Lol. For real? Perhaps you weren't paying attention. SilencerCo had someone get injured big time with their fuckup and it took something like over a year for them to react and it's taken legal action to force them to do it.
I swear I get stupider every time I show up on reddit.
LOL. Ain't THAT the truth. Public forums like Reddit, X, Facebook, Newsbreak, etc. need a "Stupid" filter. Two other filters that are badly needed as well are the "I read it somewhere else and didn't validate it was true before regurgitating the pure gibberish" and the "Self imposed ignorance" (better known as the "I believe it because I want to") filters.
Nah fam, gotta screw on a c-clamp to the adapter shoulder and the end cap.
Jokes aside, my Nomad has held up just fine for the past couple thousand rounds.
That’s good to know. Are all nomads KGmade? That’s my only concern
What all have you shot through it. Realized it’s bored quite generously. Seeing as how my warranty is non existent was wondering if I could send 8.6 BO through it. It’s bored to .390
~~My understanding is that they are all KGM~~ Some made by BPI
From what my LGS suppressor clerk told me:
The Nomads that had problems were the titanium ones from two or three years ago. I'm not going to knock on KGM too hard, but Dead Air got too big for what they were doing and absolutely should've had some in-house QC. The only thing keeping them alive is the Sandman-S contract, but Sig is knocking on that door too.
Dead Air is the most ironically named company there ever was. I just feel bad for Dom.
Just the news I didn’t want to hear. Purchased a Nomad-LT in February this year, not sure how to tell when it was manufactured. Haven’t had any issues with it yet, few hundred rounds of .308 through it.
Not all are KGM. The Lawrenceville marked cans were made by BPI.
And don't do 8.6 through it. The final baffle might be 390 but the blast baffle is 345 if I remember correctly. That's only 7 thousandths of an inch in clearance. Your can would have to be absolutely perfect to not have a strike
You can't run a nomad on 8.6 (338 lapua), which is too big, and you'll blow up the can.
Nomad is solid. It's the S5 that's trash. KGM has really dug a deep hole for DA. also, why does it look like you have a jam nut on your DT?
I had to be sure before sending it. I did take a 338 projectile and found it slipped into the end cap quite with room to spare. Same for the last baffle.
The first baffle however is much tighter. The baffles seem to increase in bore size as it moves away from the muzzle end
Im using a Q Plan B suppressor. I ditched the DT mount
My Nomad L has been great so far but only shoot subs through mine. Just wish I could get a damn wipe end cap but they are out of stock everywhere. Emailed Dead Air and they said they don't know when they'd be available. Pretty lame, man.
You should put a tether from your barrel (or handguard/chassis) to the first clamp in case it comes apart and you can’t find the SN section ever again.
My Nomads have been rock solid though.
the consistent impression ive got is that the nomads are mostly good to go. mines been great, its a few years old though. most of the nomad problems were with the Tis, and it was a few years back.
There’s several different models of DA cans that have been reported on this sub. The predominant ones are Sierra 5s and the Sandman line. The Sandmans are typically baffle strikes and the Sierra 5s have been powdered baffles and bad welds in the baffle stack.
There have been a few Nomads that have had bad weld failures and blooped the front end of the can off. But thats mainly it. Not nearly the amount of failures of Sandmans and Sierras. Wolverines pop up occasionally, from baffle strikes, but I’d lean towards those being predominantly host issues.
yes, I don't know what you're talking about with regards to a tracker, but this was 3 years ago and they talked about switching manufacturers because of QC issues, sucks to hear they are still having similar issues.
There were so many baffle strikes and damaged cans being reported on this sub, I started tracking them to identify trends.

Firstly, forgive my Ignorance. I’m aware of the issues with the sierra 5 and DA’s QC and RMA process, but I hadn’t heard anything about the nomad. Please tell me my Nomad L isn’t a ticking time bomb. 😭
I’m pretty sure dead air released info on that in their public statement that they just made…oh wait my bad they haven’t released shit yet
They are going for the shaggy defense
It wasn't me?
Yeah, just pretend nothing is wrong and gaslight and ignore problems.

I definitely caught you in the shower
Wasn’t me
Maracca in the backseat?
Wasn't me.
More like zoinks where's the snack bar
Should have gone with the Chewbacca defense, rookie mistake
\*Wookie mistake...... heheh
Nice
You were thinking of SilencerCo who were transparent and rolled out a recall and RMA process already getting supressors back to owners.

