Just keep at it! I walked by these and almost stepped on them to go check on a dead elm. I found nothing there and traced my steps back and a couple feet to the right of where I originally stepped, there they were! Nowhere near the elm whatsoever.

Wash co area isn't that good for it. I live in that region and I drive south for my hunting. Look for soft wood trees like elm, ash, or oak for ex.
