Yes, I agree. I came to say something of this sort. Perhaps if the first one had a small cardigan or something.... also, it looks a bit busy with the other options due to the patterned skirt with a patterned top.
I'd dry a few different shirts in place of what you posted.
EDIT: Grammar
On an initial reddit scroll, I did think you were not wearing a top in photo one. Obviously a second glance corrected that and you could probably add jewelry or layer something to remove that initial impression, but if you're concerned abouy that then it would probably not be my first choice
Thanks! Yeah, I was concerned it would cause people to do a double-take, and not in the good way. Never thought about adding jewelry or layers to improve it - I'll give it a try :)
Yes, it’s not an ideal color for your skin shade, though the color goes along well with the skirt.
I don’t like pattern mix either, so 2-4 are out for me.
Maybe you could finde still another one?
Honestly when I first saw it it looked fairly nude, if you want to choose this one maybe have like a little short sleeve accessory or something over it so that you don't look naked 😁
I don’t mind the pattern mixing of 3, and I think tucked looks better than loose. But I agree that a different solid top would be better. The first tank did read as nude to me.
I like pattern mixing so I think #2 is very cute for an everyday outfit. I’d avoid #1 as it is too close to your skin tone (which makes it perfect for a base layer just not this). I think for #4 you’d really want to lean into the mismatch/funkiness, I think it could work with some bright chunky jewelry and shoes. I’d personally just go with 2 though.
OP here. My outfit is for going to the park with friends :) I bought top 1 because I thought the neutral colour looked good with the skirt, but now I realize it's quite close to my skin tone and might make me look naked - would like to hear your thoughts and advice! Thanks!
Sadly, I don’t think any of these work. What about a white off the shoulder crop top? Or full length if you aren’t into crop?
Something like [this](https://www.pacsun.com/edikted/jess-off-shoulder-top-6447981.html?store=&country=US¤cy=USD&OriginId=GOG&XCIDP=P%3AG_Shopping_PMAX_W_Tops+%3E+Shirts&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD8PNsdPYH8VRX1TEQr01MFkaZaSQ&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj9-zBhDyARIsAERjds36wSquKd3mUt8uZ-GErpiHLedOcE0RVxq4gQGP9keEElxbE9AJhV8aAhVaEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) maybe?
Or [this one](https://www.forever21.com/us/20012983510103.html?source=shoppingads&glCountry=US&glCurrency=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMax:+FPMX_Smart+Shopping_Womens_Tops&utm_id=71700000108587757&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5qh4NEGsSufNpkrmFh8WPI0_my&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj9-zBhDyARIsAERjds0eMzbk__YdsorYbsGTKeboXMWFFBoGKrhty26dLmD7nPH9AbE89IcaApdeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) if you are into a little crop?
None of them look good with your cute floral skirt. To put a striped top or another contrasting floral top with your skirt looks frumpy( in my opinion.)
The only positive thing about the first top is that it is a solid color. The negative sides are that 1. color would be better in white or another color in the skirt
2. It looks like an under garment 3.It’s too tight.
But if am to answer your question then I say the first one.
If the second had no pattern and was a solid darker color which matched the skirt in some way. I’d choose the second. The cut is good with it. I think the cut of the skirt and its fabric can handle a puffy sleeve as well as long as the cut of the shirt is similar.
I’m not really a fan of any of those tops with the skirt. The first one looks too nude. The other two patterns don’t look right. Maybe a solid color top that is not second skin looking. Plain white or maybe black?
I think you should go for a plain white bodysuit, either a t-shirt style or a squareneck (short or long sleeve)! Check out Abercrombie soft matte collection or aritzia babaton contour
None of them . That is hard to match with because of the color and flowers. Maybe get a plain shirt with one of the colors in the small flowers in skirt would be best option . Or get a plain skirt that will match more things. I don't like the first shirt at all it looks more like a sporty bra
Maybe 1 if you had a belt or a very small cardigan. I think the problem is more fit than anything. You have a great body and it’s just the fit of these that don’t really go. I think if you learned more about fit and your body type, you’d be amazed at the difference. Cause you are smokin’ sister! 😉
Nr. 1 seems to be the best fit. It’s already a very strong pattern, so I personally would not mix it with 2 & 3 and combine patterns. Also, don’t take the comments here to harsh. In the end, everyone has a different style & taste :)
It would look amazing whit a basic black non sleeve top like a tank top black and you put the shirt inside the skirt and style whit a cross silver necklace or something of jewelry and you would look awesome.
Imho, neither of those tops are going well. Perhaps you can try navy blue shades. Also, I didn't even think you were going for 1 as a top. It's too close a match to your skin tone, almost invisible.
