I did luke ross mod a couple months ago and that was sweet now I'm downloading gta v again but im fairly certain if it has first person it should run fine.
I've only played some of GTA 3 and the only issue i've found is that I can't use Volumetric clouds without artifacts in VR. So as long as you use the normal clouds it's kinda perfect. Outside of that I maxed everything out on a 2070S and 3700X and was smooth as butter using Virtual Desktop on a Quest Pro.
it is not, but there is a luke ross vr mod. It's ok in vr. It is one of the few games I've played flat in the last five years, and I couldn't be bothered to replay it in VR.
Please lemme know how it fares with Ready or Not, I've been playing it lately and think VR would be awesome (still hoping the devs do an official full VR mod for it - gun handling and arrests in that game would be awesome)
This is amazing. But, I wish there could be a plug-in to allow any dev to ship their game with acceptable 6DOF VR. This is what VR needs! Thanks Praydog.
Technically UE5 has all the tools required for a game to be VR compatible. This mod basically makes some translations to allow those functions to be enabled in games that didn’t use them.
I know, but Praydog spent a lot of time and effort to try and make it make sense as much as possible from the get-go. I guess what he did is much more complex than only toggling VR to On.
I guess when a VR Dev enables VR, it’s not much. Similar to what we had back when Praydog started working. Now, he managed to do a lot to emulate 6DOF VR. It was not an easy task, and I guess a lot of the basic work a dev would need to do is covered somewhat by his work.
So, I understand there is a way to do that already, but IMHO it needs to be much better and easier to do for devs to have the courage to ship a product with VR support.
We need to remember that devs are held to a higher standard than mods. It’s not possible to release a game for PSVR 2 as barebones as the Subnautica VR implementation for example.
Subnautica VR is a great example of the absolute bare minimum effort by devs to implement VR into their game. Fortunately there's SubmersedVR to pick up their slack. Thanks modders!
Like others have said, it already exists at least for Unreal. The devs/publishers just dont care... and lets face it, some probably dont even know how to do it(devs arent perfect magical creatures that know everything)
Anyone have any recommendations for the best games to try? The excel spreadsheet is a bit overwhelming!
Edit: keen to checkout Trepang2 if it has 6dof controls like I have seen in a YouTube video. Anyone tried it?
Edit 2: tested Trepang2 and worked well after some tweaking. Just went haywire after 15 mins and had to stop. Tried again and alignment went haywire again. Not sure what’s causing it, just needs some refinement. Amazing this is available though. Impressive.
I worked out the game ill will is running great but only through Steamlink. Actually I think so far with Steamlink is the smoothest to run games.
Quest Link and cable it struggles and virtual desktop does aswell. It's going to be one of these trial and error as being so new it's hard to tinker.
But for now stay on Steamlink to run games.
13600k/3080 here and VD was all I tried and it was smooth. Even did godlike if the game was not too demanding. Key is perhaps installing OpenXR if you haven't done that yet, and that has it's own settings. IDK or it could be something else.
Yeah, I probably don't know what I am doing, lol. OpenVR, XR, IDK. Perhaps I am thinking of OpenXR toolkit. Which has FSR and other goodies built in. And allows one not to have SteamVR or Oculus running in the background.
I didnt have to install anything in the end. I just changed the OpenXR setting in SteamVR Settings to Steam (was Oculus previously), now the OpenXR option loads and works in UEXR.
Tried Soul Caliber VI and Little Nightmares because they were cheap to buy and had a good rating from the UEVR tester in that spreadsheet. Both worked great and are perfect examples of why 3rd person games in VR are not to be overlooked.
I would like to try little nightmare. if it worked, that would be awesome. I'm just not sure if I could handle the camera movement. with VR and side scroller, you need teleport with a static camera.
Tried it. Just turn off pitch control in the camera settings. Game ran like a dream, camera movements were 99% smooth. IMO pitch control "off" should be the default setting.
Go to [http://uevr.flat2vr.com](http://uevr.flat2vr.com) or [http://uevr.io](http://uevr.io) to get started!
If you can, donate to Praydog's work here (he's spent thousands of hours doing the impossible). [https://patreon.com/praydog/](https://patreon.com/praydog/)
The monumental day is finally here. Praydog has perhaps created the most ambitious modding project that’s ever been attempted.
Because UEVR is so massive in scope (there’s over 11,000+ UE games on Steam alone and many times that shared other places like [http://Itch.io](http://Itch.io)) it’s hard to streamline this process so that the average “tech-illiterate” can always have a perfect working experience for every obscure game they might want to play. We’re gonna have a LOT of people asking questions (and the same questions over and over again) so please be kind and patient and point people to the FAQ, etc.
We are working on bringing game profiles directly to RaiPal’s game launcher so you can just hit play and the best profile auto installs, but unfortunately that’s not all setup yet and we’ll even need your help to make more of the profiles and fixes for certain games.
Please be patient, help steer others to the correct channels in the #ue-supported-games Discord channel , help others to set correct expectations (the sky is the limit for what’s possible with UEVR, but some games might not be super playable at the moment and will need some custom code written, etc.)
Enjoy!!
i read the comments in the Discord. The photo says "Works Perfectly" but praydog clarifies that means "The ratings are related to graphical effects/stability not motion controls or any other feature". So there are some controller issues it sounds like, but graphically it is good.
I hope this will make all the game developers, unreal and unity, AAA and Indi, realize that, in order for a game to run in VR, they don't need to sink a huge amount of resources to optimize the game into half life Alex level of interaction. They just need to be a little mindful about a few things and that will make majority of PC/PS5 players extremely happy. For example, don't just use a 2d UI overlay, put the UI elements on a little plane that has an actual distance to the player, so that it will have a reasonable depth in VR mode.
I hope that one day, ALL games will natively support VR.
6 and 10 secs is Octopath Traveler 2
34 secs is Close To The Sun
45 secs is Little Nightmares
1m40s is Gravel
1m47s is Atomic Heart
1M58s is RoboCop: Rogue City
2m02s is Aliens: Fireteam Elite
last game i think is Visage
Just learned about this and while I don't fully "get it", I am absolutely blown away that someone could make a utility that is so widely compatible. Fighters, racers, pixel art games, AAA games, absolutely incredible. I really need to figure out Virtual Desktop ASAP because this is ridiculous.
You don't need VD, I believe this also works with the steam link app, install it on the headset from the quest store, and connect your headset and PC to the same network, run steam on your PC, then start the app on the headset, follow the directions for pairing, EZPZ.
I tried my hand at getting pcvr working and so far virtual desktop is the only one that works. Steam link never has audio. But VD does. I dunno it's a big tangled mess of apps launching. Virtual Desktop on the headset. Then Steam, Steam VR, and the game. This should all be easier. :-/
My experience with steamlink and audio is if you're using an HDMI monitor, that connection takes audio priority for some reason, switching to DP or DVI don't have the issue.
You'll have to have Steam running (in the taskbar is fine) for the app to connect to the PC, once it connects, the app will let you access your game library and desktop PC so you can also run non-steam games.
I tried Ashen, Visage, and Little Nightmare, all worked very well with some tweaking. Not janky, almost like made for VR. This is a groundbreaking mod. Thank you Praydog.
It's awesome to properly play 3rd person games in VR. Tried UEVR quickly with Soul Caliber VI and Little Nightmares and was thoroughly impressed. Might actually start playing "2D" games again if the experience is as tight as those two games offered.
I know there are those that shit on any VR game that's not 1st person, but I'm not going to argue with them. Try this out and assuming your set-up can handle it, you'll fall in love with the experience.
https://github.com/Raicuparta/universal-unity-vr
I haven't tried this and I don't know if it's ready for people to check out, but Raicuparta is one of the big names in the VR modding scene so it's legit.
I am beside myself with excitement to just VIBE inside Hogwarts Legacy. I played it on ps5 and felt it was just begging for a PSVR2 mode to just do virtual tourism of Hogwarts/Hogsmead. This mod seems to make that dream come true. I cant wait.
Pinball FX of all titles actually! Me and a bunch of others have begged them for years to make their current flagship title (that features recreations of all those old real life tables) VR compatible instead of releasing VR spinoffs with their own tables only (I heard its partly a licensing issue).
I would also love to play Ace Combat in VR but not sure how heavy that would be (fuck reprojection).
Ghost Runners is free on the epic games store today and it is listed as working with this mod. Probably going to give that a shot later.
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/ghostrunner
Under #3 is a Google doc with them. - https://beastsaber.notion.site/beastsaber/Praydog-s-UEVR-Beta-Getting-Started-Guide-4c4d94ecf8cf4933b04ac362411a930e
As long as you turn settings down. My 3090 is struggling to maintain 72 fps for Spirit of the North at high settings at around 2500x2500 per eye.
Looks great tho.
3070 struggles on a lot of things because of its low VRAM. I have a 3070 TI and am constantly disappointed with the performance. A lot of UE4 games also suffer from shader compilation stutter on PC which wont make for a fun time in VR.

