Anyone that can do the behind back dribble escape move thing and knock down the quick shot. It's fucking unguardable. I know it's coming, I know the move, I know the direction they're going, I know they're shooting, I'm moving my player in that direction with my hands up and gold challenger but 2K just won't let me guard it. The game literally freezes you in place and says no you're not allowed to play defense.

ashpres

Just play their offhand. They do the behind the back right into you. They are just spamming it, they aren’t doing it when it’s useful.

xDGNx2K

Then they double behind the back hesi boost around a screen..

Viraldamus

Shhhh you’re making too much sense

withadabofranch

You know this works against most ppl, but as a Jamal Murray spammer my self all I gotta do is do a size up cross and btb to counter you playing my off hand. Or I can just do the btb twice, but most ppl don’t know how to do that

yaflyness

Man fuck alllaat…, I can fly…

IhateRandoms2k

Nah, i can play you sides and tight, i can force you always to go in one direction and then your behind the back is useless, you either beat me the direction i want you to go for an open 3 or middy or you beat me to the paint and hope i don t contest/block you. But you are not beating me to either of those options. You just said you are a spammer, so i will get in your head and by not allowing you to do the only thing you can do and easely clamp you as most of ya ll can t adjust.

Old_Town_Hole

Lamelo btb better btw

Viraldamus

I’ve literally made my guard builds to have block so i can play the off hand and behind the back spam forcing them to drive and i smack the shit out of their pathetic layup attempt. 😈

Candid_Opposite_8444

" the game freezes you in place" is the most frustrating part about playing defense in this game. It happens very frequently.

Cynical_badger

The worst one is the closeout animation where your player freezes and does that lean back animation like he got caught sleeping. Whoever implemented that shit needs a reality check.

PapaG1useppe

It is not unguardable bruh come on😂 you can literally stand in front of most of these spammers and barely need to adjust to stay in front

Wide_Freedom_2870

the only bad part about the move Is that you kill the first few spammed ones perfectly clamp him up multiple times and they have the energy to hit it as many times as it takes until 2k freezes your player and lets them get open. now if they didn't allow people to do it over and over again it would be fine. like if I block you four in a row you should not just be able to do another one and freeze me on the spot

CanIBake

Lower perimeter defense = higher chance at stun animation. Also, overplaying/aggressively moving left stick back and forth = higher chance at stun. You just need to stay still, it's the honest truth. I barely even touch left stick and just play on their non dominant side, they always do the move right into me allowing me to get a bump steal, or if they try to go the other way after i'm cutting off one, since I'm not moving the left stick at all I have no momentum to fight when I double tap right trigger to close out (fast feet badge)

poltar20

Im ngl my players alll have 86 perimeter and I usually get stunned when I STOP moving😭.

CanIBake

The trick is not moving to begin with, stopping on a dime, changing directions, closing out too aggressively are all things that can trigger stun animations

poltar20

Thats terrible game mechanics... I shouldn’t get froze in place because the guy in front of me does an in and out and goes nowhere😭. Almost every time I get stunned I’m still in perfect guarding position the defense on this game is iffy asf.

Timely_Engineering44

In cases like this I’ve learned to kind of just let go of L2 and stand there with hands up. They kind of just go left and right in one spot and wait for you to follow them to a spot and then they go behind the back to a new spot and shoot. Just don’t move and keep your hands up.

IhateRandoms2k

Don t want to be rude... But it s been like what? 2 months since everyone does the same move with Murray behind the back... You don t see it comming, clearly, as if you would you d slide to his off hand for an easy bump, or even press steal for an easy steal if you got the attribute. 87 perimeter D is more than enough to stop that! But if you are out of position, yes the move is very OP, but it s just mainly lack of anticipation. For OP s question, i don t really mind coming up against any type of build, the 98 99 perimeter d/steal builds are a bit annoying, but it is what it is. I absolutely dispize playing with floor spacing slashers PG s tho. Bums made that build just to score, nothing else, and they also trash!

