The company recently did a sponsorship with a transgender activist, including printing rainbow patterns on part of some cans of bud light
This upset many followers.
It's so stupid, these people have no attention span. Anheizer-Busch has been sponsering queer events for decades. Every gay bar I've ever been to in my 20 years as an adult has had a rainbow bud light neon sign.
>Every gay bar I've ever been to in my 20 years as an adult has had a rainbow bud light neon sign.
I am certain the people that are upset about this have not been following the trends in gay bars for the past 20 years.
That's what you find stupid?
How about the irony that these rednecks are actually boosting sales for a product they want to fail, by purchasing more of it. Bud doesn't care that you shot their beer... you already gave them your money.
BINGO!!! This "I'm going to take my beer cans out and shoot them in protest" is the dumbest form of protest I've ever seen. I'm sure the Bud Light folks are just sitting on their pile of money laughing and hoping for more "protests."
I doubt these folks even know how much beer is actually owned by Bud Light's parent company. They are just gonna go buy Shock Top or 10 Barrel or something else that AB bought up and not realize it.
... so they are all now vowing to drink Coors Light. Yes, this Coors Light:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/lgbt/comments/m7067/coors\_light\_ad\_xpost\_from\_rpics/](https://www.reddit.com/r/lgbt/comments/m7067/coors_light_ad_xpost_from_rpics/)
You left out the details of who the activist actually is; a very divisive, and some would say insulting individual by the name of Dylan Mulvaney. The biggest critique of Mulvaney is that transitioning to a woman is treated with the same respect as a minstrel show, and as a woman, I'm inclined to agree. I don't like beer, so I wasn't going to buy any to begin with, but the target demographic is pretty against people like Mulvaney.
Biggest critique _by_whom_?
You left that important piece of information out, I think - I'm gonna take the critique a lot differently if it comes from... Oh, say the Human Rights Campaign, vs... jk Rowling (for example).
By a lot of women, including myself. The YouTube Recommended videos over the last few months have been nothing but Mulvaney clips and related content. From the little I've seen, It's a disgusting caricature of what a sexist THINKS a woman is like. It's embarrassing to witness, and the fact that such a person sat down with the President of the United States of America for spending now-a-year prancing around in in 'hiking heels' while screaming at bugs, and passing out tampons to strangers is just... I hate to say Clown World, but I'm really running out of things to say.
If your YouTube Recommended videos are indeed
>nothing but Mulvaney clips and related content
Then it's because you've been looking at, and continue to look at
>Mulvaney clips and related content.
I guess some days people just try reeally hard to be offended......
Bullshit. He just showed up because the YouTube algorithm pushes content that's supposed to be popular. All interaction is interaction, and videos with interaction get pushed by the algorithm. It's why massively disliked videos get seen by so many people, right along with universally liked videos. I'd never even heard of him until a couple months ago when he was talking to the fucking POTATUS.
So, answer me this, algorithm expert.... why is it I've never received a single suggestion about one of their videos? I'd not even heard of them until this thread....
Depends on your viewing habits, what country you live in, and if anyone you regularly view makes content related to him. I was curious, so I clicked on someone else's video talking about him meeting Biden, and a few related videos had compilations of his asshattery, and after a few of those, I had a pretty good idea of who he was. Different countries effect the recommendation algorithms differently, suppressing some content, and promoting other content.
How you can keep misgendering them, saying they need to earn their womanhood, and then turn around and say you're not trans-exclusionary (literally) or transphobic is next level denial.
Considering I don't drink beer, I don't buy beer, I didn't destroy any beer, and I never said fuck all about an opinion regarding the cans that contain the beer, I have to ask how you've concluded I'm triggered over a beer can.
You’ve been here for hours arguing with people about the rights of a sexual minority just because they are on a beer can. Years ago, I saw left-wing people made fun of for their identity and it was *triggering the Libs.* You have been both adamant and whiny about this issue, when it is just a damn can of beer and you are still contributing to the same *woke* brand.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but you are *absolutely* presenting it the way I mentioned above.
The people mad and destroying their cases of Bud don't know anything about Dylan Mulvaney's positions, they have not heard these "critiques".
So while you may have specific qualms with this person's views, I can guarantee all the people protesting only know that she is a transwoman, and that's why they're mad.