This looks incredible! I will definitely be trying this out when I get a chance in a few days. Away for the new year currently.
After trying it out I probably will donate something. I really want to see this fleshed out.
Anyone tested if this works with games installed via gamepass or the microsoft store?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see multiple gamepass games DO work per the spreadsheet. Very good news!
I've tested it with Quest 2 and GTA V from rockstar games but sometimes it says that the game does not seem to run unreal engine, or sometimes it continues but the screen is black in quest 2 (with oculus virtual desktop) or it hangs in the previous screen that says "starting" the game in vr... Any help please ?
Dude! Your awesome, (PrayDog) thank you for all your hard work. I'm new to the scene (modding) and cannot believe how far VR has come!
I'm 55 and remember when vr was like a 20lb Samsung odyssey with half inch cables coming off of it and the graphics were triangles and squares (literally).
Picked up a odyssey+ and a quest 2 for 100 bucks for both of them.\\ And was floored at how tripped out the android style games were. Now your talking AAA gaming.
As a former old school commodore days hacker, I can appreciate your hard work pulling this off. People, this guy needs protected at all costs!
....holy shit this IS huge. Ready or Not here it comes hopefully
I just tried GTA san andreas and even in 3rd person its chill as hell!!!!
Do you think this mod run well with Grand Theft Auto V?
I did luke ross mod a couple months ago and that was sweet now I'm downloading gta v again but im fairly certain if it has first person it should run fine.
No, it doesn't use Unreal Engine
Thanks!
You tried the definitive edition?
Yeah vice city was really cool too.
I've only played some of GTA 3 and the only issue i've found is that I can't use Volumetric clouds without artifacts in VR. So as long as you use the normal clouds it's kinda perfect. I tried to run it and couldn't get the motion controls to work and then the mod crashed it was super weird. Im gonna try again soon
Check the discord people have posted working configs.
will do thank you
curious about this one and Ground Branch should be possible as well.
> Ground Branch works great.

