I made all the passes just to find out. it’s usually just plants to harvest carbon, or like the health boxes or like sodium. The passes are only really handy on-planet when you come across those red cylinders. So you’re not missing out on too much
I always hoped that Hello Games would reskin the current fauna types we have as robot types and populate the planets of abandon systems with them and add some lore about them infesting populated systems!!! Could make a great expedition for the future!!!
it would be so cool to reactivate those abandoned space stations and build inside of them
I've set up on a paradise planet in an abandoned system in hopes one day that space station will be ownable.

Yes and no. It gives you the fun of searching for the components to make the passes, but rips your heart out after all you get is carbon…

You can find them easily if you install both scaner upgrades on to your ship. Abandoned systems allways have 1\* economy and - for conflict.

I found one and it didn’t even have a space station in it at all. Empty or otherwise. I have since stopped going to them

Just keep across another one in Hilbert Dimension. Maybe more common there
