I don't know if they're under/over rated but I'm just going to chime in with this: World Wide Live is an absolute banger of a live album, up there with Thin Lizzy's Live and Dangerous, Motorhead's No Sleep till Hammersmith and Maiden's Live After Death

EnglishMajorRegret

UFO’s Strangers in the Night is my goat live album. I don’t know that I’ve ever actively put on a studio ufo track

7listens

Omg this is the first time I've seen someone mention UFO outside of the ghost town that is the UFO subreddit. If you want more I recommend Mechanix (after Strangers of the Night so all new songs). Also Phenomenon (which you'll recognize song from Strangers)

crackpotJeffrey

There's plenty of us out there. Love to love (strangers live) has one of the greatest solos ever.

PALM_ARE

Yeah, this album is pretty much the only UFO I spin, it's a timeless masterpiece.

7listens

Phenomenon and Mechanix are my favourite studio albums of theirs

Stylez_G_White

Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club is the best live album I’ve ever heard. Pure raw sound and energy. https://youtu.be/lQfUeLUgjFA?si=6T0rDtj1635Pb6CC

limprichard

I’ve never heard it! I’ll give it a spin. My faves are The Who Live at Leeds, B.B. King Live at the Regal, U2 Under a Blood Red Sky and the Kinks One for the Road. Edit to add Pink Floyd Is There Anybody Out There?

Rushfan_211

It's one of the greatest live albums ever made

DelRayTrogdor

Eh, I’m not even sure it’s the best Scorpions live album. Tokyo Tapes is what you’re looking for.

Rushfan_211

I'll give it a listen !

russellmzauner

100% go to live album. But it's psychedelic rock still at that point, so the other live album may be equally as good, just a whole different genre by the time they got there.

dogsledonice

POLAR NIGHTS

swiftmen991

Yes! I haven’t got to that album too much yet but I have read that it’s extremely good

sorengray

It's definitely up there with those. Also their Tokyo Tapes is, I would say, on par with all of them. 70s Scorpions is not to be missed!

xoomax

Thanks for this. I'm listening now on Plexamp with Tidal

mehwars

Scorpions Rating: ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE That is all

nycinoc

I was more of a BIG CITY, BIG CITY NIGHTS, fan

bizoticallyyours83

We eat the night we drink the time we make our dreams come true!

The_River_Is_Still

I just love how he throws completely unintelligible things into his lyrics. lol

dogsledonice

I counter with SAILS OF CHARON

bizoticallyyours83

Good pick

Comedian70

The Uli Jon Roth era is a whole different band IMHO. There are great reasons to love both forms the Scorpons took but I feel like they are different reasons.

swiftmen991

It’s a banger of aa song! Perfect recipe for hard rock anthem

[deleted]

[удалено]

Killzark

I heard Sails of Charon for the first time a few years ago and really fell in love with their 70s stuff with Uli. Dude is hands down one of the most underrated rock guitarists. Their 80s stuff is definitely Rated but I really think more people should check out their earlier music.

swiftmen991

FYI, uli has an amazing album titled scorpions revisited where he plays the songs with his new band. That’s how I found out about old scorpions

Better-Ambassador738

And I think Uli’s tour is still going. I caught it earlier this year in a tiny place and it was absolutely amazing! (and ticket prices were the most reasonable I’ve seen in years!) Scorpions Revisited is a phenomenal album!

hcashew

Uli's shows are super fun because the dude is a fucking wizard showman

swiftmen991

Loved his show when I saw him. He was very chatty with everyone as well. We were asking him to play specific songs

TheSlapAcademy

An instantly-recognizable vocalist, but I always felt bad for Klaus Meine going bald. That’s not very metal. Wait, Dio lost his hair, too, and he was as metal as it gets. I stand corrected.

dogsledonice

There's so, so many bald lead singers

Grimsrasatoas

I mean, Rob Halford for fucks sake. He’s basically THE heavy metal vocalist. Certainly top 3 along with Ozzy and maybe Bruce Dickinson. The third spot is currently up for debate

bizoticallyyours83

Look they've been around for a long time, it's just gonna happen to some old men at some point

SpiciestBoy

[Scorpions - Sails Of Charon - Musikladen TV (16.01.1978)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs5NOrYYV2s) This has been my favorite of theirs for a while.

kunstlinger

Exactly this.  Underrated.

horrormetal

MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE FROM THEM! It's incredible!!

