Either BoboVR will come out with black versions to match (most likely option) or everyone who buys one of them will be stuck with a white/black/lime green combo (assuming they don't also swap out the facial interface) lmfao
That is completely true!
However, for most Skyrim fans it was a disappointment that failed to meet expectations, luckily mods have transformed Skyrim VR into one of the best VR games period.
If it isn't possible to get mods for the game on Quest, then it'll be rather unfortunate but I'd love to at least have the game on the Quest regardless.
It will take at least 2 years until this sees the light of day. Xbox has an opportunity to bring a better cloud experience to VR, but I bet they also want to have their own VR stuff. Fortunately, Xbox has a lot of games that "could" work with VR, and Starfield VR would be a killer app for their headset (plus all the other stuff they could make, like Halo ;\])
Unfortunate, but I think you might be right - they seem to be in a tight enough spot at the moment to take any big risks but maybe an approach different to Sony's might be seen as viable.
No one ever remembers Phil Spencer saying, on-stage, during the announcement of the Xbox One X, that it would be compatible with the Oculus. Obviously that didn't happen - but the fact they were confident enough to announce it, tells me they see value in making the Xbox compatible with an existing headset and it's player base.
My guess is that sometime soon, Xbox will officially partner up with Meta and use them to make the "official" Xbox VR headset. With the rumours of the Series X refresh (let's call it the Pro model) coming built with WiFi 6e for "faster downloads and connectivity" or whatever the leak said, I reckon Xbox will use this to push Cloud Gaming.
If the console can generate WiFi 6e, then they can essentially replicate Airlink/Virtual Desktop with the Xbox taking the place of the PC. The focus is going to be on playing games on the cloud through the headset. The Quest currently can do this, but I definitely see them pivoting to a version of a Quest that's marketed with this as a focus
All just a guess based on Xbox not wanting to commit to VR as all of their hardware gimmicks thus far haven't taken off and seeing it as a small market, but with Meta doing all the work on hardware, I could see it happening. Especially with Xbox focusing so hard on Game Pass and cloud based gaming, this could be a good entry for them.
I've often wondered why they've not just collaborated with a well established platform such as Meta via a 3D VR section of game pass, so im hoping this is or may soon be the case as it seems to be a smarter and less risky approach to Sony's.
Thats a good point tbf - I remember Sony's main argument being a monopoly on the industry so allowing Sony to go it alone in VR might have strengthened Microsoft's case.
OP:
>It’s black with a green interface
Article OP linked:
>Not an actual product render.
You do realize that the picture provided is just a mockup and nobody knows what it will look like yet, right?
Xbox ; we went to have gamepads on all platforms.
Zuck: there will be an Xbox themed headset for playing gamepass (literally) on a big screen
Every idiot here: oh, VR coming to Xbox.
And I just got my quest 3 10 days ago and only played a little yesterday. Brought from the us to me. I like the color combo, black controllers would go hard.
Looks like a product from Razer
Some important corrections, unless it's been announced in another official source as far as I'm aware the Quest Model has not been announced, so while the Xbox themed headset COULD be a Quest 3, it could also be a future meta headset, such as a theoretical Pro2.
The image here also isn't a product render, just a concept render. So it's important to know that we also don't know what the limited addition Headset will look like. (although black and green is a fairly expected and welcome outcome, I'm sure it'll look very good.)
I'm curious what the OculusQuest Controllers and Xbox Controller will look like, I'd love if the Quest controllers were Xbox themed and the Xbox controller was Quest themed. Black and Green Quest Controllers and White and Black Quest-Themed Xbox Controller would be so cool!
At the bare minimum I hope the included Xbox Controller isn't just the standard black controller, it should be limited edition just like the headset and presumably the Quest Controllers will be.
It’s not a real product. They’re just talking about their partnerships and what the future will look like. I doubt we’ll be seeing anything for a while, maybe in another year or 2.
Haha, I joked in the other post that the Xbox headset is just going to be a green and black Quest 3. Well damn not so funny now…or even funnier? Weird.
The model hasn't been officially confirmed based on what I've seen, so it could be a Quest 3 or a future headset.
Also the image is merely a concept render so we don't know for certain that the headset will be Green and Black (even if that makes sense for sure!).
We also don't know if the included Quest Controllers or the Xbox Controller will be limited edition as well. I think it's safe to assume that the Quest Controllers will be, but I hope the included Xbox Controller will be as well.
My hope would be for Xbox-themed Quest Controllers (Black and Green with iconic colored buttons) and a Quest-Themed Xbox Controller (White and Black!)
You live close to one of the data centres then. Its quality is entirely dependant on that factor, which is why it is completely unusable for a lot of people that live far away from the major cities.
Everyone's bobovr still white
Either BoboVR will come out with black versions to match (most likely option) or everyone who buys one of them will be stuck with a white/black/lime green combo (assuming they don't also swap out the facial interface) lmfao
Maybe they could port over Skyrim VR while they're at it.
Running Skyrim is one thing but running Skyrim with mods is completely different and Skyrim without mods is a let down.
If I put Skyrim VR in front of my 13 year old, they are not going to be disappointed there's no mods. Because, ya know - ITS STILL SKYRIM IN VR.
That is completely true! However, for most Skyrim fans it was a disappointment that failed to meet expectations, luckily mods have transformed Skyrim VR into one of the best VR games period. Game Pass app on Quest lists 2d as a tag for games. Oddly specific when every game is 2d. Hoping we get some 3d VR content.
They are technically correct, the best kind of correct!
They mean like Super Mario World (2D) vs Mario 64 (3D).
That's what I thought too, but one of the 2d games was Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Interesting...
Please support remote play via the Xbox app on Quest. Also support higher than 720p. Tired of side loading just to get a subpar experience.
I use the quest browser for cloud gaming and it honestly works great. Cloud games tend to work better in a browser than in the app, interestingly
AFAIK you can’t remote play from your console this way. Only cloud gaming can do so. I’m more interested in remote play.
You can use [Better xCloud](https://better-xcloud.github.io) with Quest. It supports xCloud + Remote Play + 1080p.
Whoa! Thanks.
Now I have the regret of buying my Quest 3 which is stupid because the only difference is the color. Our minds are stupid things.
I don't regret it but much prefer the black color for my electronics of all kinds.
Lol same, I just bought mine. But I guess all the accessories are also white rn, and I want my headstrap and stuff to match
This just made me less sad cause yeah tbh it wont look as nice w white aftermarket straps

