Hold on, stop. Lemme get this right. Bus hit her, stopped, everyone pulled out their phones, and bus driver kept driving? š¤ Did nobody tell him what had happened?
We don't know how much time has passed between the first and the second part of the video. Maybe they already pronounced her dead and were just trying to dislodge her body.
This isnāt the full video. They pulled out the cell phones after the bus driver was alerted and the officials came to remove the body from between the bus and pole.
Iām a bus driver and fuck that driver. Soon as you touch something, you stop! Get out. Survey the scene. Figure out next steps. These weigh 35-60 thousand pounds. The human body weighs nothing compared to the vehicle. You could kill somebody without realizing it. Which is what this jack wagon did.
*K'thonk*
"Huh. I think I whanged a mailbox"
*drives despite the passengers who want to take a video of a knocked over mailbox*
Do we have any way to know he knew what had happened?
looks like when she got stuck driver stopped after noticing he hit the pole and not the girl, police where called for the girl in a attempt to remove her (logically U would reverse) driver went forward decapitating her ofc any accident crowd and phones out.
The bus was sooo slow.. If you looked closely, She ran in between the bus and the pole. Easily avoidable. Should had waited, jump over the fence or ran on the other side
Oh, I most certainly am not saying that what she did wasn't stupid. She should have jumped the fence. I was just saying she physically couldn't have gone on the other side of the pole like the original commenter was asking.
this was in santiago, chile last year. people cross that street jaywalking because its faster, that bus took another route because there were manifestations happening throughout its usual route, so when it took this street, ir created a blind spot the driver wasnāt aware of and couldnāt see the woman passing.
Yes, she was already dead by the crush. You can tell because when the 2nd camera view happens, her shoe is already off her foot and on the floor. She likely died when you see the truck bounce off the pole
You can see her hand - there is no pain response when the bus moves. On the other hand, spinal injuries would explain that too... but i also believe second video is far after fist one - i mean, you gotta clear the scene some time, dont you... its horrible when her body falls her shirt gets lifted by getting tangled in the fence and leaves her breast exposed. what an extremely terrible way to go on so every level.
I think this is very wrong thinking, in that instant she had no clue how it was going to end up. If she was immortal or could time travel she would have done it differently, but in that instant she had no clue of the outcome and made a split second decision that anyone in the exact scenario with no outside perspective could of easily made.
No way most ppl are gonna try to thread the needle between a moving bus and a pole. You just wait till the bus has passed and the gap is clear, or hop the waist-height fence. Very easily avoidable.
Easy to say from a thousand foot view afterwards.. she was just trying to beat the bus, and failed, she would also agree with you and do it differently if she saw this video, but to say your split second decision in that exact moment with no knowledge of anything but her first person perspective would be different, seems bold
By the time sheās out of sight(0:03) behind the sign (hanging on the pole I think) sheās easily at least 3-4ft away from the pole and the gap between the bus and pole seems to be maybe a foot wide 2 being generous, that gap closed in a grand total of 2 seconds (bus hits pole and rocks it at 0:05). Anyone couldāve seen that gap was too small to dart through especially with a moving object getting closer on one side (as big as a fucking bus no less, that she already ran in front of as she knew it was turning through the intersection mind you). Also imo you can tell by the position of her body that she tried to ādashā through side ways to make the gap (as if trying to step between two close ppl in a crowded place) going in head first which caused her to get caught like that. Iām not saying she deserves it in any way bc of making a mistake, Iām just more stuck on the fact of ppl saying it like itās a super understandable mistake like itās logical. It doesnāt take foresight to realize youāre not in an action movie and you donāt have to squeeze through a lethal closing corridor.
Anyone who lives in a city with a lot of crowded traffic knows to stay tf away from moving busses (do I need to mention the obvious closing gap again?), it takes minimal common sense, but those who think it was a mistake āanyoneā couldāve made, I think we all know theyāre just talking ab themselves.
No we're saying it could happen because those mistakes do happen. People misjudge where they can fit. It's something people do. Usually without deadly consequences but it happens.
You're not wrong.
I'm just so horrified by this sub. But it's also full of life experiences and life lessons.
Thanks to this vid and a lot of other fucked up vids, thanks to people like you. It makes me much much MUCH more aware of my surroundings.
I don't know if i'm paranoid (probably not) but i just stay away from big vehicles like these. Stay far enough to run if things don't go my way. I used to have headphones on when walking but no fucking more.
No... more... headphones on... Just be aware of my surroundings and stay alert till i get home. Fuck, this is fucked up. Valuable lesson...
You can see two busses turning the corner. The top bus should have a green check-mark over it. the bottom bus, a red X. Being from NYC I never get NEAR any bus while it's turning a corner. Most of the drivers do it wrong.
Well thanks to this post, i will not be close to big vehicles ever again. They have blindspots and shits, just no thanks, i will stand a few meters away just to be safe.
I dont know what it is, but drivers of large vehicles always seem to cause more damage.
I was on a bus once, it was crowded, and a guy got his arm stuck when the door was closed, his arm was fully wedged. The entire bus was yelling "driver driver, stop the bus, open the door!!" And the poor guy was yelling in pain. We drove two blocks before the driver seemed to realise we were yelling at him.
I also know of people who have been yelling at a truck driver to stop once he got to an intersection because hed run over a pedestrian who had crossed, and he took it to mean 'youre too far forward, back up' so he reversed. Ran her over again.