Rocking_Ronnie

Scorps worked harder than anybody, they had to learn English but man Black Out , Love at First Sting and Savage Amusement was quite a run... I bet world wide they are bigger than we imagine.

Chubuwee

Yea Latin America fucking LOVES them

Etzell

I saw the Scorps 2 years ago, and had a blast. Mikkey Dee is a machine, and I'm glad that's where he ended up after Motorhead.

swiftmen991

He’s a beast! I thought he was German but he’s half Greek half finish or Swedish I think

wayne63

In Trance, Lovedrive,l and Animal Magnetism have been my rotation for decades.

Special-Top-8761

The zoo!!

slingbladde

Same, all bangers.

japanandelsewhere

I just listened to China White for the first time in a while this morning, all great albums

Nerditter

It's kind of amazing that they formed in 1965. Finding out how foundational Scorpions was to early metal and even to Krautrock was a surprise. (They're featured on one of the multi-disc Krautrock samplers I have.) I still haven't ventured into listening to them, because they're not really my jam. But I had always thought their big moment was just the 80s.

swiftmen991

Same! I was shocked when I heard their earlier stuff. I saw people refer to them as glam a few times but the earlier stuff is really foundational rock

Rysilk

And yet my favorite album of theirs is the 2015 Return to Forever

HeavyMetalTriangle

I legit thought they were an 80’s band. I had no idea they are from the 60’s. My mind is blown…

swiftmen991

Yeah that’s a very big misconception. I think their commercialisation with jabs happened in the 80s

paranoid_70

I wouldn't really call them a 60s band. At that time they were kids mostly playing covers. They were definitely a 70s band though and were gaining momentum in Europe and Japan. The early 80s is when they got pretty huge in the States.

Dixon_Uranus

Here’s some super pedantry: The band name is Scorpions, not the Scorpions. Apparently they get upset if you call them “the Scorpions”. I guess it makes sense, you wouldn’t also say the Coldplay or the Maroon 5.

timmermania

*Eagles* have entered the chat.

reddittheguy

Sparks too.

HeavyMetalTriangle

My grandma would totally refer to Coldplay or Maroon 5 as “the” lol.

Abdul_Exhaust

Same thing with Pretenders, although by now they don't mind if folks say "The Pretenders"

perpterds

Insert Dave grohl saying "it's just the pretender... Only one, guys!" 😜

SHRAPNEL89

Your comment reminded me of the first minute of this lol https://youtu.be/qO-mSLxih-c?si=Neri4SyUfpHyTj1k

CLOWNSwithyouJOKERS

Rated/Underrated. Saw Scorpions with Deep Purple and Dio way back in '02, my first real rock concert and they kicked serious ass live. Been a big fan since. Dio also kicked ass because he's Dio and Dio was/is a god.

paranoid_70

I saw that tour. Really great show, I love all those bands. I think I even got a free ticket for donating blood at the Red CRoss.

roughtimes

The unofficial front band for the CIA helping bring down communism. Check out the podcast: winds of change It's pretty amazing, especially if you're a scorpions fan. Edited: words

decoy79

I’ve had this queued for a long time but just haven’t gotten around to it. Not a Scorpions fan but this seems right up my alley.

crudedrawer

It is a GREAT story with a cameo from an unexpected despotic world leader at the end!

roughtimes

Yeah it's the story itself that's pretty remarkable more than the band themselves.

Johnnycarroll

That's what I came to say. Really interesting podcast, I enjoyed it.

chrisslooter

I love me some Kraut-Rock. I saw The Scorpions on the Monstors of Rock tour, playing after Van Hagar and Metallica. Before the show, I thought the lineup order was wrong. I would not say that they blew away the other bands, but they definitely were the right call to be the headliner. They were the best band that night for sure (as far as lineup order goes).

paranoid_70

Interesting. When I saw them on the Monsters of Rock tour Van Halen played last.

chrisslooter

I saw them in Tampa, Kingdom Come didn't play. May have been a shuffled night because of traveling.

dascrackhaus

they were never my cup of meat, but they had crazy huge sustained success. IMO if you’ve filled stadiums you’re properly rated, and my snobby opinion of their music doesn’t affect that rating.

ccc1942

Never had meat in a cup, but I’m not opposed to it

lewdlesion

I LOVE their song "The Zoo"!