Dismal_Gear4942

if they 6'5 and up i just stand still while they spam it and wait for the animation of shooting starts to put my hand up. if they got patty mills i normally play to the the off ball hand and force a drive. hope my center blocks it or they pull a middy i can contest

Toyota_AE86

The black plate hybrid lockdown that averages 2 PPG and shoots 19%. You know they’re quitting within the first minute then you get stuck playing against their AI that can now shoot like curry and won’t let you move on offense.

oldmatespc

This💯

broly9139

The true 99 steal 95 strength right stick demons. Got graded out in pro am on my 92 bh build because i got 7 tos in the first 3 mins of the game. Bro was literally strpping as soon as the ball hit the floor and once i got cold i didnt have to dribble.

Vivid361

The dribble gods that have the crab move on lock. Particularly when a screener is involved. Some of them are unguardable. Particularly with Patty Mills jump shot. Can have two defensive minded builds playing sides and they still get the shot off and green it open.

Johan_Sebastian_Cock

I still don't know what crabbing is and at this point I'm too afraid to ask

Optimal-Barnacle2771

It’s when the offensive player puts the defensive player on his back. You can’t contest the shot. Some people are really skilled at putting themselves in that position using certain dribble moves and they can be a pain to guard, especially when trying to navigate screens.

Kamiccolo47

And everytime I get crabbed I think of Ginóbili blocking Harden. 2k pls lemme get the Ginøbili block package bruh

poltar20

Issue is if they add contests from behind they also have to add way more fouls from behind so it’s a lose lose defensively.

Difficult_Mixture103

It’s sweats stealing at half court, like let a guy scan the floor man. They get one, then I’m on that shit so they send two.

Defiant_Pineapple202

ayy i gotta 91 steal but them mfs with 96 steal be buggin

Frostyzwannacomehere

Dey be reachin all the time mane

Frostyzwannacomehere

Some get cooked cuz the spam ts, it’s annoying even when you cook em cuz it’s weird

LaMelgoatBall

Almost every time I see a 96 steal build I know exactly how they’re gonna play lol. All you have to do is wait for them to reach and you’re open

CanIBake

I love playing against people like you when I'm on any of my builds with steal. The answer to your issues and what will help you immensely: stop trying to throw leak out passes, especially if you're a point guard. When I see a point guard who passes the ball up court as soon as it's inbounded, I know that I can get 5-6 steals easily that game. If you dribble the ball up court, or pass to somebody in the backcourt who can dribble it up, I can't do shit because of the unpluckable badge, and tbh if the steals you're talking about are bump steals/blitzes then you need to work or avoiding doubles before they get there, not panicking once the double is already there

Viraldamus

It’s annoying but i just moving cross or behind the back them and leave then in the dust and go contact dunk their dumbass center 😈. Also in half court i use regular breakdown while scanning the floor because your less likely to get plucked then when you just stand in front of them. I would hold L2 but when im scanning the floor i have icons up and some genius at 2k thought it would be a bright idea to have the protect ball button to also be the icon for the center.

TAC82RollTide

It's not necessarily a build, but a certain situation. If I'm on my 6-6 SG and get placed at SF against a 6-8/6-9 with high finishing, it's an absolute nightmare. I only have like 55 interior defense on that build, and if they slide past you just a little bit, it's a wrap. They're gonna score. I've been cooked by a 3pt hunter before, but it's rare. Them slashers will eff your world up.

gh6st

This. If you can get a switch do it immediately. If not you’re in for a long game. Playing those bigger guards with strength and high layup is so annoying. And it always seems to happen when you’re on the build that isn’t capable of defending it.

dopemanduds

yup slashers that know how to actually slash kill me every single time man

yVegfoodstamps

I wish I had 55 interior d lolll im making it work with 35

1BIGJOHNSTUDD1

Atm my 7 foot glass cleaning spot up is having a hard time against those 6'8 centres. Just haven't got the speed to match them.

40innaDeathBasket

As a 6'8 center, I hate 7'0+ Break Starters. Obscene pass accuracy for no reason allows them to work as a hub on offense, sit up top and just sling dimes everywhere. Takes me away from the rim, kills my help D for my weaker teammates. Rebounding/Interior is usually high too and that creates a diff set of problems.

xSoloxBluex

Little guards - the good ones lol

Kamiccolo47

The 7'3 build with 95 post control, strength, and close shot. Lame af

DarnellPhantom

Bigs that post cheese well are sooooo annoying they’ll just standing dunk you to death if you actually start to play the lane

Mandingo_magnet

as a big its another big who spams those green post and middy fades. Especially if they have the pf cheesing with screens by standing next to them

