They just pulled a Leeeeeeeerrrrrrrooooooooyyyyy Jeeeeeennnnnnkkkkkiiiiiinnnnnsss!!! Edit: on the second watch I actually caught that they said that. Hilarious.

AnalysisMoney

Hahaha as soon as someone said “no don’t go in there!” I totally said it myself 😂

MrAKUSA907

Same. Lol! Forever an iconic piece of MMO history.

battlebudy

What game is this?

MrAKUSA907

Zenith

battlebudy

Thanks 😊

videogamessuckbutt

It looks like SAO

RazzleberryHaze

Pretty much is, but without the "turn your brain into mashed potatoes" variable

SnooPeanuts2251

I really fucking hope that this game wont get abandoned. It reminds me so much of Spiral Knights, art and design wise, and I got such a huge nostalgia hit when I first came in the game Please dont let this flame run out!

Tsureshon

I'm worried that the lack of server fees will be the downfall unless they sell DLC packs on a regular basis. To keep developing a game you need regular cash influx.....

Nicholasjh

Yeah I wonder about their model too because eventually server fees will mess them up unless they have some model to make extra.

Tsureshon

And we don't want a "pay to win" model.... No gear no stats no levels... Even cosmetics can dig into shit if they are too good compared to what you get doing dungeons.

derpyco

They plan on turing it into a live service title once the game is finished

Zentrii

I think this happens to almost every vr game, at least paid ones. There was this cool team based fps game I can't remember the name (not solarus) where you played a robot with cool sliding mechanics and someone on reddit asked if there was a game like that which i thought was really odd because it had tons of 5 star reviews and was hyped up to he the definitive fps shooter when it came out last year and other games just wasn't as good when it came to polish. Zenith is just the first of many Vr mmos that will come out and people will jump to the next shiny new vr game. I doubt vr mmos will ever be as complex and engaging as PC/console (ff14) mmos to keep people sticking to one game, at least any time soon.

en1gmatic51

Hyperdash?

Zentrii

That’s the one! Great game but I’m horrible at fps games

WardenPlays

There still is a decent sized player base. Me and my friend played it at 1am and there were still full lobbies

ChronoHax

Yooo spiral Knights is one of my childhood game

wcoulliette

I'm loving Zenith. Teaming up with a large group of people and doing world events is super fun. I haven't made it to a dungeon yet but I've heard that people are doing this and it sounds fun.

Madmax_angry_gamer

[dance off on zenith!!](https://youtube.com/shorts/-Hs2ug7oKJM?feature=share)

Vegavild

How does monster kill and loot work? Is it for everyone or just for the one that tagged?

Adfre12yu

Anyone who has tagged the monster has a chance of getting drops but they’re set up so that other people can’t see your loot and you cant see theirs. This way theres no chance of anyone stealing your drops.

dj_swizzle

Instanced loot. If you hit the monster once, you get the XP for the kill. I will say, I did exactly this with a different group, and the XP from the boss wasn't great. The XP seems to be best when completing quests.

SchizoidWarrior

Yep, and there are couple repeatable quests in each area

lefnire

Dear VR enthusiasts. This video marks a turning point. Do you know what Zenith is? EverQuest. Ultima Online. Look at this game: it's ugly, it's unremarkable. And this video with all the upvotes shows how much fun everyone is having. The Kickstarter was a wild success. The Discord is an unmanageable firehose. Ramen just got wildly rich. This will be noticed by big companies, possibly more than Alyx got noticed. Or Beatsaber. If you think I'm blowing steam, please save this comment and insult me in 8 months. Because my statement is this: Zenith officially marks the point at which companies start taking VR seriously. And what that means is: we're moments away from VR's WoW. Bravo, Ramen. You just touched VR history. As _Ready Player One_ loves Joust, like digital museum, someone in the future will love Zenith. Alyx was HL:1&2. Township was Minecraft. Zenith was all the MMOs pre WoW. And now's the tipping point. Edit: lol at the remindme's, brutal! Ok to give that something concrete then, my prediction for 8 months is some announcement, leak, or credible rumor of a AAA VRMMO. I actually think it will *be* WoW; but if not, along that scale. And edit to EQ/UO comparison: more like RuneScape

abraxsis

The WoW for VR ... will be WoW in VR. People complaining in this thread about paying 30 euros for this game ONE TIME. WoW has people who have been paying 15.00/month for almost 2 DECADES. In total I played 3.5 years back at the beginning and I started again in Oct. 2019, that's 870.00 to date. That doesn't even include the expansions and original game purchases. We are no where near that level of fandom with any VR that I have seen or played thus far.

