The last verse has me in pieces -
"In a land there's a town,
And in the town there's a house
In that house is a woman.
In that woman there's a heart that I love.
I'm gonna take it with me when I go."
~Dust in the Wind by Kansas~
I think lots of these comments didn’t read the actual post, because lots of these are more obscure songs or ones that wouldn’t hit the same without vocals.
Dust in the Wind has no such issues. You could play it on a kazoo and I’d still get emotional after the initial burst of surprised laughter.
Cherish, by the Association. “ My Dad- can’t remember singers name-sorry, I can find it later. Distant Lover, Marvin Gaye -live version. Passover-Joy division ( no religious connotations

Soldier Side by System of a Down. The full song is really heartbreaking and I actually cried a few times when I heard it for the first time before. Its a real good emotional and well constructed song.
I’m a metalhead, but there are still someone songs that have made me cry, such as “Wings for Marie, pt.1 and pt.2” by Tool, “The Garden” and “Losing it” by Rush, and most of Disturbed’s *Evolution* album, despite it being their worst album, got me through some really hard times. The Cure’s *Disintegration* album makes me want to cry, and certain songs on Pink Floyd’s *The Wall* don’t necessarily make me want to cry, but they really make me feel empty and depressed. *The Wall* has to be one of the most depressing concept albums ever.
Even though I’m Leaving - Luke Combs
All of Me - John Legend. Might just be me that gets misty eyed since it’s the song my wife walked down the aisle to.
