 2 first, it feels so floaty w/ unrealistic weapon and body movements. I feel like I either don't understand physics or the hype is a cope from the sweatlords everyone mentions.

Chivalry 2 just doesn’t scratch the itch I have for Mordhau. I love the toxic community. I love the bs. I love getting into a huge fight and feeling my heart race. And most of all, I love being able to create my own mercenary how I want them to be. Can’t do that in Chiv.

donotreedeemit

One of the first ppl to mention the customization thing. I've dabbled in Mord and gone deep on Chiv 2 recently, and the lack of cutomization, histroical, etc, is a big drawback. I love shitposting and all the qualities Mord apparently has, but when I play it feels janky and combat is too light and floaty. Am I just not getting the depth of it yet? Cause I'm cool with sticking with it and getting wrecked for a year if it is eventually nuanced/skillbased in non-meta way.

WifiTacos

I live upstairs, thank you.

Fuzzy_Engineering873

“Just parry the sloppy 360 baxe vertex gamma epsilon cucumber as it comes out of the silly string chamber morph and activates the lightspeed drive to oneframe accel into you, you’ll get better bro!” They do not care about that. Basic drags and accels are part of the game and good as they are so I hope that wasn’t what you were complaining about.

b0ssplus

Just use Longbow and cuck them from afar. Nothing makes sweatlords mald like being focused by archers.

szczerbiec

They'll perfectly parry each arrow, switch to the naked mauld and manage to fuck you from behind each and every time

Key_Carpenter8443

fr. nothing makes archers mald like stealing their bow and running away

b0ssplus

Level 200 sweatlord spotted

szczerbiec

Nope. Then they'll just gaslight you to get good, ostrichizing the new players, and leaving only level 200s, who will eventually get bored and slowly kill the game because of muh secret club mentality. The devs will let the game die, 200s should think about welcoming noobs to keep their game seeded with more players. Oh well

pinAppleAvacado

Source?

Skankhunt-XLII

„everyone who is better than me because they know the games core mechanics must be a smelly basement dweller“ yawn

Miltawne

Getting the vibes you're getting rekt by basic drags, and rather than getting good, you are here.

Drags etc can be pretty difficult to read in invasion/frontline, even for more seasoned players. That's why they're used, after all. ;-) Try to stick together with other players, 1vX against perficent players is difficult even for most Veterans. Just try to not feed ripostes and try to block swings so they don't cleave through you into your teammates. If you have someone to play with, try hopping on vc and teaming. Coordinated Xv1 is very easy, very effective and can be unbelievably fun. I recommend playing on the 48 slot servers as they have a higher tickrate than the 64 slot ones and provide a more consistent and competitive gameplay. Swing manipulation is easier to combat there, too. Sure, playing against more perficent players sucks even then, but you have to recognize that a rookie would get shafted in most games 3 years after launch. Maybe ask them politely in chat if they could go easy on you, or try fooling around for a bit yourself if you get too exhausted. If you want to improve, pretty much the best way is to hop on duel servers and ask for someone to teach you.

Greyletter

Do all 64 player servers have a lower tickrate than all 48 player servers? Maybe that explains why i do so bad in 64 player matches (well, in addition to poor situational awareness and kamikaze tactics)

retrogamerX10

64p run at 30 tick, 48p at 60 tick. Weird stuff happens at 30 tick, but it doesn't matter all that much if you are just playing for fun, if you want a more consistent experience however, you will want to play on 48p.

TC_UNDERFIRE

Hop in some duel servers and practice my man. You'll get better at 1v1's and reading that crazy shit. You'll You'll be pulling It off yourself in no time. It will carry over into frontline and invasion then you'll be the gnarly one.

GrimxPajamaz

Agreed. Duels to warm up before hopping into FL/INV will help you improve a lot. To the OP: Yes at high levels this game is about "animation abuse", but with practice and dedication you can improve and people's swings will start to be more readable.

IgnoreMeBot

Get good nerd

retrogamerX10

Not nice

[deleted]

Sounds like a skill issue to me.

Deltidsninja

Hi! It's probably not animation abuse. Just drags and accels which are core to the game. It can be frustrating being a new player in a game that's been out or several years. Just don't give up and you'll learn. Tips: Try playing spear and staying with a group. If you dig shields, try kiteshield and any one handed weapon like mace or bastard sword. Stay with a group of teammates and try to surround.

NonPlayableSpearUser

Nothing like poking unsuspecting 200s and noobs alike from 10ft away with a sharp stick

Deltidsninja

As one of the "Sweaty tryhards" I would say that 1vx against a combination of shield and spears + low levels gambling is very hard to play against. But swinging a war axe into your teammate to bait a parry is also a viable strat.

puzzidilardo

They dont, Just play chiv

baconDood3000

Speaking of which, it got a big update a few days ago

EkuEkuEku

The maps and frontline is alot more fun in my opinion, the animations/duelling still feels very clunky and chiv1

UjhSkyler

What you described is a drag, which is a feature of this game basically. But there definitely is some animation abuse in this game for sure

goatsedotcx

Imagine limiting yourself this hard by crying you want the game fundamentally changed instead of improving. Also inb4 they change this then you find something else fundamental to complain about. lol.

Chreint

just play renown combat demo way more fun than mordhau imo

SodiumArousal

Chiv 2 is a much better casual team objective game. Duels are fine as well.

Daubeny002

They either accel it, or its a redparry (when the server doesn't register your parry in time) To check if it is a redparry type in console r.debugnetworkparry 1
