The spiral John Lewis car park has disabled bays right next to the entrance, it’s a little bit of a walk to get into John Lewis but you can also use [shop mobility](https://eldonsquare.co.uk/centre-information/guest-info/#:~:text=Manual%20and%20powered%20wheelchairs%20are,centre%2C%20adjacent%20to%20Eldon%20Square) and hire a chair for getting around the shopping centre.
You can also drive down great street but I don’t think you can park there anymore.
For quayside I’d suggest dropping off at P&P and then parking or on broad chare for the hooch for being warm to look at the bridges.
Realistically your best option might be to try to borrow a wheelchair for the day due to the distances involved. Slopes can be especially hard to deal with.
Many shops will let you borrow one while you are in, and you can hire one from The Red Cross.
Of course she might not be comfortable with using a wheelchair so this would need to be discussed with her in advance.
What about Baltic for the quayside? You can get dropped out outside, have some lunch or afternoon tea at Six, and the observation deck gives lovely views across the river. It's wheelchair accessible and has a very clear accessibility section on the website.
Does your guest like a pint? The best view of the Tyne is at The Free Trade and a taxi can get you to the front door. There are a few steps inside to the loo but for an hour in the warm with a shandy that would be nice.
All the above comments are helpful. Do you drive at all / are you planning on hiring a car? It’s worth getting your guest to bring their blue badge if you are so you can park as close as possible.

Thank you so much for the shop mobility link x

Wheelchair would make life easier - it’s about her walking any distance at all but not being a wheelchair user xxx

Alas, no. I think she’s drunk like twice in her life!
She’s a tea and cake type. Won’t go anywhere with a paper napkin.
Taxi to monument, tell the driver to get a close to Fenwicks as poss.
The hop on and off bus tour around the centre of town is great! It’s got an audio guide on board and stops at most major places in the city centre
It’s on my list, but even a walk from a bus stop into fenwicks and then into the food hall will be a big undertaking for her
Can you not rent a wheelchair from somewhere? That might help
Great shout. Thank you!

We do have a driver on hand it’s just we’ve never driven to these places so we’ve no idea what it’s like in practice. This is really helpful. X