I love listening to music.
Satisfactory is on the list!? The factory must grow!!!
Does it work with Epic games or just Steam?

There are very few times I wished I had kept my rig up to modern specs, and this is one of them.
It's the perfect time to make it happen!
Two kids in college... nada.
It's an inopportune time to make that happen!
It is indeed but they will hopefully land a job at McDonalds.
You still got two kidneys, right? Blood plasma?? 😂
Look into a remote gaming pc like shadow 👌🏽
What is this? And what do I need? I have a meta quest 2
Holy... Satisfactory is in the list of confirmed games. Unfortunately I only have it on Epic 😔
I'm pretty sure you can use this with epic games
i read the comments in the Discord. The photo says "Works Perfectly" but praydog clarifies that means "The ratings are related to graphical effects/stability not motion controls or any other feature". So there are some controller issues it sounds like, but graphically it is good.
Works with legit games from any storefront. Played ghost runner on epic in vr, was awesome. * # ghost runner is compatible and free on epic today
Ghostwire Tokyo was a free game recently too.
Absolutely works with epic!

Can someone make a list of games featured in the trailer? They look awesome but useless if you don’t know what the games are :(
6 and 10 secs is Octopath Traveler 2 34 secs is Close To The Sun 45 secs is Little Nightmares 1m40s is Gravel 1m47s is Atomic Heart 1M58s is RoboCop: Rogue City 2m02s is Aliens: Fireteam Elite last game i think is Visage
1:10 Jedi (Fallen Order?) 1:30 Hifi Rush 1:43 Veninith 1:53 Under the Waves
This. So much this.
What’s the game name at 0:46? The one with a ball
Venineth?
Was looking for what it was as well, cheers. It's annoying when they don't put game names in trailers. Bought it as it's on sale!
I just want RDR2
Luke Ross is your best bet
Yea, this is what I was hoping for.
Just learned about this and while I don't fully "get it", I am absolutely blown away that someone could make a utility that is so widely compatible. Fighters, racers, pixel art games, AAA games, absolutely incredible. I really need to figure out Virtual Desktop ASAP because this is ridiculous.
I don’t understand it either tbh does it mean every game is just changed into a VR view instead? Am I able to aim down sights etc???

