I wonder how accurate some these are and how much 60s/70s fashion influenced these images. It be cool to see this done today with more recent archaeological evidence. Also I’m assuming this is fashion of the aristocracy, it be interesting to see the fashion of the masses and see how much that has changed over 4000yrs. Additionally would be cool to see some male fashion. I know during the qajar period the lines between male and female fashion would get blurred at times.

K-Zoro

Definitely fashion of the aristocracy.

This is from a 1970’s fashion show. I thought it would be interesting. Which one’s your favourite?

I particularly enjoyed the second and ninth entries. Thank you for sharing them. As a true Iranian, I find that we often have to delve into our country's history on our own in order to gain an education. Personally, I take love researching our past because of the depth and richness of our culture, which surpasses that of other countries I have explored.

Runic_reader451

What's the story behind the headscarf and the short skirt. It's an amusing combo. Weren't the mullahs of that time having a fit about it?

Downtown_Duty3437

That’s probably only what the women in the shah’s harem wore.

Thanks for posting the info.

Schrodingers_Dude

Achaemenian I is probably my favorite, but I really dig the "after Islam" pic. They look like they're gonna murder me while galloping on magnificent steeds and it's awesome.

You all are some of the most beautiful in the world! Don't let the bastards get you down! The people in the US support you!

jsh_

as good as globalization can be I dislike how western dress has become synonymous with "modern" clothing. it would be cool if each society kept progressing their own cultural clothing and had their own common standard/casual/business dress. that's one thing I like about south asia (shalwar kameez is the standard/common dress for everyone). like I think the gulf arab countries are doing a good job with modernizing the thobe where it's seen as an acceptable dress even in the business world

Pug__Jesus

Very interesting! The Achaemenian dress is my favorite.

I think that the entire world should adopt Qajar IV's style

zerohouring

Incredible, thanks for posting. Usually I am a Sassanid kind of guy but those Parthian outfits give off a powerful "boss lady" kind of vibe. I kind of like Zandian II for some reason but not sure why. Qajar V and VI are low tier obviously but it is what it is.

margbardiktator

Love these. Thanks.

These time periods sound like planets on Star Trek, “this is captain Jean Luc Picard, stardate 4113.7. We’ve just arrived on Parthian II…” Beautiful clothing!

The post-Islam women look ready to throw down with someone.