Range day bro is their mouth piece

Dom, if you're reading this : we don't blame you. we miss you and just want you to come back home.
Reddit thrashed the absolute fuck outta Dom. From what I heard, he was just a warehouse manager who knew a lot of the ins-and-outs.
Bad enough that he just deleted his account.
He is listed that way in the corporate directory.
Poor guy. If DA goes under, I hope he's able to move up and out
I’m curious about DA’s warehouse.
AAC poached the DEVGRU contract back for the 5.56 Noveskes, pretty sure them and sig are fighting over the .300 BLK ones
>My understanding is that they are all KGM Nope. Mine is BPI
I stand corrected!
Just the news I didn’t want to hear. Purchased a Nomad-LT in February this year, not sure how to tell when it was manufactured. Haven’t had any issues with it yet, few hundred rounds of .308 through it.
You're probably fine. Just make sure never to get a baffle strike
Using the Xeno adapter, and it’s dead nuts centered to the bore, so hopefully not.
That's what mine is on

Old ones were BPI, newer ones will be KG. I don’t remember what year the switch happened but it’s been a while.
Same here. I bought mine several years ago. I have shot 300 rum through mine.
My Nomad L has been great so far but only shoot subs through mine. Just wish I could get a damn wipe end cap but they are out of stock everywhere. Emailed Dead Air and they said they don't know when they'd be available. Pretty lame, man.
Lame indeed. I was pretty interested in one. Imagine a 16" 300 Blackout bolt gun on a Nomad with a wipe
Message me and I'll sell you mine.
DeadAir needs to hire this guy, problem solved!
I’m with it. I got clamps for days
More clamps more better. This is science.
You need one per baffle.
Only three left tho. Send it.
You need to use T bolt clamps. Worm gear aren't strong enough to hold that shit together.
That's what I said too lol.
You need constant pressure clamps like t bolt clamps.. then send it home with an impact and god speed.
Bunch of know-nothing amateurs... Slather on some JB Weld and send that shit.
Haha I was thinking the same… forgot the JB weld!
You need more cowbells.
That’s fucking hilarious!
You should put a tether from your barrel (or handguard/chassis) to the first clamp in case it comes apart and you can’t find the SN section ever again. My Nomads have been rock solid though.
Minimum 7 clamps according to osha
Increase clamps by 50% Captain
Aye aye
One more…and Duck Tape.
It's "duct" tape (as in to tape duct work together). But I guess their might be a market for taping ducks together. LOL
Its there, not their, but there might be a market for fixing my its.
The original is “Duck” as in the brand of the tape, not the function it was created for. I just missed the capital “D.” Thanks for helping me find it!
I hear that gorilla glue and some chewed gum works better
Probably need U-Bolts.
More clamps
Quality post 👍🏼🤣
Send it and see!
Best go for another.
The whole thing should be clamps
Needs more cowbell
Alternate the clamps so the screw is opposite the other. Also, remove the baffles because, you know. ;-)
I spit my tea out after seeing this lol.
Dead Air is catching so much flak ☠️
So are their customers when another can explodes 🤷♂️
☠️ ☠️ ☠️
Why many clamps when [one clamp will do?](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/616EFMRVJKL._AC_SX679_.jpg)
the consistent impression ive got is that the nomads are mostly good to go. mines been great, its a few years old though. most of the nomad problems were with the Tis, and it was a few years back.
Don't you threaten my nomads, they're my favorite cans...
Those hose clamps are probably stronger than their welds sadly….
Is dead air having issues with other cans?
Here with same question have a Sandman S with over 2k rounds and just curious what the context is

I had bad welds on my wolfman a few years ago too.
That sucks. Did they get it fixed for you? There’s a few Wolfman cans on the tracker, but only 2-3 had weld failures.
yes, I don't know what you're talking about with regards to a tracker, but this was 3 years ago and they talked about switching manufacturers because of QC issues, sucks to hear they are still having similar issues.

No. I'm sure just some gentle ribbing. You know, like the kind they put in their cans.
Well played sir!
Oh fuck are nomads breaking now? Fucking just picked mine up.
I would just longitudinal welds to make sure they don't pop off.
Was doing that worth the 7 or 10 imaginary internet points that this post will get?
Yes
Buy a dozen more NFA items and maybe you'll find a sense of humor inside one of them.
Dude is mad he owns 11 dead airs
Worth more than these L’s your catching

Send it!
Not enough JB weld.
Wait, I missed what happened. What's wrong with the nomad? Does someone have a link to the info?
Just sent mine in for a baffle strike because it came loose from the adapter. So I think that’s the reference
Lmao!!!
FarCry New Down vibes
Steampunk. That’s a good look..
Hahahahha
Can you still see black? More clamps!
You seem optimistic?
Needs some of that ol' jb weld slathered over the factory seams
What's wrong with Nomad L now?
Omg that's legit hilarious
Epoxy a heat shield
My Nomad "KG Made" has been a trooper so far 3000+ through it all calibers up to 300WM.
What mount is that?
Plan B
Cover clamps with Gorilla tape and you’re GTG!
Nomads are solid, it's the S5 that's bad.
Be a man, grip the can! ^/s
HA
I needed a good laugh this morning. Thank you!
Happy to oblige you my friend

I’m sorry that I’m late to the party, but WTF is the issue that prompted this joke?
I would have used zip ties for the tactical advantage.
Instructions unclear. PP caught in hose clamps.
