The way my tracking goofs sometimes…
USAF officials report a new object was detected in low earth orbit today. preliminary imaging suggests it may be a person wearing a VR headset and home-built force-feedback rig.
Amazing on paper not irl.
People keep thinking 1:1 is cool. It really isn’t. In real life humans run slow, jump low, prone to falling, and sluggishly get up.
In your head you’re a super hero Jedi. But in reality you’re like that fat kid with a broomstick meme.
I was once playing Skyrim VR and felt that the default walking speed was too slow. To test this, I decided to compare against my actual walking speed across my playspace. I was quickly humbled when I realized the default "slow" walking speed was closer to the speed of a full sprint on my own two feet.
idk man I'm only mildly athletic and I can do all those things. To me it's actually almost identical to playing indoor combat archery or maybe paintball. Dodging, taking cover, running in small bursts, picking stuff off the floor, big goofy goggles etc Also at least in VR you don't need all that protective gear and you can have the AC on to mitigate some of the sweating lol
I sometimes play video games for 3-4hrs a day maybe more on the weekend if i get the opportunity.
In that amount of time my VR avatar is constantly running, jumping, climbing, etc. More activity than a pro-athlete. Longer sessions than any major sports match, with no breaks, substitutions or time-outs.
I see it the other way. if kat walk treadmills get a little bit more realistic then I could see myself dumping my morning run and playing blade and sourcery for 30 minutes instead.
I love 1:1 stuff when it comes to arena combat style stuff but I also largely use VR to replace outdoor exercise during bitter cold winter months. It's great for things like Holopoint.
I hate the 1:1 folks. they're no gamers, just fitness nutjobs thinking about their next sweat routine...
I want games to make me feel powerful, not to work out to super hero levels for real...
1:1 is no fun. simple wonky physics sim is no fun. good games are about knowing where to break free from such rules
for quest 2 and 3, the max size guardian you can set is 10M. but if you have a much bigger, empty space, you could just disable the guardian and walk freely untill you hit a wall
After a day of playing inside we took it outside, the quest now lives best our back porch and everyone goes and plays in the grass.
Aside from weather issues, is there any concern playing outside?
Damn didn‘t knew they had a max size that‘s kind of stupid like I could see myself getting too comfortable in a really big space and running full speed into a wall
I think the Nomad updates always came later. The game itself came out later. PC was always the first to get updates (someone correct me if I'm wrong here).
I remember at the start of Crystal Hunt it gave me a warning if I ever feel nauseous. “Na, I’m fine”. Boy was I not ready when I first grabbed Hector’s arm
It took them a lot of hard work to get even the base B&S: Nomad to run decently on Q2 because it's a demanding game.
They have an easier time developing on PCVR because they are not restricted by hardware as much, so the update arrived on PCVR first.
Do you want to play a broken unoptimized mess with constant crashes instead?
I played Nomad on Quest 2 and had to return it. It just didn't run well enough for me. The stutter and sub-60hz was always there.
Perhaps Quest 3 runs this way better though. But like you said, you can tell it's a demanding game for the Q2 with all the persistent physics going on.
I didn't notice anything obvious while playing on Quest 3, besides noticably reduced graphics coming from the PCVR version. Which is completely expected for a mobile headset and I'm still impressed they got it to run.
It's weird. I've never actually ever had motion sickness throughout the entirety of when I started playing VR. One of the first game I've ever played was echo VR which, for those who don't know, has you in zero gravity where up can be down and down can be up. Maybe that game primed me for future games with heavy movement.
And then there's my girlfriend, who can't even play population one because the flying mechanic gets her motion sick.
I like how you worded your reply because I'm like the exact opposite. I can't really understand how people continuously get motion sick, even after playing for a couple weeks. It's intriguing
You know, that almost looks AAA quality. I can see future games (imagine another Horizon VR game) with these kind of boss battles, but with even bigger enemies or creatures to climb.
I just had the most anime moment fighting that thing. I had one crystal near the top of his back but had dropped all my weapons while fighting it(knocked my swords out of my hands while swinging).
The only weapon I had on hand was that tiny t0 knife. I charge the golem, it swings it's arms and I engage slowmo. As the arm comes towards me I start to jump over it but latch on, preparing to climb. It has other plans and tries to shake me off, which launches me like 40 ft into the air above it. I more or less gave out a battle cry and landed with a plunging stab nailing the crystal, defeating it.
I sinked 3 hours straight today, despite 28°C heat outside as well as in my room. On top of all the things WarpFrog added in this update, they gave so strong indentity to this game, something that was really missing to hook people on vanilla version. Like the animations of Hector, the gates, the lights, the magic, this is all totally awesome!