I like the third top tucked in! The colour in the stripes pulls it together. But you could try just a simple black or white t-shirt if you want something easy that would definitely go.
I’d pick 1 if you have something like a shawl or cardigan to put over it, otherwise it looks too plain to me. If not, then 2. Personally I don’t mind the mix of patterns.
Yeah I agree with most people saying none of them. I don’t like the pattern shirts with the skirt, and the first shirt looks like an undergarment to me.
I don't like any of the options. The first would look nice if styled well with like a lace crochet bolero maybe or a vest with lots of thin stringy gold jewelry
None of these prints work and the pink top looks more like a top you’d wear under layers. I think a solid colour top that’s more substantial is the way to go with this skirt. Either white or a colour that is in the skirt that isn’t the main colour of the skirt.
I think 3 is the cutest :) I agree none are the best fit but I think the pattern mixing works best there.
I disagree with these comments that you can never pattern mix! It can be done successfully but it really depends on the patterns and the different colors going on. That said, a plain white tank would probably be cutest with this particular skirt lol
After reading a few responses, you could add a short, lacy, little dark pink top, with cap sleeves, and possibly open front with tie waist over #1. Add some big earrings, maybe a simple bead necklace with cute sandles and you're good to go. Sometimes people think a complete outfit is too much, but the effect can be amazing. Go for it.
3 loosely tucked because there is at least one band of color that relatively matches the skirt and the texture of the top sort of goes with how chaotically the floral pattern of the skirt distributes... A little whimsy.
Do you have a solid yellow shirt or tank? I see some flowers in yellow and I think that would be a good color to pull out. Also solid navy would be a nice color to anchor the whole look. If not, top 1 is the best out of these.
I’m going against all the “you need a solid with a print.” That’s only true if you prefer a traditional look. You can absolutely put the stripes with it (I wouldn’t do the small floral print, because the skirt is already that. If you’re contrasting, make it confident.) But if you are going for fun and whimsy, you can’t dabble. Add bright electric blue shoes and tons of colorful beads and bangles and a really fun shoulder bag purse. Now, if THAT doesn’t appeal to you, then, yes, you need a solid—preferably a darker, more saturated color to balance the skirt. Not pastel.
None of them work well with this skirt, but if you have something similar to the third one that matches the fabric of the skirt I think it would look cute.
And this skirt will look better with a belt.
1 is probably the best but I don’t love the awkward line under the bust. 2 is a little busy to me with the pattern matching and lace. And the top in 3 and 4 is a bit frumpy to pair with a flowing skirt like that.
What you should be going for with a skirt like that is a plain solid color top that’s a little snug to balance the flowiness of the skirt. I’m with others - these don’t work.
For a dressed down look, go for a white tank with a denim jacket.
For a more dressed up look, a white top with cardigan or a blouse with a coordinated color from the skirt (like the purple or yellow).
I like the first one the best, but at first, I thought it was just a bra. It's a little too close to your skin color, but it's definitely the most flattering fit!

Unfortunately I don’t really think any of them really work.
And this is exactly why i wear dresses. I feel like I can never find the right top for a skirt.
Maybe just a plain white Tshirt? + if it’s cropped
This
I agree with this. I think the best would be just plain white for this skirt.
I'm a straight dude with no money invested in my wardrobe for the last decade and you took the words out of my mouth
It’s all good. Sometimes we all just need a second opinion. No judgement, just trying to look out for my girl.
Yes, I agree. I came to say something of this sort. Perhaps if the first one had a small cardigan or something.... also, it looks a bit busy with the other options due to the patterned skirt with a patterned top. I'd dry a few different shirts in place of what you posted. EDIT: Grammar
Respectfully none of the work. Solid color, but not number 1. Tank is too tight and style doesn’t work with that skirt. T shirt in a dusty rose color.
I don't think any of them are a great fit, as I prefer not to mix patterns. If I had to choose, it would be 1.
Thanks! You don't think 1 can be mistaken for nude? I don't have a great eye for these things.
It CAN be mistaken for nudes. Get a darker pink color. Tightness is fine though.
I initially did think that it was a top that reached right below your chest, so maybe a bit
It tricked me. I don’t like it.
It does look nude too me as well. I think a different top will be better
Honestly when I first saw it it looked fairly nude, if you want to choose this one maybe have like a little short sleeve accessory or something over it so that you don't look naked 😁
I would wear a black or white tank with that!
Thanks! I do have some white tanks, so I'll give them a try :)
I don’t mind the pattern mixing of 3, and I think tucked looks better than loose. But I agree that a different solid top would be better. The first tank did read as nude to me.
None of the above. Fit of 3 (looser and tucked) + color of 1 (solid, rose colored). Either a shirt or a tank top.