[deleted]

TheSpanxxx

If they can make a reasonable port to consoles , and then leap to VR with that IP, Microsoft will once again print money. Everyone thought it insane when Microsoft bought Minecraft for a billion dollars, but that IP hasn't slowed a bit. It's like WoW. It'll have generational value.

holydragonnall

You couldn’t pay me to play WoW at this point. FFXIV does everything WoW does, better, and it isn’t tainted by Activision either.

TimmyIo

I'll go a step further, you couldn't pay me to play another MMO. That being said, I wanna play this game... How weird is that? It's possible I only want to try it out to play an MMO on VR it just sounds really cool

abraxsis

Possibly. I hope, instead, they continue on the same path and revitalize the game. There is still LOTS that can be done to rekindle the game like it was in the old days.

Demokrates

I don't know if I want to playba 10 hour wow VR session physically slashing enemies... I'll be tired after 25 minutes... It's neat, yes, but I think the convenience of just pressing buttons to do different attacks outweighs the novelty of physical attacks.

lefnire

> The WoW for VR ... will be WoW in VR In the literal sense. I actually think WoW will come to VR (a new IP, not port), and on that day VR is no longer "not quite there" I keep hearing. I'm not saying Zenith is WoW, but rather the harbinger. In the way PC MMOs started popping off just before WoW release. Edit: why I think WoW new IP. No rumors or anything, just spidy senses. MS bought blizzard, new life new money. Blizzard had a history in it's prime of swooping with bomb shells. And just porting WoW feels cheap (and incompatible with VR) - it's just so dated. When I saw MS buy Blizzard, my first thought was: he has returned. Whatever that VRMMO is, they should definitely charge monthly. I was surprised Zenith charged flat fee, there's a sustainability cost with servers. I actually think it might bite them in the butt.

Maskatron

Yeah WoW has a huge customer base of current and past players, it has existing lore, world(s), classes, races, and mechanics. Of course building some form of that in VR is a huge undertaking, especially given the restrictions of current tech (it would have to work on the Quest 2 or whatever the next gen reasonably priced goggles are), but they've got a big head start over everyone if they were to move in that direction. The only cause for doubt it is that they already have a golden goose in pancake WoW. It's going to take a while for VR games to prove anywhere near as profitable as that. Still I'm hopeful that I'll be experiencing Azeroth in VR in the near future.

lefnire

God I'd play the hell out of it. Walking down memory lane

[deleted]

>Do you know what Zenith is? EverQuest. Ultima Online. Not even close. Yeah, I'm sure it's fun. And it definitely has the ugliness in common (Man do I miss UO ugliness.) But those games had depth. This one, although admittedly brand new, is very shallow. Only one race and two classes to choose from, right? How many phases did this boss fight have? It looks fun. But the UO/EQ comparison is lost on me.

ChronoHax

Well tbf, this is not even boss fight, just early level group hunt quest.

lefnire

I agree it's not an apt comparison on depth/scale. My analogy is more about sequence - the timing of Zenith, it's role in VR history relative to PC history. What it portends for near future developments.

SonOfAdam32

Tbf there’s 3 subclasses for both classes that comes with different skills. For example support mage has heals, tank mage have ‘god hands’ to block attacks, blade master tank has damage to heal and shield mechanics. It is shallow though with no races and shit, but the class thing does feel a tad more nuanced and there will be a third class soon making it up to 9 different playstyles

perrerra

I think they meant that this was a tipping point leading to mass adoption of an MMO in VR. In UO remember being so excited that there were thousands of other people on the same shard as me (even though I spent most of my time solo mining, crafting coloured plate armour or hanging around with the same 3 friends). I really do hope this catches on rather than dying out due to lack of users within a few months