TheRancid_Baboon

As PG, Defensive Menace can be super annoying to match up against esp if your teammates aren’t the best If I have good teammates and I’m matched up vs one of these dudes I’ll just take a back seat on offense and space out to keep this mf away from the ball the best I can But if my teammates can’t pass well, can’t efficiently create their own looks, can’t space properly, don’t know when to cut etc. it’s usually gg lol bc vs most guys I can always create an efficient shot if I have to regardless of spacing, but against these guys it’s always super difficult if they’re good

the_black_surfer

A mid range, high strength, post scoring guard if I’m not on a lock build. It can’t just be the build though. They have to be really good at getting to their spots and they have to use hop jumpers that I’m not familiar with.

devkonz

Those 6’8” strong ass pg’s that full court press. Hella annoying dawg

Kid_Crayola

soon as the ball is passed in bro is sprinting at your dribble hand

TheRancid_Baboon

Esp if they’re also a post scorer and have a stretch big on their team like goddamn bruh I didn’t load up the REC just to get bullied like this 😭

bigbronze

For my Inside the arc threat of a center; it’s 3 level centers who stay away from the paint. If they have a guard who actually passes, my paint protection will be minimized

creamyspinachdips

- Dribble gods with high 3pt + screen to get open, it’s just unguardable. I’m not a PG but I always see those in Rec - 3pt shooters camping in the corners almost the whole game

LordFenix_theTree

Shot hunters and floor spacing slashers are Uber annoying. I get it, you want to score as easily as possible and have your team protect you like a small child on defense.

Maverick11171117

In the corner w my pacifier 👌

Twamoy

Small child is crazy. 😭

3much4u

Floor spacing slasher PGs. idk why on this sub it's considered a bad build. people are looking too much into the name of the build and not the attributes. they usually have 94 3 ball, 94 driving dunk and 92 ball handle. These guys can spam behind screens and either hit easy 3s or just dunk meter to the rim

Historical_Bar583

Toughest? If i had to pick any build since i usually dont get cooked I'd have to pick any fast guard build with 90+ three and 90+ dunk. If you dont guard them correctly or miss step once your done

Dely03

3pt shot hunter,floor spacing slashers.

Pristine-Meeting4389

Stretches and glass locks are my worst nightmare

gh6st

GOOD 3 point shot hunters.. they’re almost impossible to stop, especially if they know how to use screens/L2 Cancel/have Patty Mills, etc. The bigger guards/wings with high strength and layup/post control. If you don’t have strength on your build there’s pretty much nothing you can do to stop them from getting to the rim. Last has gotta be the lockdowns, namely high strength, 95+ steal. Some of the animations you get with HOF interceptor are ridiculous and Immovable Enforcer is the best defensive badge in the game IMO. It’s like what clamps was supposed to be all these years.

Operator-rocky1

My center builds usually are lacking in the athletic department so it’s builds that can shoot and move around confusing me

Competitive-Pass89

96 steal builds with stats in every category. That 96 steal is annoying in the right hands

Alarming-Strain-9821

3 point shot hunter tbh. But I get more pissed at the steals. Mfs just rip you regardless of position or ball handle rating. Them two the worst

MotherAntelope1425

"dribble gods" more like dribbling dipshits are the most annoying thing I've ever seen in this game. Like they do a behind the back just to do another behind the back right back to where they were and end up right in front of you, where you haven't even moved. Then you can just steal it and make them look like a dumbass (my favorite). It's so stupid

JayZeeThree

My teammates who don’t pass

Kid_Crayola

it’s the quick guards spamming dribble moves around screens with the instant release threes when the rest of their team is playing 5 out or the locks with 90 speed and strength who full court press the entire game running into your ball hand and abusing passing lanes

buzzcity222

Post scorers when I’m playing 1s. It’s just so confusing to me how that could actually be fun to someone.

Timely_Engineering44

On the offensive side any dribble god that uses screens and shoots 3s are super annoying. They’re Not impossible to stop but just annoying. As far as defensive builds Any build with a 94+ perimeter defense i hate being guarded by them it’s like trying to get past a sticky wall. Also with high steal that intercepts every freaking pass. I hate those especially.