EDIT: the above poster is categorically a TERF, their post history is pretty obvious. Calling transwomen "womanface" and the like. Their language is very telling.
They have also spent their entire day defending the people mad at Budweiser for daring to support trans rights. Like in every post about it.
The poster was not critiquing trans people in general; the poster was criticizing Mulvaney in specific, and the way he portrays womanhood. If you’ve ever seen his routine, you’ll understand. He prances around like a six year old girl who was just told she’s a princess, and wears the whole thing like an ill fitting costume.
It’s truly one of the most misogynistic displays I’ve ever seen, and the fact that he’s being chosen to represent women instead of… a woman… is reprehensible.
Still have no idea what in the hell you’re on about. Alts are easy to spot and distinguish, usually by matching up similar histories or timelines. But I guess it’s easier to assume incorrectly than to actually refute a position you clearly have no argument for.
And I have no problem with trans people. I have a problem with Dylan Mulvaney.
> The biggest critique of Mulvaney is that transitioning to a woman is treated with the same respect as a minstrel show, and as a woman, I'm inclined to agree.
Did Dylan say that and you agree with them?? I'm very confused, just sounds like your grievance with trans people in general.
Be polite and respectful in your exchanges. NSQ is supposed to be a helpful resource for confused redditors. Civil disagreements can happen, but insults should not. Personal attacks, slurs, bigotry, etc. are not permitted at any time.
Maybe if all beer companies openly support the queer community they'll stop drinking beer entirely and get over their crippling alcoholism that makes them so angry in the first place.
I’m glad you asked! I was trying to clean the hay up underneath him and his pissed at my feet while I was hunched over, so the splash back went in my mouth. Nasty.
LOL....so they are supporting the company by buying the product and then doing free advertising for them by posting videos of this non-sense online. Brilliant.
Americans in general are really bad at boycotting, but conservatives take it to another level. I wonder how many people bought a bunch of Bud Light to destroy and then started drinking another beer by Anheuser-Busch, not realizing it's the same company.
> They’re so upset, they’re going out and buying cases of Bud Lite just to destroy them
This is a win for both Anheuser-Busch and *real* beer. Stay salty, MAGAts.
Come on now, people that drink Bud Light usually have a couple 30 packs sitting in their garage because they may run out and we all know the world comes to an end if you ever run out of bud light.
But? Wouldn’t they lose continued purchases? I don’t get why this is such a big deal to y’all. They can voice their opinion with their dollars. Just like Vegans protesting Chik fila. Same concept.
It’s not like this is the first time ever.
They will go right back to buying Bud Lite as soon as this design goes away. Most of these people don’t even know why they’re mad. They’re just mad because some talking head told them to be.
It's not a big deal to me.
It's obviously a big deal to the people that are shooting guns at cases of beer and filming it.
This whole thing was a publicity stunt by Budweiser. Do you think they really care about trans people?
Their target audience is young people. Taking a liberal stance is good for business. Period.
The latest right wing outrage is that they are partnering with a trans person.
Outrages like this are almost always intended to give the far right something to talk about to drown out discussion about something else in the news they don’t wanna see.
Can’t imagine what that might be.
Budweiser released an all inclusive pink can and now the "fuck your feelings" crowd have become snowflakes. They've lived long enough to become the thing they despise the most.
don't know if it really explains it, but here is this amazing quote i saw this morning:
"kid rock makes music for the kind of folks who know exactly how much sudafed you can get for a catalytic converter."
Because they are mad that Budlight has gone "woke" (as in partnering with a trans woman). From what I have seen Budlight has been pro LGBTQ for years so idk why they are freaking out only now.
They’re not “pro lgbtq”, they’re pro selling as much beer as possible. If they give gay bars rainbow signs and set up kegs at gay events, that’s good for business. Putting their “support” on a can for their main customer base to see was really retarded.
so, wait, they buy the beer and then destroy it? I saw one video where the dude destroyed a 24-pack of Bud. That will show them alright. Budweiser will be crying all the way to the bank bc ppl are buying their beer and then destroying it. "what do we do? Our profits are increasing but they aren't drinking our beer, mmmmmm,, put bigger rainbows on the cans, maybe" Or are they protesting it by not buying it
Because Budweiser put a rainbow on some products. And because rainbows are a religious symbol about how God will not wipe out human life with another flood, they are super upset. Who knew we were dealing with so many pro-flood people?