Whoa that is bananas.

Computer is hooked to my TV, so HDMI is my only option there. :(

Hope so. Even when using steam link, does it force open Steam VR on your desktop too?

I dunno why I thought hearthstone would be on the list… I hate you blizzard!
Top recommendations? Even that rpg looked so cool.
Is this for playing non-VR games in VR?
Yes, almost every Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Engine 5 Flat game in full 6DOF VR
And Unreal Engine 5 games too!
Can't wait to try this with my library. Bless you and your work, Praydog!

What is the last game shown called?
Looks like Demonologist
Amazing, Happy New Year!
Does anyone know the name of the marble game at 1:42?
Apparently it's Vinineth. Currently on sale on Steam!
Thanks :)
postal 2 here we go
🤯🤯this is an AI level advancement for VR🤯holy
So you can play flatscreen games in VR that haven't been ported? Sounds like sorcery.
Would a 4070 be good enough to run most games compatible with UEVR?
Yes, easily.
As long as you turn settings down. My 3090 is struggling to maintain 72 fps for Spirit of the North at high settings at around 2500x2500 per eye. Looks great tho.
haven't nearly the best graphics card and asking if its good ? wtf
3070 struggles on a lot of things because of its low VRAM. I have a 3070 TI and am constantly disappointed with the performance. A lot of UE4 games also suffer from shader compilation stutter on PC which wont make for a fun time in VR.
A 4070 is slower than a 3080, it's a fair question. Some games will likely struggle, but not too many.
That dude who sells his “mod” is fukt
I already loved anything dog (as in canine) related, so Praydog is just adding to the fascination and love I have for dogs XD it's no coincidence Dog is God in reverse!
Indeed no wonder silent hill 2 had dog as a god ending. All pray to the dog
Amen to that.
Like-wise - I'm a cat guy and happy to play stray in VR! :P BTW i think praydog is just a play on words of **Prairie dogs?**
The sadest thing is my dream VR game is made in UE3 :(
Hopefully this'll catch on and they'll expand it to earlier Unreal Engine versions! You never know. Unless it's actually something specificly vr code related that's only found in 4 and 5.
The first game I thought of was Bioshock and...yeah.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but it just keeps crashing for me =( everyone else got it to work no problem?
I mean it just released. There are going to be lots of bugs.
I got it working, my antivirus (kaspersky) was quarantining one of the files
So glad that Microsoft got Windows Defender working so there's no need for any third party anti-virus programs.
Yup! I uninstalled that kaspersky thing lol windows defender is good enough and it lets me use the mod
This looks incredible! I will definitely be trying this out when I get a chance in a few days. Away for the new year currently. After trying it out I probably will donate something. I really want to see this fleshed out.
11k omfg... that's insane, racing, driving tiles ?
How can i download this UEVR ?
do games launched from pc game pass work?
Yes!
Anyone tested if this works with games installed via gamepass or the microsoft store? EDIT: Nevermind, I see multiple gamepass games DO work per the spreadsheet. Very good news!
I am quite a bit out of loop on this - From what I've gathered it's a 'mod' that lets you play any UE game in VR?
Yeah! Essentially any Unreal Engine 4 and 5 game in full 6DOF VR, often even with motion controls.
Well that certainly opens a lot of doors!
Oh my goodness
Lots to get stuck into ! interesting to see just how playable 'working well'" is
Working well means with the profile, not out of the box
O3 only or on any PC VR setup?
They put the atomic heart thing in there lmaozz
I've tested it with Quest 2 and GTA V from rockstar games but sometimes it says that the game does not seem to run unreal engine, or sometimes it continues but the screen is black in quest 2 (with oculus virtual desktop) or it hangs in the previous screen that says "starting" the game in vr... Any help please ?
Dude! Your awesome, (PrayDog) thank you for all your hard work. I'm new to the scene (modding) and cannot believe how far VR has come!