Sourflow

Their late 70’s stuff when Uli Jon Roth was guitarist was incredible. I highly recommend you guys listen to taken by force.

imacmadman22

I’ve been a fan of and the Scorpions since first hearing them in 1978 and I’ve seen them live three times, in 1979, 1984 and 1988. Live, they always put on a great show. I think their earlier songwriting is some their best. Some of the later songwriting is a little formulaic but when you have been around as long as they have I imagine it’s not easy coming up with new material regularly. After “Love At First Sting” it seemed like they started to rely on a formula and I lost interest. I have all of their early albums, from their first album up to “World Wide Live” after that one I kind of stopped listening. I did actually like “Eye ll Eye” as strange as it was, it has some good moments. I also liked “Humanity: Hour 1” but I still tend to like the early albums the most. They are a legendary band and deserving of the recognition they get. I don’t think they are overrated.

burnsandrewj2

A lot bigger in Europe for obvious reasons. Overrated would be likely to be said during a time that metal was big but rated to say they have stood the test of time plus notable. If you’re a fan and since they are still rocking it could be easily said that they are underrated. Hope and assume you enjoyed the show! 🤘🏻

Beneficial-Salt-6773

Scorps Rock!

Wildcat_Dunks

It's always bothered me a little that there are neither scorpions nor hurricanes in Germany, yet the biggest hit for the German band Scorpions is about a hurricane and is sung in English.

Don_Frika_Del_Prima

Animal magnetism is one hell of a song.

CubeEarthShill

I saw Megadeth with Scorpions in 2017. We mainly went to see Megadeth, but Scorpions put on the better live show. They sounded great and had great energy. I listened to so much Scorpions as a kid, but they kind of fell off my radar when I got into heavier stuff. Forgot how awesome they were until that show.

potato--cakes

‘Always somewhere’ was our first dance at my wedding

Lothar_28

I love the older Scorpions. Pretty much everything from Lovedrive on back. Anything newer just really doesn't do anything for me. Not saying anything bad, it just doesn't hold me or really keep me interested.

Vin-Metal

There were a few gems on Animal Magnetism and Blackout, but I otherwise agree. I still listen to Tokyo Tapes pretty regularly.

bizoticallyyours83

I think Savage Amusement is a pretty good album too. +1 to Animal Magnetism, Love Drive and, Black Out.

Woodie626

Of all the bands in the world, they're one of'em.

bizoticallyyours83

They're a good band and they're still going. I'm not a big fan or anything, but I enjoy listening to them and I buy their music.

paigeken2000

They are my favorite band and to me, Fly to The Rainbow is a perfect rock album (seconded only by Blackout). Also, you got a Schenker brother in your band, how can you be anything but effing amazing. And Klaus' voice... perfection.

Snarkan_sas

Love the Scorpions! I wish I had been able to see them back in the day.

timsstuff

1988 Monsters of Rock with Metallica and Van Hagar. Dokken and Kingdom Come as well. We left during Michael Anthony's shitty 20 minute bass solo but we had already seen all the good stuff. Metallica absolutely destroyed, but Scorps were awesome. One of my all time favorite bands.

Abdul_Exhaust

I saw them in 1992, their show was fun & energetic! Good to know they still bring it.

Special-Top-8761

I seen them in Munich in 1983!! OMG, WHAT A FUCKIN CONCERT

mjc7373

I was very disappointed when I found out they were the band chosen by Rodger Waters to play The Wall when the Berlin Wall came down, but after hearing some of it I thought they sounded pretty good.

DavesGroovyWaves

They're just called Scorpions. No "The"

DavesGroovyWaves

They're just called Scorpions. No "The"

Tortuga_Jake

I saw them at the old Met Center in Bloomington, MN in 1982 (opening acts Girlschool and Iron Maiden). One of my fondest live music memories from my youth.

scots

Watch a live performance of *Still Loving You* from the *Savage Amusement* album and get back to us, OP. Incredible band.

timsstuff

Album is Love At First Sting, bud.

scots

D'oh! So it is, it's been a while

ToujoursFidele3

Nobody ever talks about it, but their cover of Tainted Love is one of my favorite songs ever.

BigE6300

All I ask of anybody who thinks they’re overrated is to listen to the first 2:17 of Sails of Charon. If you still think so, so be it.