#1 with a denim jacket over it.
2nd one
You should only wear a solid with the skirt. The tank top looks like an undergarment in the photo. It may look better in person.
It absolutely is a camisole you wear underneath sheer clothing imo
I was being nice.
None of the above
I like pattern mixing so I think #2 is very cute for an everyday outfit. I’d avoid #1 as it is too close to your skin tone (which makes it perfect for a base layer just not this). I think for #4 you’d really want to lean into the mismatch/funkiness, I think it could work with some bright chunky jewelry and shoes. I’d personally just go with 2 though.
A dark pink or magenta tank top would work nicely. The light pink is too light.
Honestly none of them. Nice skirt, nice tops, but none of the tops particularly blend well with the colors and patterns of the skirt.
#1
OP here. My outfit is for going to the park with friends :) I bought top 1 because I thought the neutral colour looked good with the skirt, but now I realize it's quite close to my skin tone and might make me look naked - would like to hear your thoughts and advice! Thanks!
1st! I think the texture of the other tops don’t quite work with the patterns.
I like #2.
Absolutely the spotty one 👍
3
1 or 2, or whichever is most comfortable
I’d like 3 if it fit better, but maybe 2 overall?
I like #3 tucked in
I think 1 is the best of the bunch, do you have a tank with a darker pink similar to the flowers in the skirt?
1
1
Stripes tucked in
I like #2.
2nd
Sadly, I don’t think any of these work. What about a white off the shoulder crop top? Or full length if you aren’t into crop? Something like [this](https://www.pacsun.com/edikted/jess-off-shoulder-top-6447981.html?store=&country=US¤cy=USD&OriginId=GOG&XCIDP=P%3AG_Shopping_PMAX_W_Tops+%3E+Shirts&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD8PNsdPYH8VRX1TEQr01MFkaZaSQ&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj9-zBhDyARIsAERjds36wSquKd3mUt8uZ-GErpiHLedOcE0RVxq4gQGP9keEElxbE9AJhV8aAhVaEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) maybe? Or [this one](https://www.forever21.com/us/20012983510103.html?source=shoppingads&glCountry=US&glCurrency=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMax:+FPMX_Smart+Shopping_Womens_Tops&utm_id=71700000108587757&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5qh4NEGsSufNpkrmFh8WPI0_my&gclid=Cj0KCQjwj9-zBhDyARIsAERjds0eMzbk__YdsorYbsGTKeboXMWFFBoGKrhty26dLmD7nPH9AbE89IcaApdeEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) if you are into a little crop?
Pink looks the best. They all look good except the striped tucked in however it looks great untucked and I’d rate that #2

2 or 4 but none of them work great
a solid crop top (white)
None you need plain white or plain black
None of them Get a fitted black tank to tuck in, that would probs work
Second.
The 2nd one looks nice
The first one with maybe a white cardigan? 😊
2nd one is best, but I don’t think they work too well at all
2
2
2 works best
Two
I’m not really a fan of any of those tops with the skirt. The first one looks too nude. The other two patterns don’t look right. Maybe a solid color top that is not second skin looking. Plain white or maybe black?
2
I don't like any of these options, tbh. But #3 tucked is the best here
I think you should go for a plain white bodysuit, either a t-shirt style or a squareneck (short or long sleeve)! Check out Abercrombie soft matte collection or aritzia babaton contour
2 defs 2

2
You need a silky looking pink shirt with this. Two different types of material will not work!
Imho, neither of those tops are going well. Perhaps you can try navy blue shades. Also, I didn't even think you were going for 1 as a top. It's too close a match to your skin tone, almost invisible.
Neither! Although the first one is definitely the best of the 3! Maybe that style in another color.
I like the third top tucked in! The colour in the stripes pulls it together. But you could try just a simple black or white t-shirt if you want something easy that would definitely go.
The first one. Never mix patterns it’s always ugly especially with stripes
I’d pick 1 if you have something like a shawl or cardigan to put over it, otherwise it looks too plain to me. If not, then 2. Personally I don’t mind the mix of patterns.
If you have white do white
Yeah I agree with most people saying none of them. I don’t like the pattern shirts with the skirt, and the first shirt looks like an undergarment to me.
None really
If I had to choose it would be the first though I’m not a huge fan of any of these combos.
I don't like any of the options. The first would look nice if styled well with like a lace crochet bolero maybe or a vest with lots of thin stringy gold jewelry
I think a black or navy blue body suit with short sleeves would look great!
I like 3 and I’m blind I thought 1 was nude, 2 also looks really nice, white and wine red go together
The first one, for no other reason than I’ve always been a cami fan ☺️☺️
I would do a non patterned solid black or white tank. The nude isn't really working.