[deleted]

I think it’s really too early to say that. Think the foundation of the game is good and something to build from, but it’s fairly barebones even for a new MMO. If this game got more attention, I think there’d be a bigger kerfuffle about the game releasing as an early access title with no indication of that on either the PSN or Oculus store. Though I believe the dev team has stated recently there’s no option to do that on either platform. Still, would that not be the very definition of false advertising? Do think that what Zenith says is that there is room in VR for a MMO and a desire for large scale games.

looniedreadful

RemindMe! 7.9 months

WardenPlays

I don't think this is where "VR Begins." I keep hearing this about every major VR title. Alyx was supposed to be that. Echo Arena was supposed to be that. This isn't a cynical stance though. VR has already taken off. We're past the 2% adoption rate; now that we're past that after half a decade of slow adoption and development we're going to see exponential growth. Within the next 5 years we're going to see VR/AR change the landscape of everyday life. I don't think we are going to see a WoW VR, even from Microsoft. All of the Devs that made WoW what it is are already gone, the ones who are making expansions now were not the ones who created the source code. Any new, exciting AAA VRMMO project will be made by another studio, potentially a studio working on its own hardware. The Metas, Amazon (highly unlikely considering New World's death) Valve. It's likely in development now. But the VRMMO won't drive hardware. It won't be the killer app. Productivity is going to be what pushes VR growth. As more companies figure out how to work AR into the flow of everyday life that's when we'll see the explosive growth. It will require very cheap hardware, not much more advanced than the Aria glasses, but enough for a rudimentary HUD and ability to link up with an external device for better computing power.

Pirate058

It's just a video game.

itsmethebman

No it's not! It's the dawning of a new age!!

lefnire

Lmao! Fair enough, I was tad dramatic

RWGlix

I don't think you are necessarily wrong, but in this industry I would say there is probably a better chance of a bigger pub viewing this as a successful proof of concept and hiring a known team to make a similar game/experience with a bigger budget, rather than Ramen ascending to stardom.

Suspicious-mole-hair

I see the point you're trying to make, and I'm thoroughly excited and will be getting zenith just as soon as life allows. But township was *not* minecraft. Township was just disappointment.

lefnire

Ohhh, now we have beef - them's fighting words 🥊. Jk, to each their own - but man I adored Township. They did just raise an additional $12M, so they ain't chopped liver.

ChulaK

Lol at all the reactions to this. Articles saying *"VR is dead!* and the community goes full rage mode. Then comments like this where it has optimism for VR, the community puts the OP down. Y'all are a joke lmao.

[deleted]

Whenever a VR game is successful and it’s from an independent company, Facebook buys them. They bought the devs of Beat Saber, Population One, and Onward. I speculate that they never bought VRchat because Facebook wants standard avatars. I also speculate that they never bought Rec Room because they decided they could do what that game does but “better.” Zenith on the other hand? If it becomes successful then I could see Facebook buying it. If they bought the developers of a military shooter (Onward) then I think it’s perfectly possible for them to buy an anime-style MMO. I think it just depends on whether the game will be successful or not a year from now. Like if it ends up growing over time and becomes a reason to buy the Quest, I could see Facebook buying it. MMOs aren’t very profitable compared to the standard microtransactions in more modern genres but with the increased immersion and social presence of VR it might be possible for that genre to be revived in VR. Also keep in mind that even if Zenith ends up as a success Facebook could very well just not buy it and instead pour an obscene amount of money into their own “better” MMO. Facebook is like that where if Zenith succeeds they’ll hire analysts to see what made it succeed and then base their own MMO entirely on those elements to basically make Evercrack 2.0. VR revived the chat-room genre and in fact made it more popular then it ever was (VRchat.) As a VRchat fan I can say that until VRchat I hadn’t actually played a chat room game because they were so obscure back then, but now VRchat’s success started an entire subgenre. Will VR revive MMOs?

lefnire

> VR revived the chat-room genre I never thought of it like that, good eye. It's fun to see our digital childhood being replayed in a new medium. It's like VR is PC's son, and the apple doesn't fall far during it's life story. If VRChat is AIM, maybe Beatsaber is Winamp! > Will VR revive MMOs? Yessss, precious

Township was minecraft? Lololol Other than that, probably you might be right. But developing games takes a long time. So probably longer than 8 months

Oh no doubt on release timeframe, I'm more thinking within 8 months we might have rumors that a big company has begun. A leak about a WoW port underway or such

melgibson666

Is this a copypasta or just insane ramblings?

lefnire

B

melgibson666

Do I have your permission to turn this into a copypasta?

