It's the management's intention to replace nights with twilight and earlies. Solely so they can save money to send back to the shareholders
Basically we're being screwed so a billionaire can get richer. Our original contract with the old owners stopped strike action. However I would like to point out that ; A massive walk out done in two batches would cripple them.. it's not a strike.... Just the entire hourly paid workforce go home sick at the same time.
2 stores around us have already moved to mornings, twilights and ours have been given notice that nights are ending.
From what I’ve been told/ gathered it’s slowly being phased out in all stores. However I could be wrong and some stores/ areas might keep nights.
Your wage should be 100% protected for 4 months after the move to days, I'd definitely squeeze that out of them before your 1 week notice (unless nights is a requirement for you).
We lost our night shift 3 years ago. We were moved onto twilight 4.30 - 12 midnight. We have now been told this ends on July 15th with filling from 5am to 1pm.
From what I’ve been told by management Morrisons will end all night shifts this year. Cost cutting to save on wages by orders from America. I am now earning less than 3yrs ago. It’s bullshit.
You all need to join a union and become active campaigners for change.
If all of you, and I mean all of you, voted to go out on strike for three consecutive days, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, once each month. Management would understand how much money they would loose and agree to discuss lack of pay.
But management also know that they have made you too poor to be able to strike and survive without 3-days pay,
Each store has to become big on unions, and some of you need to become Union campaigners.
The question is are you worth it.

Our store still has nights and I haven't heard anything about them being phased out, besides that one post on Reddit
Our store is getting the 3 months notice of intention this week.

Warehouse or shop floor?
Happening in North East stores, to be replaced with 4am-1pm shift. Managers had a meeting yesterday. Partner is planning his departure now.
Planned and being phased out in all stores in Wales as far as I am aware.