AliS83

I think a lot of their fame has been claimed by "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Wind of Change", but they have so many other great songs that do not get the fame in the big picture of 80's rock music. Personally, I think Love at First Sting is an all time great album.

Persona_Non_Grata_

Not directly related to your question, but this was a fun listen: https://open.spotify.com/show/3vikAuFxKVNe2GBZC61IYD?si=RCsjiiIbRMaD4XPjyrX88g Conspiracy theory that the US via their CIA penned Winds Of Change in hopes of toppling Russia the way the Berlin Wall fell.

swiftmen991

It’s such a mental theory

Persona_Non_Grata_

Absolutely bonkers but one of the more fun, less doomsday conspiracy theories to entertain, I suppose.

Fletch4Life

Underrated. The good is on par with Priest, Maiden, Ozzy, Dio etc. Been around longer, much bigger outside the US. Still huge in US. Transcended decades, styles, time… they get talked about but not as much as Priest and Maiden or Sabbath. They are on par. Early is very influential

MiyamotoKnows

Always have been a moderate fan (big fan of Rock You Like A Hurricane and a few other "hit" tracks). Saw them live once and they beat my expectations considerably.

The_Mystery_Knight

https://youtu.be/aAlmsh84eMk?si=eNMByPNpJTzelBM3 Unrelated, but this is probably my favorite song mash up

ToddBradley

For some reason, I thought they retired 4 or 5 years ago. I loved their stuff from the late 70s to the early 80s. Once their production became too smooth and radio friendly, I lost interest. But Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism, and Blackout are wonderful to my ears.

BuckyD1000

They lost me a bit during their rise to commercial success, but the Uli Roth era of Scorpions was amazing. They've been an excellent live act throughout their career.

IDigYourStyle

This post reminded me that for over 20 years I've been low-key wondering what guitar equipment The Scorpions use. I'm not a big fan of that genre anymore, but those guitar tones are insanely good.

hcashew

Ive been to many concerts in my life and watch a lot of full historic concerts on YouTube and rate them. Revisiting a recorded Scorpions concert at Rockenplast in 83 ws an absolute surprise and they really kicked ass in their prime

Delaroc23

Properly rated

doctafknjay

Not because I listen to them but solely based on Sebastian Bach saying something about the scorpions in his episodes of trailer park boys, I'm gonna say they rock!

duckgeek

I have a childhood memory of being introduced to the Scorpions on the Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle show. Loving You Sunday Morning is what I think they showed. Thought it might be a false memory, but I just looked and Mark Hudson did have a business relationship with them, so I guess it's possible.

One_Journalist3031

The winds of chasnge

Nenadumis

The first rock band I heard as a kid, I love them. Scorpions are a not well advertised band but they are banging!

purdy1985

I've never heard of them. I was assuming they were a new band and was shocked to find they had songs with hundreds of millions of streams. I'm assuming they weren't that popular in the UK or it's just a massive blind spot for me.

CurlingTrousers

Rated

alionandalamb

If they rock you like a hurricane, then they're underrated. If they fail to rock you like a hurricane, then they're overrated. As for me personally, my hurricane was significantly rocked.

parker_fly

Great music. Boring live show.

7listens

I don't know or care about how a band is rated. But Scorpions rocks.

stratdog25

I saw them 5 farewell tours ago and they still brought it. Love At First Sting was a vital during my high school years (early 90s)

SADDS_17

I'm not 100% sure the search was accurate based on past results I've had but Bing says they've sold more records than Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. They're wildly successful but I don't think anyone believes they're overrated. I just started combing through their albums again and there's a lot to appreciate. They may be a bit underrated in the US but not worldwide.

Orochimaru27

Freakin LOVE Scorpions. One of my all time fav bands.

GRVrush2112

Big fan of their earlier era stuff with Uli Jon Roth. And it’s kind of a shame their stadium era overshadows it as much as it does. Don’t get me wrong the stadium era material is good. But the Uli stuff is just some of the best classic proto-metal hard rock I think is out there. Was fortunate enough to get to see Uli Jon Roth in Houston a couple months ago. Did a set of solo classical inspired material followed by a set of Uli-Era scorpions tunes. Excellent show

botjstn

no one like you is one of my favorites of all time

Yandhi42

They have some top tier singles. I’ve never listened to a whole album though

Cosmic_Surgery

Not a fan, but any band that has been rocking the world for almost 60 years deserves respect

