I noticed the same thing too! Pretty funny to see their prop for decoding super advanced alien tech is just a regular PC motherboard

ThatGuyNamedMoses

I laughed when I saw it. Why use a low profile cooler at all in this situation haha.

aquartabla

What stood out to me is that I think what is holding down the drive next to the heat sink are the CPU cooler's mounting brackets. I also vaguely remember seeing a CPU cooler as a prop in I think it was one of the newer Star Trek Discovery episodes.

I also noticed Star Trek Picard had a Flashforge 3D printer used as a replicator. It's cool spotting this stuff in the wild.

The daisy chain of many 24pin atx connectors was good too

Consider crossposting this to r/Thatsabooklight

External-Fuel7520

Pretty good show.

ryncewynd

Is the show good? I absolutely loved the audiobook and I'm scared to watch the show in case it ruins it lol

Djinnerator

It's good, but there's a very sudden change in pacing around episode 5. The first season tries to cover the first two books (in ten episodes, iirc) so you can kind of get an idea of how the pacing is. I've heard the Tencent version is better than the Netflix version, except for the budget and over-the-top acting with Tencent. That one also spans around thirty episodes instead of ten.

Pharmaceutical_Joy

I really enjoyed it. So much so that I immediately downloaded the books after watching. The changes are a lot! But the essence of awesomeness remains the same. In your case, I'd watch it just to see the differences from the books.

dtdowntime

ThatGuyNamedMoses