Does this mean Xbox is finally considering dipping into VR? Still waiting on Halo: MCC VR.
I would guess not really, they just see it as another platform for their normal Gamepass Ultimate streaming. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.
Unfortunate, but I think you might be right - they seem to be in a tight enough spot at the moment to take any big risks but maybe an approach different to Sony's might be seen as viable.

I imagine that maybe, if the market gets a little bigger, they can port some of their games to VR, making it exclusive to quest, initially.
I've often wondered why they've not just collaborated with a well established platform such as Meta via a 3D VR section of game pass, so im hoping this is or may soon be the case as it seems to be a smarter and less risky approach to Sony's.
Maybe Xbox didn’t make any move because of the activision/blizzard thing, as anything was a reason for Sony to contest the buy.
Thats a good point tbf - I remember Sony's main argument being a monopoly on the industry so allowing Sony to go it alone in VR might have strengthened Microsoft's case.

Spells gamepass gamepad, calls other people idiot.
We need Minecraft

Please don't make it limited, make the black default again :(
What games can you use a controller on?
Xbox games
I just want VR games to run from the Series X to the Quest 3 or if not that then the next console iteration.
I’m so glad I didn’t buy a Q3 yet
Kind of the same, my Q2 has been fine, but I'm a sucker for special editions, also as an Xbox fan
Idk if I should return the one I just got and wait??

I'd love to be able to play regular Xbox games but in full 3D immersion. Like GTA V. Meta & Xbox, please!!
Mobile hardware is not there to play GTA 5 on a normal mode, how could it run in vr?
It's just a dream. Just a dream Johnny.
It’s not a real product. They’re just talking about their partnerships and what the future will look like. I doubt we’ll be seeing anything for a while, maybe in another year or 2.
Forza Horizon VR support in the Future?
Looking at my quest 3 and my bobo S3 and I think everything will be allwhite 😭
The best collab would be when we can connect Quest 2/3 via USB3(or at least via Wifi) on Xbox SX and play VR games 😂
Haha, I joked in the other post that the Xbox headset is just going to be a green and black Quest 3. Well damn not so funny now…or even funnier? Weird.

Game pass pre installed and comes with free trial I hope 🤞
I mean, you can already install the xCloud app on it, so not really a big difference. I think it all comes down to the color of the headset.
Will M$ officially start supporting VR on XBOX? Cause they were totally against it
No. It’ll be a Quest headset that comes with a Xbox controller for Xbox Gamepass Streaming. Its moronic to think Xbox console will support VR now
xcloud latency is trash
I haven’t had any issues with it.
You live close to one of the data centres then. Its quality is entirely dependant on that factor, which is why it is completely unusable for a lot of people that live far away from the major cities.
also idk why it’s only 1080p
PS Remote Play is also only 1080p. I don’t think anything except maybe GeForce does 4k.
No it's not lol
Yeah, it is. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/SX365201
My apologies, you are right. I could have sworn it was higher, but alas, I was wrong. Here's an upvote.
You may need to update your controller's firmware