[удалено]
I like the stripey one untucked the best, but I think something else could be better.
None of these prints work and the pink top looks more like a top you’d wear under layers. I think a solid colour top that’s more substantial is the way to go with this skirt. Either white or a colour that is in the skirt that isn’t the main colour of the skirt.
None, it needs to be non-patterned
Keep trying. None of these are it
4
None imo . I love the shirt though :)
1!
Option 1
1
I think 3 is the cutest :) I agree none are the best fit but I think the pattern mixing works best there. I disagree with these comments that you can never pattern mix! It can be done successfully but it really depends on the patterns and the different colors going on. That said, a plain white tank would probably be cutest with this particular skirt lol
Solid black?
1 is the best, the others don't blend gently with the skirt pattern .
I’m sorry but no to all. You need a solid colour top with sleeves, that’s darker and looser than the first one.
1 would be the best i dont like mixing pattwrns just as much as these other people
1
After reading a few responses, you could add a short, lacy, little dark pink top, with cap sleeves, and possibly open front with tie waist over #1. Add some big earrings, maybe a simple bead necklace with cute sandles and you're good to go. Sometimes people think a complete outfit is too much, but the effect can be amazing. Go for it.
3 loosely tucked because there is at least one band of color that relatively matches the skirt and the texture of the top sort of goes with how chaotically the floral pattern of the skirt distributes... A little whimsy.
1
Do you have a solid yellow shirt or tank? I see some flowers in yellow and I think that would be a good color to pull out. Also solid navy would be a nice color to anchor the whole look. If not, top 1 is the best out of these.
Agree with other commenters, it's a beautiful skirt, but none of the tops do it justice. They all clash poorly
Only the first one goes.
1
I’m going against all the “you need a solid with a print.” That’s only true if you prefer a traditional look. You can absolutely put the stripes with it (I wouldn’t do the small floral print, because the skirt is already that. If you’re contrasting, make it confident.) But if you are going for fun and whimsy, you can’t dabble. Add bright electric blue shoes and tons of colorful beads and bangles and a really fun shoulder bag purse. Now, if THAT doesn’t appeal to you, then, yes, you need a solid—preferably a darker, more saturated color to balance the skirt. Not pastel.
#1
Last one is probably the best
Try a plain white top 🤍
A plain white or black shirt would look nicer.
I like 3 but since it's tucked it folds a little and that looks weird. Really like the color harmony in#1. I am ALL for mixing patterns :)))
Black turtleneck would go so hard
Tucked in stripe
None of them work well with this skirt, but if you have something similar to the third one that matches the fabric of the skirt I think it would look cute. And this skirt will look better with a belt.
I would do an oversized shirt w/ it
1 is probably the best but I don’t love the awkward line under the bust. 2 is a little busy to me with the pattern matching and lace. And the top in 3 and 4 is a bit frumpy to pair with a flowing skirt like that. What you should be going for with a skirt like that is a plain solid color top that’s a little snug to balance the flowiness of the skirt. With how long the skirt is maybe pair it with a top that has short sleeves to match the same vibe coverage-wise. And for color you could do white, light pink, or match one of the lesser used colors of the skirt like a green, lilac, or yellow.
A more flared skirt and maybe a button up linen or similar fabric cropped would be a really interesting combo
Only number one
I’m with others - these don’t work. For a dressed down look, go for a white tank with a denim jacket. For a more dressed up look, a white top with cardigan or a blouse with a coordinated color from the skirt (like the purple or yellow).
A simple white blouse (not skin tight fit) would be nice
1 or 3!
I like 1
Don’t like any of them that much.
First
You need a simple black shirt.
I think I’d go with a little bit darker top.
Do a tight fit top like the first one but match it to one of the colors found in the skirt.
#1
Perhaps something in the same shade as the skirt something floaty ?
The last one
first one is super cute imo! It accents the lighter colors within the skirt
Number three both matches and doesn't make you look like you're naked.
Either the solid or the second one as they are not as "busy" as the skirt 💯
[удалено]
Number 1 is the best. The other patterns clash.
Maybe 1 with a jacket
I like the first one the best, but at first, I thought it was just a bra. It's a little too close to your skin color, but it's definitely the most flattering fit!
I think something like a plain linen crop top would work nicely. I’d avoid another print with the skirt
I like the striped knit tucked in
None of these tops work. The closest one would be 1. A form fitting black tank top should work
1 is ok but it looks like underwear.
None of them match , but the 2nd is the best option
try a white or black tank like 1
1 or 3 is okay
1, and 2 I love
You would look super cute in a nice white tee with this skirt
I like 2!