“Rainbow washing”. Some lgbt people are wanting it to end. Been debated on for a few years recently.
https://www.theurbanlist.com/a-list/rainbow-washing
https://www.wired.com/story/lgbtq-pride-consumerism/
On one hand, I get not liking it. But on the other hand, wouldn't it just work to their advantage by normalizing their lifestyle? It's like how obnoxious it was that everybody claimed to be gluten intolerant because it was the new fad diet and then restaurants catered to them. People with actual gluten allergies were the people with the most to gain from it.
Lifestyle isn't the right word but 100%. As a bi non binary person idc if companies only do it for profits. It just shows that it is profitable to be supportive which shows the people that hate us aren't as big and powerful as they believe
Yeah lifestyle is normally used as a sort of dog whistle to imply it's just a choice and kinda handwaves the entire experience of being gay or trans etc...
I'd just say normalising our existence or helping our community
Their slogan is literally “down for whatever”.
People don’t realize that when you say “it’s all fun and games until you bring her home and her dick is bigger than yours” that at that point the games are over and it’s just fun.
Reminds me of a scene in a movie (but I think it was true) where some Christian group bought a ton of rap CDs and crushed them with a steamroller….but they paid for them so that just made the rap group money.
A trans woman who is an activist for transgender people
drinks Bud Light
and Budweiser honored her
by gifting her with a special edition of some Bud Light cans bearing her image.
Some people don't want to support a beer company that would do such a thing.
Because they're fucking idiots who can't think for themselves. So they do what people they follow do and make a scene thinking they're doing something when in reality they're just idiots.
It will be interesting to see if I notice a change in preferred brands when I am picking up litter from the side of the road. Bud Light is king among people who throw their cans out their window when they are drinking while driving. White Claw started showing up a few years back, you really can see trends.
You mean genocide-organisers of the gas companies or slave-owning clothing companies? That be cool if they would consider that and boycot actual assholes.
Is anyone going to mention one of the biggest 'rednecks' who started making this trend widely known was Kid Rock? That's the first post I ever saw relating to 'rednecks shooting bud cans over trans spokesman', though I tend to avoid places where that propagates the most.
They're Rednecks. Do they need any more reason than that?
If you need a deeper reason than that, it's because their Redneck buddies are doing the same thing. They just want to fit in.
I've never had a Bud Light in my life but it does seem like a weird spokesperson. I can think of a few transpeople who would have been better.
The one they chose is celebrating 365 days of womanhood but seems to act like a little girl all the time. They posted a video of themselves prancing around in a hotel room as a 6-year-old girl and then hopping on the bed with their legs up in the air.
Seems like an odd image to put out there, like they are purporting to represent women but acting like a caricature of a girl all the time. I don't get it. You know who Dylan Mulvaney actually reminds me of? Blippi, that hyperactive kids host. It's a weird when the product is beer.
This is the first person I've seen that addresses that the problem is not the fact Dylan Mulvaney is transgender. The issue many people have, including other transgender people, is the behaviour. Everything is clearly an act for attention, and conciously adopting negative womens stereotypes doesn't define someone as a woman. Many women in particular find the over the top girly persona offensive. The idea that acting like a woman makes you a woman is regressive and hurts women and gender non conforming people.
Because they won’t admit how trans women make them feel funny and give them a tiny little button mushroom in the horribly stained underwear they inherited from their grandpappy.
I will never understand the mindset of - i dont like said product! Therefore i shall buy some and video myself smashing or destroying it to send a message! Ha haaa!
…you do realize you still gave them $$ and just wasted yours albeit looking like a nincompoop on social media
Because BL is supporting Trans rights.
Also, because they are doing absolutely nothing to hurt BL.... like any other person who has destroyed the property they have already paid for. it's a very stupid method of protesting.
i personally didnt like the ad campaign even tho i have no problem with gay people, it just feels forced. like i know gay people like beers, but i dont need to see a overly enthusiastic..person dancing around in a tub for budlight. also hated that march madness joke
They made a can supporting LGBT (And whatever other letters, no offence). Every dumbass with a low IQ thinks their manhood is somehow at stake by drinking it. Kid Rock is actually supporting Anheuser Busch by buying so much just to shoot at it. It's probably the best marketing scheme ever.