This was clearly inspired by Dragons Dogma. Climbing up giant monsters is such a great thing to do in VR, and I'm wondering why nobody did something like this until now. I can't think of any other game with similar mechanics.
I thought it was cool but was really disappointed by the scale. It's only like twice or three times as big as a person, really not all that impressive. Was hoping it'd be like at LEAST three times as big. It's piss easy to fight.
its not?
pretty much only the physics and graphics are worse, but its still basically the same, theres a mod that allows for full physics instead of the low setting ones, on quest 3 it runs well with it
Yeah agreed. I have a Quest 2, Reverb G2 and Quest 3. Quest 3 is holding me over until I can get a Pimax Crystal Light, which it will mainly do standalone after.
I love VR and want to have the best of both worlds. Quest does have some really polished exclusives.
Watch a go pro video strapped to someone’s head and you’ll feel the same way.. but if you yourself experienced that same thing with a go pro on your head… your experience is NOT nauseating
Nonsense- quest is one of if not cumulatively the largest user base for PCVR. Quest does not equal standalone, that’s just one of the features and marketplaces.
This would be amazing if you had a same size irl space
I'm imagining somehow you jump for real and climb an invisible golem in the real world. "Wow, that's IMMERSIVE."
That sounds amazing, right up until the tracking messes up and the invisible golem yeets me 100ft!
Headline: "Unexplainable! Man wearing VR goggles seen launching across a football field by ghost"

Well, at least Star Wars kid had pants on.

which is precisely why VR will never catch on.
I see it the other way. if kat walk treadmills get a little bit more realistic then I could see myself dumping my morning run and playing blade and sourcery for 30 minutes instead.

What’s the max space for VR? Like, could you theoretically rent an indoor football field and just go at it?
for quest 2 and 3, the max size guardian you can set is 10M. but if you have a much bigger, empty space, you could just disable the guardian and walk freely untill you hit a wall
After a day of playing inside we took it outside, the quest now lives best our back porch and everyone goes and plays in the grass. Aside from weather issues, is there any concern playing outside?
cool! just be careful with sunlight, if it directly hits the lenses, they're gone.
Damn didn‘t knew they had a max size that‘s kind of stupid like I could see myself getting too comfortable in a really big space and running full speed into a wall
This makes me hope for a VR Shadow of the colosus remake.
Behemoth VR, look it up
Can't wait for this game!
Oh man, I would bust a nut so big it would cost me my security deposit.
Lmao... Gross.
BEHEMOTH, SO PUMPED FOR IT!
Came here to come here.
Came here. Sorry for the mess.
What game is this or do we need to guess?
Blade and sorcery, this boss is only in steams version for now
At a glance it seems like a sandboxy game, or is there an actual single-player story mode?
It was a sandbox but this is from the new update that adds a campaign mode, only on the PC version for now Quest version coming soon.
It's Blade and Sorcery, I recommend the steam version
Asking the real questions
Yeah I need to know!!???!
This is from blade and sorcery but this update will not be coming to meta quest until later this year.
They think they can treat us like second class citizens! We shall rise up!
Good story grandma, now let's get you to bed
I'm not tired yet
Shh.. its time to change your bag.
I didn't poo poo
this thread entertained me.
Wait why is this downvoted?
The man trying to keep us down!
Because entitlement (I don't know if it's supposed to be ironic)
People on the internet tend to not have a sense of sarcasm. (To be fair, the fact that everything is in text does make it harder)
Tell me when this is coming to nomad and I’ll buy in!
I have nomad and I’m dying for this lol
Game name?
Blade & Sorcery, but currently this particular update is not available on the quest yet. PCVR only for now.
I was gonna say… those shadows are awesome, but I wonder if the standalone can swing them.
They fucking snubbed us
It took them a lot of hard work to get even the base B&S: Nomad to run decently on Q2 because it's a demanding game. Its only for people with strong VR legs.
Why can't they make GTX 3070 graphics work on the Android phone strapped to my face 😩
Ya wtf right?!
They want the game to work?
Shut up your mouth!
^ Mods, why is there a 4 year old in this thread? Go back to Among Us
I will fight you
Looks like Blade&Sorcery
Super cool
Such a clever idea of how to get in close to take down a much larger enemy. What's the name of the game?
Blade & Sorcery but what you're seeing is the PC update. The update for Quest version should be later in the year.
Wow, I hope Blade & Sorcery comes to PSVR2 — this looks outstanding! 👍👍👍
It looks just cool enough to make me crave an HD Shadow of the Colossus in VR
This!!!
Already getting sick from just watching this, maybe one day I'll get over the VR sickniss
Man, I've been living in this game all day today. Absolutely amazing experience!!