MichaelDaniels1987

Overthinking

DragonicBlaziken7

If Dream Theater didn't exist, they would be my undisputed favorite. Dad introduced them to me really young, was in middle school when Humanity Hour 1 and Sting in the Tail came out, went back and listened to their oldest stuff in high school: all amazing. There is something about their vibe that feels so unique compared to the other classic and glam rock of their contemporaries. The melodies and tones in songs like Holiday or We'll Burn the Sky sound so exotic, for lack of a better word. Seems like people in general appreciate their legacy, but I do wish their popular perception was more than just Rock You Like a Hurricane, Wind of Change, and No One Like You (despite those all being bangers). Was super excited when I heard Another Piece of Meat playing one time in a dining hall at university.

livingadailyhell

I traded my Gloria Estefan tape for a Scorpions tape with Rona S., I was 12 and it was 1987. I played it in secret on my smaller boombox. I wasn’t allowed that devil music. Looking back, I’m guessing it was there 1979 Best of Album. Eventually, my mom found it and threw it away, but I was hooked. My favorite song changes with my life. At first the zoo, then as a heartfelt teen, Still Loving You. Falling in love, There’s no one like you. And now Winds of Change is my karaoke pick. This band helped me navigate my youth and keeps me rocking today.

dflow608

The podcast investigating the “CIA wrote Winds of Change” was very entertaining.

Extension-Detail5371

Underrated

crudedrawer

Just rated

krokus_headhunter

Saw the Scorps in 1980 on the Animal Magnetism Tour. They were in between Def Leppard (first album) and Ted Nugent (Scream Dream). I saw something in the paper before the show that said the Scorpions were well known to be great live. They were. They were the best band on the bill and I went out and bought AM as soon as I can. They were absolutely fantastic live.

timmermania

I quite like the Scorpions, but I'm not sure I'd say I love them. However, I've been listening to music (and them) since 1982, and over the years I've come to the conclusion that "**No One Like You**" is the *PERFECT metal song*. The apex of the genre. Absolute perfection. It's not my favorite song, probably not even in my top 25. But it's certainly my favorite by them. And every time I hear it, I just shake my head at it's well-crafted blistering precision and excellence. Anyway, that's my opinion. Edit: also seen them live several times, back in the late 80s.

Kilbim

Rated.

Flimsy-Hunter-7041

Winds of change hits something deep in my soul. Not a big fan or a hater but that songs excellent. Globally the Scorpions are bigger than they are here in the states. Winds of change is one of the 100 biggest selling songs of all time. That ain't no small taters!

konjoukosan

Holiday, while not a heavy song is one of my favorites of all time

tinyhawkprotosser2

Scorpions - probably not talked about as much, but an amazing band, one of the oldest to still stick around as well. So many good songs, their older work is a treat to listen to

wheresbill

One of the best ballad voices of our time

stevil77

Underrated based on ability alone, i think

Xenon8247

The hits are overrated, their back catalogue is underrated

gynoceros

I like their unison bends.

have_heart

Probably underrated honestly. I don’t think I’ve heard a bad song from them. Anecdotally: I was absolutely blown away when I was listening to an interview on a rock station of this dude with a THICK German accent and come to find out it was the lead singer of The Scorpions. Never knew that lol

Arkhampatient

Still Loving You is a god damn masterpiece. One of if not the best 1980s power ballads

voobaha

Scorpions is a proper noun and should be capitalized accordingly

sorengray

As someone that grew up as a teen in the 80s and was a big fan of the Scorpions Blackout & Love at First Sting (they kinda lost me after that). I can say their 70s body of work is highly underrated. I didn't even really get into 70s Scorpions until like a decade or so ago. Now, Taken By Force is one of my favorite Scorpions albums. Ull Roth is a guitar god. Check out [Sails Of Charon](https://youtu.be/Zs5NOrYYV2s?si=F-cTc1QUWhlb9lOL) 🤘

nmathew

I saw them in Fresno in 99, and that's still the best live performance I've ever seen.  So for me, underrated.

Due-Astronaut3802

I would hesitate to say that a band with 50 years of history is overrated. They enjoyed a huge wave of commercial success during the early MTV era that rules out underrated. That leaves rated. They released incredible works all through the 1970s that is revered by musicians and avid music listeners. I think it only fair that a credible rock band be allowed to release some commercial stuff and make a little bank.

