Thief (1981) is on Tubi. It was directed by Michael Mann who later directed Heat (1995), also a heist movie.

burmerd

I just saw this one! Not as amped up was heat, but I liked it more

greatpain120

Love this movie

Logan Lucky is a great choice! So underrated!

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)

I instantly thought of this movie

I can't believe no one has said The Town yet.

Inside Man is a fun movie with great performance by Denzel Washington.

Heat is THE best heist movie.

rififi

Entire-Joke4162

Came here to make sure this was here. Rififi rules and totally meets his requirements as it’s certainly not mainstream (and from like 70 years ago).

FordMustang84

Den of Thieves is very solid. Just rewatched it. It feels like the trashier version of Heat in the best way.

ChristofH88

How to Blow Up a Pipeline (2022) is basically a heist movie, it follows the plot beats of a heist movie. It's a very tense thriller

MindlessTown7664

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. Very riveting.

MsRedWings520

The Italian Job Mark Wahlberg Jason Statham

CuriouslyImmense

The Italian job has a stacked cast! It's definitely a good one!

IsometricDragonfly56

The original version is pretty good too.

[deleted]

Here's a few I can think of: In the Line of Duty: The F.B.I. Murders Die Hard Inside Man Ocean's Eleven The Score The Brink's Job Reservoir Dogs Swordfish The Getaway Heist The Bank Job

stalinwasballin

Had to scroll through to find Heist (2001). Gene Hackman, Danny Devito, Delroy Lindo, Sam Rockwell, Patti Lupone and Rebecca Pidgeon with a plot twist to die for…

[deleted]

It was a decent movie. The F.B.I. murders one was actually based on a real incident were agents lost their lives trying to bring down robbers.

Tower Heist Operation Fortune Focus Now You See Me (film series) 21

Blkkatem0ss

I LOVE watching Focus the way they shot that movie is so pleasing to the eye

Reasonable-Wave8093

I like Tower Heist

techhead57

Bob Le Flambeur (Bob the gambler, very influential film) The Good Thief (not my favorite, but it's a remake of bob the gambler) Le Cercle Rouge (The Red Circle) Very influential on the heist genre, Melville is the first one I've seen that focused that much on the heist process, you'll see the connection to a lot of newer heist films.

shanobirocks

Melville is amazing. I love pretty much everything he did.

PantherEverSoPink

Nice call. When I watched this movie reservoir dogs dropped down in my film rating

lmao yea its a shame i never heard about its inspiration or connection to pelham at all, that or a did a good job avoiding it

the great train robbery

Any_Roof_6199

Dragged Across Concrete. (2018). This one flew under my radar. It is definitely worth a watch. The Thief (1981. Dir. By Michael Mann who dir. Heat, one of the best heist movies) The Driver (1978) The last two movies are mainstream heist movies.
