I saw that the perfect way, as a 9 year old on an old home recorded VHS where the first ten minutes had been recorded over. I had no idea it was a film, I thought it was just a jumble of cable tv shows for a full 20 minutes.
I think I was right around 12ish. Walked to our local video store and picked it up out of the comedy section not Knowing what it was and was delightfully surprised
True story, my high school best friend and I loved KFM and started mimicking the cheesy announcer’s “Samuel L Bronkowitz presents ..” as an in-joke when perving on girls. (This was the late 80s.)
He dropped a Bronkowitz bomb between classes when one of the school’s Debbies walked by us, a male teacher overheard it, and the teacher got the uncontrollable giggles. He tried to be stern for a second, but he knew we knew he knew we knew he knew *what’s up*.
It was among the proudest subversive victories of our geeky little biumvirate teenage lives.
this was right around the time, the powers that be, determine T&A is more harmful to the viewing public than outright violence. This is why, we get to see people get head injuries and other grievous life changing injuries without any warning, but human anatomy is clearly not safe for work.
This meme lead me straight into the movie and my god it was so great, sure the main one kinda drags a bit, but the zinc oxide bit was such a genius parody of those old educational vids
I can't believe Donald Sutherland is actually in it, and just to have him tripping for 15 seconds top
For better or worse, the "Barely 18" category, which can include high school, has been very popular in the past. And 18 wasn't always the limit, though I suspect it was when this came out.
Heck it's not even the limit worldwide by any means nowadays even though many people online act like it is.
Please note I'm not saying it's a good thing or not. Just saying how it is.
Where? And when? As I said in my comment the limit is different in different areas of the world, and times too. This movie came out 46 years ago so I don't know for sure if you mean back then or now.
Very few laws, if any, are globally the same or static through time. Even within a single country itself many relevant laws are different from place to place.
It’s a short clip from the Kentucky fried movie. I will be honest I don’t think it’s a great comedy I’d not recommend it’s not quite the 80’s 90’s better humor you’d think. Still worth a watch you’ll get a few chuckles but a lot of it just like drags on with the gags.