They put Tiktok Dylan on a can. I love her. She's so positive. I live in a very rural redneck area. They can all go f*ck themselves. So close minded and judgmental.
Because the marketing campaign is working and Busch knows they will be back just like the guys who burned NFL Jerseys.
Fuck the NFL and Go Colts!
They hate trans people and so Bud Light has personally attacked them by sponsoring one. In other words, people are closed-minded bigots and will go on delusional and violent tirades against anyone who displays a more open and respectful mind than their own. They're willfully ignorant.
When will right wingers realize a) there are more of US then there are of them and b) them boycotting something only makes it more appealing to the rest of us, even if only to troll their stupid asses.
That said, Bud Light is like making love in a canoe.
Here where the [OG Budweiser](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budweiser_trademark_dispute)comes from its pretty good beer I drink it and its not the cheapest one. Never had the american one.
I think Budweiser does know their fan base all too well. They know these morons will switch to another brand that falls under their umbrella without even a clue. No skin off of their backs.
They are not happy about the hiring of Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesperson. Mulvaney is an internet influencer known for overreacting and going way too far for attention
In theory: Go woke, go broke.
I agree with that.
In reality: tik tok stars are probably buying it to act like they are throwing it away for the controversy views. Probably advertising for the company in the process.
The bottom line: Don’t buy shitty beer be it a woke company or a based company.
I feel this way. If you want to be transgender that is fine with me. More power to you. But don’t push it in my face . You know if you want to believe you are a bully goat fine. But don’t expect me to believe the same!!!
Because there's a whole uneducated group of Americans, predominantly in southern states (surprise) that think if they drink a beer can with a rainbow on it, one of "THE GAYZ" is going to jump out of a bush, bend them over, and clap their cheeks.
And they can't have that because somewhere in the bible (at least the one they're reading?) it says something that sorta maybe kinda might be interpreted loosely as "Gayz R Bad" but not really but its close if you read it under a certain light...just trust them ok? Its there and it totally means what they say it means.

I'm not as convinced.
I honestly questioned how long this response would take haha! Those still in the closet tend to be the most homophobic.
Those aggro redneck Trump cretins “doth protest too much”
"I hate all that drag shit." the redneck exclaims to the priest in a full gown get up.
That's what you find stupid? How about the irony that these rednecks are actually boosting sales for a product they want to fail, by purchasing more of it. Bud doesn't care that you shot their beer... you already gave them your money.

Of course they are. Or switch to Coors which has long been supportive of the LGBT community.
REDNECK: Fuck it, all these beer companies supporting gays. im switching over to rose' wine.
Actually they buy twice as much, because they need to drink beer to shoot beer.
I'd like to think companies sometimes do these campaigns as a big brain move to drive more sales from angry protestors.
It's what I find the most stupid, yes. I didn't say there wasn't a lot more stupid involved.
It was rhetorical.
Yep, just like when "Real football fans" were burning Washington jerseys over a name change.

They finally figured out it's horse piss? Oh wait no, because Bud Light did a marketing campaign with someone transgender.
no way horse piss is that flavorless
As a former horse owner I will take one for the team and tell that horse piss does, in fact, have a taste. It is not beer like. Please don’t ask.
Oh don’t worry I wasn’t planning to

Because Budweiser put a rainbow on some products. And because rainbows are a religious symbol about how God will not wipe out human life with another flood, they are super upset. Who knew we were dealing with so many pro-flood people?
Because they are snowflakes
Wait 'til the rednecks find out about Schmitts Gay
Thank you for this laugh
Cause they are afraid of a rainbow.
Im not from the states but I guess Budlight has some new campain using inclusive-washing, right?
Btw by inclusive-washing I mean usage of queer ppl for their own profit. It probably has its own term.
“Rainbow washing”. Some lgbt people are wanting it to end. Been debated on for a few years recently. https://www.theurbanlist.com/a-list/rainbow-washing https://www.wired.com/story/lgbtq-pride-consumerism/
Is "lifestyle" not appropriate? "The way in which a person or group lives?" Does it wrongfully imply a choice? What's the preferred word?
Yeah lifestyle is normally used as a sort of dog whistle to imply it's just a choice and kinda handwaves the entire experience of being gay or trans etc... I'd just say normalising our existence or helping our community
Got it, thanks.
Because they want to shoot gay people but not get in trouble for it.