MrPanchole

Scorpions were at their best in the early 80s (well, 79-85), with *World Wide Live* underscoring this.

pabstbluerhythm12

Prog era: Criminally underrated Cock rock era: Awful

Dogyears69

I loved them until Blackout . Then it became a bit weak. Early is best. Got pretty weak after the wall came down.

makingmozzarella

Underrated

davFaithidPangolin

Fairly rated, plenty of justly deserved classics and great deep cuts for fans

argenman

Saw them in concert twice and they ROCKED! Very great band!

goaelephant

Wind Of Change and especially Send Me An Angel still bring me goosebumps

anxious_apathy

I think their music and songs have aged a LOT better than many of the other competing bands of that time period. Even compared to a lot of the "hair" ish bands that are still active and popular today. But as far as rated is concerned, probably "rated" but feels like under rated due to the graceful aging.

BeenThruIt

The High School kid in me wants to say Underrated, because only us metal people listened to them. But then, 20 something me would just say Rated because they grabbed the acclaim they deserved by hitting the world's most perfect timing with Winds Of Change. At no time would I ever image they are Overrated. They are truly a monumental band.

Lechatponcee

They are rated. I have been at their concert, it's a chief's kiss! Absolutely deserved fame.

Primary_Somewhere_98

I don't know much about them but Wind of Change is a fantastic track.

djazzie

I personally can’t stand them, but I know plenty of old school rockers who do.

CentreLeftGuy

“Still Loving You” is my favorite power ballad and I’ve got a Love At First Sting tee I wear sometimes. I love Scorpions, including the early stuff.

dodadoler

Ok for their time. But that time has passed

Le_Botmes

Early Scorpions is the best. Really gives off a Yes/Genesis/Pink Floyd kinda vibe.

Pinorckle

Wind of change is surely a classic that will last forever

DangerSwan33

I don't think they're a band that anyone really talks about at all anymore.  I guess that means that I think they're underrated, but I don't really know that people "rate" bands like that, the same way they do the giants like Beatles, Stones, etc.  I think that maybe the better term is "underSTATED". They'll forever be known for one arena rock hit, with Hurricane, and another reasonably big, long lasting hit with No One Like You.  I think that No One Like You is an absolutely fantastic song, and should be more popular than Hurricane.  But most of the rest of their music, especially during the Schenker years, didn't really have that arena rock sound, and so it's not as well played or often talked about.  During the hair metal years, they were probably the most talented of the REALLY big bands - poison, skid row, Crue - but not quite as talented as some of the B-tier bands. So they never really got solidified as a classic hair metal band OR a virtuoso band.  Personally, my favorite album of theirs is also their last - Humanity: Vol 1. That album came seemingly out of nowhere, and had a MASSIVE sound, and fit right into an era where powermetal was really having a resurgence, but nothing really ever came off of it.  At this point, I think that both Schenkers, D And UJR are great guitarists, and are guys that most actual guitarists really look up to, but they wrote an arena rock classic that probably leashed them to a specific sound and fanbase that they were never able to transcend.

Powerful-Garage6316

I was shocked when I heard their shit from the late 70s. I always lumped them in with motley cru and other hair metal slop, but their guitarist is unbelievably talented

fatnuts_mcgee

Overrated. Not even Beavis and Butthead liked these guys. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A97cUxIyxZc&pp=ygUdYmVhdmlzIGFuZCBidXR0aGVhZCBzY29ycGlvbnM%3D

PapaBlemish

Can't stand the Scorpions. Full stop.

wstone5594

Never really cared for them.

gorka_la_pork

I once got to meet Saliva on a USO tour while I was deployed and their bassist had a LOT to say about the Scorpions and how they were a big inspiration for their sound. So from my experience these guys in particular have a similar reputation to the Butthole Surfers; they may not have massive pop appeal beyond one or two songs, but they're your favorite band's favorite band and if you're a part of their scene they're already gods and need no introduction.

CodenameJinn

Not a fan. But no hate to those who are. They're basically German ACDC. They have one sound they do well. But it makes all of their material sound the same to me. Again. It's not a bad sound. It just gets boring... Like George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

horrormetal

I respect your opinion, but I think that their early stuff sounds completely different than the MTV friendly stuff that came later

Prestigious_Wait_858

Not rated. Very bland and boring metal lite band. There was a glut of these bands during this time of music. Yes. They had chart success. Doesn't make them good- just popular for the masses.