_OfficialProta

It’s less about the build for me and more about the style of play. I like to think of myself as a slightly above average defender for my build, but when I play quick shot creators/good shot hunters that suck behind every screen and bury every shot it’s stupidly annoying. Doesn’t happen often but still. And don’t let them have a decent pass awareness. I be praying one of my teammates quick so I can stick the AI on them and slow em down some lol. Also shoutout to the dudes who never stop moving and play like curry, having me run around for 19 seconds before ultimately getting bumped by one of their teammates giving them the sliver of space they need to get the open 3

xDGNx2K

Elite dribblers (love/hate actually, appreciate the skill, but it sucks having to work overtime on D and they still get you 😅) and any mfn post hooker, shits broken…

Specialist-Orange-59

Any post scorer

nyfinestgully

mike wangs rng shooting is the most annoying thing to me🤣

SilverDucksss

Bro 3 level threats are the worse cause them mf can do it all and you never know what they're gonna accell at. I've played 3 level threats that can dominate my 7'0 big in the paint and I've also played them who can out dribble and run my 6'6 pg

gyman122

Every season it feels like people figure out a way to make a 6’7/6’8 guy who can basically do everything and those people are the reason I haven’t played 2k in two years Like Jesus Christ guys. Find a niche, make a fun offense with your friends around all of your skill sets. God forbid you do something interesting

SwishaStan

All around builds are interesting, you have to learn how to play with mediocre to good stats and play above your limitations

yVegfoodstamps

I made a pf that can guard 1-5 and has crazy good finishing. I bet you’d hate him

LIVEFan33

Mostly just players who have to do over 60 dribble moves just to score. It’s very whacky.

Historical-Act5494

Defensive menace and it’s not even close bruh. Half of em don’t even use skill to steal the ball they just spam the button and pray

Dabanks9000

When I get put to pf even though I’m a 6’7 sf and they decide to put me on a 6’11 pf shaq with 90+ strength

TheDarkBeast1487

Literally any lockdown build in random Rec that can’t create their own looks. Basically just sitting in corner whole game and hoping they don’t quit so you won’t have to be guarded by the best defense of your life for 30 minutes.

rxgetotrueee

Pick n roll pgs who use patty behind screens Or The iso demons who use patty

LaMelgoatBall

As a 6’8 with semi solid perimeter but no block, it’s always the fast ass dribblers that do the rim run fake into John wall step back splash. And then if you play too high they blast past you. It’s stupid af and annoying. Combine that with Jamal Murray and you have the cheesiest shit in the game. Just can’t guard it if someone is good at it.

Fit-Assumption-3610

Hybrid defenders

Gotem_kicks1

I’m a lock for pro am. I think my toughest match was a curry build.

No_Writer5219

Tall guards with high shot blocking

Distinct-Extent8132

a pure post scorer

Dismal_Gear4942

lol at the good 3pt shot hunter part lol. but i think the build i despise playing against the most is offense heavy point . they have every thing on offense and its difficult to deal with. On defense i hate seeing glass cleaning lockdown cuz that is a person who is there shut shit down lol

Ponder96

As a pure inside big, I don't really notice not having a shot as long as you have a team that's smart enough to play around an inside. Screens around the perimeter and rolling to the basket for a bucket or an o board. With float game/scooper you can score from outside the paint with relative ease too.

PapaG1useppe

Yeh I bet your team notices when they’d like to drive to the basket tho

Ponder96

I mean I'm not just posted on the block all possession. If I see someone's trying to drive I'll rotate out. Simple.

40innaDeathBasket

It's not that simple. As a center, if you don't move until you see the drive happening, you're allowing me to gamble on the driver and anticipate the drop-off pass or alley to you. Lots of fumbled catch animations out of bounds on the baseline. You should be actually spending chunks of the shot clock on the three point line, shooter or no shooter, and strategically cut in for offensive rebounds.

Ponder96

Could've worded it better. I'm not down there waiting for something to happen. Start of the possession, set a screen for pg, roll or get out the way. Nothing happens, I drop down for a couple seconds, then rotate out, set more screens if wanted/needed.

OhyouThiccc

Your mom bro. She's just built different.

MrAwesome3112

As a center, I hate playing against other bigs that shoot 3s consistently, simply because I have to decide if I’m gonna guard paint (I know damn well my teammates won’t guard against a driving guard) or I have to stay out near my man. Either way I’m gonna get yelled at by my teammates for not doing “the right thing”