This was in Chile, at Santiago capital, not very long time agoā¦ she cross the street for a forbidden path. She died before her head was cut. This was very very sad. At the moment thereās more vigilance at that street for this reason.
Holy shit, thanks for saying she was alredy dead before the decapitation, i was thinking that the bus driver killed her (even the who initiated the problem was the person)
This almost happened to me when waking out of a aisle in a factory, a few years ago, when one of my coworkers decided to turn his forklift down the aisle I was walking out of. Cleared it by inches. He said he never saw me.
Honestly, I can't feel bad for her poor decision. Sucks that she died though.
Edit: I already knew I was gonna be downvoted, and it still baffles me, though. Like, how are you not desensitized being in this subreddit?

Yeah wtf man, why the hell did the bus driver not stop š

Bus driver probably told the onlookers to get a good vidjya
Poor woman, but why would she run to bus side of pole?
If you couldn't tell, that pole is attached to a fence. She couldn't have gone around the other side of the pole.
The bus was sooo slow.. If you looked closely, She ran in between the bus and the pole. Easily avoidable. Should had waited, jump over the fence or ran on the other side

Well, now that i think about it. I agree with you.
Youāre right but also hear me out on this. The driver could have not hit the pole. That shouldnāt happen
the fence isnt too high to climb over.
The fence is waist height!
this was in santiago, chile last year. people cross that street jaywalking because its faster, that bus took another route because there were manifestations happening throughout its usual route, so when it took this street, ir created a blind spot the driver wasnāt aware of and couldnāt see the woman passing.
Splitting a pole is bad luck. Thatās why.
Definitely not better than saving your life then
Do you think she was dead already by the crush ?
Fucking hope so

Shoes were on, definitely survived
Look at the shoe on the floor when the 2nd camera view starts though
No. I wonder if she was screaming.
Fuuuuuck that's erm , yep š³
Nah she was probably alive still
Guillotine. People were still alive even after the cut. If the brain was still intact, she probably saw the fall and the ground.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Pretty sure it was very fast.. don't think she felt much fortunately
Why not just likeā¦go on the other side of the pole?
There's a fence connected to that pole. She was trying to get inside it
She had already made up her mind and was committed to that side.
That side being sui?
You clever bastard.
There was a fence. The way the bus was moving he wouldāve hit her regardless unless she was able to jump over the fence fast enough
Where was this at? š³
Santiago, Chile
At the Estadio Azteca? I went twice last year.

Oh. š Thank you.
I feel bad, but that was easily avoidable, what she did was pretty dumb
I think this is very wrong thinking, in that instant she had no clue how it was going to end up. Thatās why most people donāt try to beat a large moving vehicle, because itās a bad idea. Her lapse in judgement cost her her life.
Ur saying u never j walked and had to run bc of oncoming cars?
Iām saying I never crossed a road that i didnāt know I could absolutely make, whether running or not, itās called forethought and common sense
Thatās a convenient statement to make lol
Iām alive arenāt i

Literally runs to her death at 41 is crazy.
It was fucking stupid but the busdriver following through makes me fucking angry
Fucking fucking fucking, grow up
What would be a āgrown upsā opinion ?
Not swearing like a five years old every 2 seconds, get manners
Agree, I fucking hate people who swear
brutal
Thatās fuckin brutal. Holy fuck
That looks awfully on purpose... or just *unbelievably* stupid / poor spatial perception... the equivalent of: Oh look Lava! (jumps in)

Define doing it wrong? Vast majority of bus drivers aren't hitting the curb as they make a turn.
Deciding to go that specific way is as baffling as it was fatal.
Why didnāt the bus driver just reverse back? She couldāve been easily saved
Wouldnāt have made a difference. The friction against the pole wouldāve still popped her head off.
I get it she died but why did you move the fuvking bus. atleast respect the dead body and people were recording š¤”
God damn humans fkng suck

Not sure why she would wedge herself between the bus and the light post. God bless her
Why the fuck did the bus driver kept going?
Damn, I live in chile, now I fear for my life and my head
DAAAAAAAAAAMMM!
Omg! That was in my country! A very very unusual case and very sad

Bloody Hell that is awful!
Not worth just chill, wait.for them to pass. This was rough
The guy on the bike. I hope someone films him dying and not giving a fuck.