Their slogan is literally “down for whatever”. People don’t realize that when you say “it’s all fun and games until you bring her home and her dick is bigger than yours” that at that point the games are over and it’s just fun.
They got triggered.
I am I wrong that the beer tastes like piss anyway? Honestly it’s so dumb I am cracking up.
Apparently they've gone woke, or whatever.
The funniest thing is either way they still paid for the product
Reminds me of a scene in a movie (but I think it was true) where some Christian group bought a ton of rap CDs and crushed them with a steamroller….but they paid for them so that just made the rap group money.
We should put rainbows stickers everywhere, maybe they'll go away
Cause they finally realized that beer tastes like shit
Because racist and prejudiced rednecks think that racist and prejudiced rednecks run and own anheuser busch.
A trans woman who is an activist for transgender people drinks Bud Light and Budweiser honored her by gifting her with a special edition of some Bud Light cans bearing her image. Some people don't want to support a beer company that would do such a thing.
I'm glad they bought more beer to shoot to show they don't support it
Conservatives just found out that their favorite beer has been pro LGBT rights for like 2 decades and they are PISSED
Not like there's anything better to do with them.
Wonder how they would live if they cut out every corporate entity that gave support to things they do not like?
You mean genocide-organisers of the gas companies or slave-owning clothing companies? That be cool if they would consider that and boycot actual assholes.
Is anyone going to mention one of the biggest 'rednecks' who started making this trend widely known was Kid Rock? That's the first post I ever saw relating to 'rednecks shooting bud cans over trans spokesman', though I tend to avoid places where that propagates the most.
They're Rednecks. Do they need any more reason than that? If you need a deeper reason than that, it's because their Redneck buddies are doing the same thing. They just want to fit in.
It's the new republican summer marketing campaign, "go woke, go broke" The ROI stats are just starting to come in, and it's not looking good.
They're afraid it will make them gay.
It is just performative virtue signaling. A virtue to them, anyway.
They destroyed Beer they already paid for to punish the people that sold the beer. I am beyond confused.
Americans are so cringe and embarrassing
It's the eternal quest for relevance. They have nothing to contribute but they can grab attention by destroying beer cans with field artillery pieces
They hate themselves. Next question.
Because they won’t admit how trans women make them feel funny and give them a tiny little button mushroom in the horribly stained underwear they inherited from their grandpappy.
*chefs kiss* haha
Cause of the gay ppl
Wish you steady nerves
because they're idiots, that's why.
Because they did a promo with a controversial trans activist.
Because the marketing campaign is working and Busch knows they will be back just like the guys who burned NFL Jerseys. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrzMJT0t9TY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrzMJT0t9TY) Fuck the NFL and Go Colts!
PLEASE for the love of God don't affiliate the bigots with us rednecks and hillbillies.... Just stop doing that.
Maybe you should consider the reason "bigot" and "redneck" are generally interchangable words
It fuckin shouldn't be. I'm definitely a redneck and idgaf about any of this. I'm all for people being themselves.
Homophobic reasons.
All bud light should be immediately flushed down a toilet not for any reason other than it's a disgrace to the word beer
They are just awful idiots
new AB ad strategy
They hate trans people and so Bud Light has personally attacked them by sponsoring one. In other words, people are closed-minded bigots and will go on delusional and violent tirades against anyone who displays a more open and respectful mind than their own. They're willfully ignorant.
When will right wingers realize a) there are more of US then there are of them and b) them boycotting something only makes it more appealing to the rest of us, even if only to troll their stupid asses. That said, Bud Light is like making love in a canoe.
Because budwwiser doesn't understand its own customer base.
Lmao Budweiser has been LGBTQIA+ supportive for years, funny how you automatically assume only dirtbags drink bud lite
Your going to be downvoted to hell but my god this guy is the most energetic extra person I’ve ever seen. https://youtu.be/eOQbCTCB5-A
Casual transphobia isn't a good look for you.
Ok
Meh, there isnt enough downvotes that a single cat meme cant overcome
Because Rednecks are upset about a person with a mental illness printed on their can of beer.
[удалено]
declining birthrate
Cause they feel like LGBT views are being pushed on them.
Who is pushing rainbow bud light cans in your face? Are they in the room with you now?
classic "being pushed in my face" cope scapegoat. Just say you don't like trans folk, it's less of a mouthful
