You absolutely have to listen to Steven Wilson, as well as his band, Porcupine Tree. For Steven Wilson, start with his 2015 album, *Hand. Cannot. Erase.* For Porcupine Tree, start with their 2005 album, *Deadwing*.
Buying new soul by Porcupine Tree is a song I forget exists and then occasionally return to (I own it on vinyl but never remember until I'm surprised and play it). I get lost to that music. So good
Some of these aren't really new,and have been around awhile but still pretty current. They range from blues rock to southern rock to hard rock, stoner rock and metal etc

Clutch most certainly isn’t new but shoutout to them. They’ve released some great music for 30+ years, all with the same original band members. They’re also one of the best bands you will ever see live.
My recommendations for a popular modern rock band would be The Black Keys
My personal recommendation for a lesser known rock band is the band The Districts. My favorite song of theirs is [Long Distance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2HpX5uJS5w)
Greta Van Fleet - Often compared to Led Zeppelin, this young band brings a classic rock vibe with a modern twist. Royal Blood - A duo that combines heavy rock with bluesy undertones, delivering powerful and catchy tunes. Highly Suspect - With their gritty sound and dynamic vocals, they infuse elements of alternative rock and grunge into their music. Ghost - Combining metal with theatrical elements, their unique style and imagery create a captivating experience for listeners. The Struts - Known for their high-energy performances and glam rock influences, they offer a refreshing take on classic rock. Rival Sons - Drawing inspiration from blues and hard rock, they deliver soulful vocals and electrifying guitar riffs. IDLES - For punk enthusiasts, this British band offers raw and charged music with an intense live presence.
No, I haven't gotten to see them live. I would love to. I hear that they put on a great show. Gethin Davies is an awesome drummer. I would love to see him live.

[Survive](https://youtu.be/Q1COdeNiBA8?si=ebL7hYjZuNCo6TVs)
I guarantee you'll be a fan after those three songs.
I'd strongly suggest Whiskey Myers. Some of their stuff leans country, some rock, there's definitely a dash of grunge influence to their sound too. All their stuff is solid, but based on what your tastes are, id recommend starting with their self titled album, or "Mud"
Not certain what you consider a “modern” rock band , and these are not new bands but maybe you will find something you like.

Look up the chats, they're from Australia, they rock
Also, not a new band, but queens of the Stone age still makes great music and they've been cranking out god tier tunes since the late 90s
If you are into heavier stuff there's a metal band with a small following underground called killer couture. I think they are based out of California. They use actual power tools in their music on stage lmao. It's not my favorite but I dig it they are talented and deserve attention

Based on the ones you are a fan of, how about The Strokes? They are indie rock tho
Are The Strokes really all that “new”?
Ah my bad
There is no such thing as a new, modern rock band. All the best rock bands are from the 70s.
Korn Otep Three Days Grace Limp Bizkit Evanescence Finger Eleven Avenged Sevenfold Saving Abel Flyleaf Papa Roach Ghost Linkin Park The Pretty Reckless Skillet Tool Nickelback Five Finger Death Punch Halestorm Theory of a Deadman Saliva Disturbed Godsmack Arch Enemy Shinedown Creed Slipknot Kittie Daughtry Seether Mudvayne
Are any of these actually new?
Ghost is, if you mean ‘current’. They’ve been around since….2010?
I like how dudes in their 40s and 50s count as "new modern rock" to you. I think you need to look for some new stuff yourself.
