Then, when your guard is at its lowest and you're finally feeling ready to begin your recovery, you're forced to relive your trauma at a hockey game.
There is a special sect of people who root for the Lions and the Buckeyes. These people are from Toledo, the place Michigan and Ohio fought over. Lions/Buckeye fandom is a direct result of Michigan losing that war.
Lions and Bucks fan since the 90s who lives in Columbus checking in. Pops was from Toledo, and taught me how to “warsh” the car. Unlike the rest of O-H-ers, we respect Michigan, even if we want to beat them every year. Maybe it’s because we know the beauty of the Au Sable and UP.

Michigan fans hate OSU more than anything, there is no pro sports rivalry that comes close for them. And it’s buffered by the other half of the state (roughly) being MSU fans who hate Michigan more, but definitely also hate OSU.
Our pro rivalries in this state are usually pretty context dependent. Wings/Blackhawks is ancient but 1. Even here hockey ain’t anywhere close to football and 2. The last time both teams were even decent at the same time was before most of us were born. Pistons/Bulls was big in the late 80s/early 90s but that’s pretty much subsided, it only really manifests as oldheads who are like “yeah Jordan was pretty good, but only like top 10 all time, maybe fringe top 5. If Magic didn’t get sick MJ might not have ever gotten his first championship”, Tigers dislike our AL central rivals but it’s mostly evenly distributed, I’d say we hate Cleveland the most but it’s really just whoever we’re fighting for the division with, when we’re competitive. And in the NFL, well we definitely hate the Packers the most, but it’s hard to get as riled up about that when we’ve been competitive for maybe 15 out of the last 50 years. And we don’t have the same baked in hate for Wisconsin that they do in Illinois and Minnesota. We only really hate the one team, nobody really beefs with the Bucks or UW, at least not in the LP. Mostly we just dislike whoever is currently the villain of whatever league or whatever team is in our way in the playoffs the most in recent history