That's so cool. It reminds me of those stone monsters, stone talos I think? From BoTW. Can't wait to try it out!
This is making me more hyped for Behemoth, also you’re making me wanting to redownload B&S now This is kickass!
Just remember this update is not out yet for the Nomad version.
This works surprisingly well! Behemoth VR is gonna be fucking insane
Looks amazing but I don’t understand how this doesn’t make you feel sick
It's weird. I've never actually ever had motion sickness throughout the entirety of when I started playing VR. One of the first game I've ever played was echo VR which, for those who don't know, has you in zero gravity where up can be down and down can be up. is there usually a benefit to moving hands as if you were running, or are people just doing it for no reason? i find it weird
Some games do, this one makes you run faster while doing it but to be honest I do it all the time for immersion, for me its weird you don't
Its quite clever, in this game you have to pump your hands to sprint. This stops you from sword fighting running around like crazy.
Game name and can I get it on quest 2
This'll play fine on a Q2 if you're connected via Steam Link.
Blade and sorcery and not yet. But the update should be coming to quest sometime soon.
"soon" meaning a few months
Bro emoted at the end
RULES OF NATURE!
Can't wait for it to come to quest
That looks cool but I'm so glad I've never had problems with motion sickness
game?
As a nomad player I want to steal a pc and 30$ steam gift card
I wish this shit dodnt make me wanna hurl. I need 1:1 movement.
Just practice it bro everyone had too
Running fantastic on My Quest 2 using Virtual Desktop!
Is that part of the campaign or just a mod?
Campaign new 1.0 update
You know, that almost looks AAA quality. I can see future games (imagine another Horizon VR game) with these kind of boss battles, but with even bigger enemies or creatures to climb.
You can ragdoll in B&S? How do do that or is it a thing you have to toggle?
This is what I was hoping behemoth would be like but I doubt it will be
The Dogma of Dragons in vr finally
Wat game is this?
Which game is this?
pO9ld3fxse O
N
Is this Quest footage? Looks very good.
I just had the most anime moment fighting that thing. I had one crystal near the top of his back but had dropped all my weapons while fighting it(knocked my swords out of my hands while swinging). Nice of u to name the game in the post 🤦🏾♂️
Wow We have GOD OF WAR in VR lol Very nice!
To be honest, if I were to play this, I would fall in reality...
This looks awesome. Unfortunately it will be a while before I can play the new update, since I broke my leg last week.
Name of game ???
I would fight golem's 100% of the time it i can spawn them in an not have to do that mini dungeon run
Nice moves!
I thought this was an ad for a solid minute
What's the name of that game?
What's this game?
Blade and sorcery
This was clearly inspired by Dragons Dogma. Climbing up giant monsters is such a great thing to do in VR, and I'm wondering why nobody did something like this until now. I can't think of any other game with similar mechanics.
Is this Asgards Wrath?
I felt like you broke your leg when you fell down lol
I thought it was cool but was really disappointed by the scale. It's only like twice or three times as big as a person, really not all that impressive. Was hoping it'd be like at LEAST three times as big. It's piss easy to fight.
Yeah you are right, but you can take your time and make it more cinematic to have an epic fight
Looks super cool but being swinged around like that makes me sick just watching 😅
It’s not going to be like this on stand alone..
Sure, the graphics will be downgraded. However there's no reason to think that the gameplay itself will not be equivalent.
Have you played it on stand alone? It’s abysmal.
its not? pretty much only the physics and graphics are worse, but its still basically the same, theres a mod that allows for full physics instead of the low setting ones, on quest 3 it runs well with it
Oh, no I haven't. I didn't know this. 🤨
It’s not dude is being dumb. Same gameplay different graphics.
Standalone arguably superior gameplay (not visuals) to PCVR due to lack of cable/streaming lag
Motion sickness is a pita. Nauseous just watching this clip, guess that makes playing it a nogo (kiddo has it lol)
Watch a go pro video strapped to someone’s head and you’ll feel the same way.. but if you yourself experienced that same thing with a go pro on your head… your experience is NOT nauseating
Doesn't really belong on the Quest sub, whatever comes to Quest (rather than PCVR) won't be this year, and it won't be like this.
Nonsense- quest is one of if not cumulatively the largest user base for PCVR. Quest does not equal standalone, that’s just one of the features and marketplaces.
Im all for gatekeeping but lets not be gatekeepers 🤣🤣🤣
The majority of PCVR gamers are on quest buddy
"won't be this year, and it won't be like this." Please do not spread misinformation that is not what the devs have said.
Not as amazing SLR + FL though
