At the end of the day, we are all on 2 wheels. I'll nod at any other bikers on the road. The only people who don't really give a shit are Deliveroo riders and fake wannabe-toughguy Harley riders. Doesn't matter if you're on a 125 or a 1000cc I'll give ya a nod.
They seldom nod back. Was sitting opposite a pair at some lights and gave them a friendly wave, one of them responded then promptly got a whack on the back of the head from their riding partner. I assume waving to the idiot on the 125 is frowned upon!
Because I feel they're different to somebody who likes motorcycles and the lot. Using a scooter is just job to them and absolutely fine except they probably don't like motorbikes.
Yeah I would have done the same but everywhere was fully booked, so did a cbt and got a 125. Will be doing the DAS in September. Either way, it's all great fun and I have learnt a lot on my 125.
The number of bikers that I wish minor inconveniences on when they don't nod back while I'm on my 125 is fairly high.
It's like being an undercover boss, bet you'd nod back if I was on my other bike. You gimp. /s
Two days to get to Portsmouth from Edinburgh, one day on the ferry, one from Rouen to Brussels, one to the Netherlands, one to Berlin, one to Poland, with days in between for actually doing things. The way back will take more time as I'm taking the scenic route through Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland.
Its actually very disheartening and feels rather embarrasing when more experienced riders on big bikes intetioanlly ignore the nods of newer riders especially on L plates. I nod to everyone and it does suck when they just blank you on purpose.
I went straight to full licence straight off and dont know any bikers I didn't even know about this nodding thing I thought there was something wrong with the bike 🤣 then I realised its a thing, I nod everyone except the asbos trying to wheelie on their 50s group.
This is all well and good till you try it in London, where thousands of bikes are ridden on daily commutes.
Your head would fall off if you nodded at every bike, so nobody does it.
Doesn't mean we're not friendly though.
Haha this is me. It honestly surprises me how many nods I get on my shitty 125. Theory test booked, I'll be that cool 700cc guy in no time.
Best of luck buddy. Hoping to be there soon too
I went out to Matlock recently on my little honda and got so many nods, it makes me smile so much! Like I'm in a little secret group or something.

> like I'm part of a group. You are.
This is golden mate, got me in stitches!
Nod everyone, even the rozzers.
Especially the Ambo crews though. And some of the bobbies are great chaps and chapettes really.

More like they aren't allowed to take their hands off the bars due to road safety or some BS like that lol
ah quite possibly :D still, it made me smile
I’m on a Sinnis hoodlum, I got nods from Harley riders thinking it’s another Harley. >:)
Do scooters get a nod?
nod em all son
Of course! I struggle to identify who's deliveroo and isn't so I sometimes miss a nod.
Why dont deliveroo riders get a nod? a rider is a rider
Because I feel they're different to somebody who likes motorcycles and the lot. Using a scooter is just job to them and absolutely fine except they probably don't like motorbikes.
yeah just don't let your mates see
They do from me, at least if they look like they're wearing proper gear
Absolutely
Yep, apart from delivery riders, unless they nod first.
I do!
Scooter rider here, I'll nod everyone, vast majority do nod back.
I've gone from one to the other it was a big encouragement for me too, everyone gets a nod any bike is a bike
Ahh I'm gonna miss the 125 phase as I'm going straight for DAS at 28.
Yeah I would have done the same but everywhere was fully booked, so did a cbt and got a 125. Will be doing the DAS in September. Either way, it's all great fun and I have learnt a lot on my 125.
Every time i've been out on a lesson i get a nod from every biker. Guess the brotherhood/??girlhood?? is real
I make a point of nodding at CBT/A2/DAS people
I'm not even a motorcyclist, I get nods riding my crappy pushbike
Old school club cyclists always did the same kind of nod/wave thing. Think it's died out a bit since cycling became the new golf, though.
Honestly I nod everyone on two wheels, have done since I was pottering about on a 50cc moped. Most cyclists seem confused / indifferent to it tho.
There are some bike snobs out there. Apparently they were born on a bike 🤣🤣
You don't know it but the 125 days are some of the best days.
The number of bikers that I wish minor inconveniences on when they don't nod back while I'm on my 125 is fairly high. It's like being an undercover boss, bet you'd nod back if I was on my other bike. You gimp. /s
Everyone other than deliveroo riders get nods imo.
Although I have ascended, I too give our little buddies a welcoming nod. Still hurts to come off regardless of the size.
Well I'm currently sitting in a hotel in Rouen on my way to Poland on my CB125F, so my nods have turned to waves. Size doesn't maketh the biker.
Out of interest, how long is it taking you to get there?

Bike is bike.
i get a lot of nods on my cb125f, some ppl don't bother and the scooter riders never nod
You still have to deal with the idiot car drivers if you are on a 1000cc or a 125cc. Everyone gets respect.

Everyone gets a nod apart from London deliveroo that keep on doing CBT instead of doing their fucking test.