Zaptruder

> we're moments away from VR's WoW As soon as I completed my first quest... I remarked to myself: "I like this. Reminds me of WoW back in the day." It definetly has that classic MMO feeling, but in VR.

Nitshft

Dude I love zenith for this

Insaniaksin

Is Zenith the type of game where you are on your feet moving around or stationary/sitting?

Dinosheepz

On your feet is better in my opinion, as you have to swing swords and turn around a lot, but it’s not unplayable if you choose to do seated either

Nitshft

So it’s MUCH easier to play standing up but I was also able to play just fine while sitting just gotta be aware to glide you have to spread your arms so you need space if your sitting

SuaveDonut

The only thing that gets me about this game is that it looks like some sort of heavily modded VR chat room

Undeity

It really does, doesn't it? The jankiness of it all bothers me so much. Though, I'm still tempted to get it, just to experience what might be gaming history in the making.

SuaveDonut

I'm holding out for ilysia...more my cup of tea..but I have been very curious to try zenith

conductRextraordNR

Looks like a fun time was had. That’s all that counts!

AntonVPower

Fair enough! Enjoyment to all

immatrashpiece

but why’s he downvoted

AntonVPower

Thank you. I was wondering the same. Ive been respectful and even supportive of people enjoying thame game. Why the hate?

Sleepy_Man90

Is Zenith f2p? I got an email from Oculus about it the other day and it looks really good! I haven't had a chance to look at the store yet, but I'd love to pick the quest back up, I very rarely play it these days.

Coaster20012001

€30 or equivalent. 40 is max lvl, 2 main classes. 3 subclasses for each. You can climb everything in game and fly/glide, have abilities. Open world chat that can be muted if you choose. Still in development. Lots more improvements to come.

Sleepy_Man90

Ooh that sounds awesome! I need to try it.

Coaster20012001

Ive put about 6 hours in so far just hit lvl 12. When you pick a shard (server) to create a character on you are only locked to that shard for 24 hrs. After that you can pick a different one and your character will move. Everyone i have chatted with so far has been super helpful.

estrafire

Are the servers US only? How is the game latency wise?

Coaster20012001

No latency for me at all that has been noticeable. There are US servers but not exclusive to US. Anyone can join them regardless of location. I just pick my closest server geographically.

catalystkjoe

My friend and I accidentally walked in there as level 3 with almost no knowledge of the game. Still had a lot of fun with the people in there

wordyplayer

Fun! You just sold another copy of zenith

Kamyroon

Can I dm you my referral? Free items for both of us :)

wordyplayer

I already bought it

Kamyroon

Referral is done via the official discord I'll dm you.

AntonVPower

Hate to say it...but the game kinda looks lame. It has a very kiddy sort of feel to me

samskuantch

I was also initially turned off by the art & style and thought it looked pretty generic. But I tried it anyways because my husband really wanted to play together and I'm always down to play any sort of game with him if it makes him happy. And oh boy was my first impression wrong. I think the game is super fun! The tutorial is a snooze fest but once you get past that and start playing (especially if you have someone else you can play with) it's actually amazing. We've been playing on and off today together and I'm looking forward to whenever we play next!

MarkedLegion

Play it and you’ll say different I promise you. I thought the same but I just said it screw it I’ll buy it and it’s actually really fun. The art style is not as cartoony as township tale and it’s also not like blade and sorcery but it has its own unique taste.

AntonVPower

I was never a huge fan of WOW and grinding but ill be keeping a eye on what people are saying and how the devs treat the game and community. We'll see

Unix33

This game focuses on socializing and exploring rather than grind since it is a small dev team, they can’t really focus on hardcore grinding and WoW-like experiences. From what I can tell you, the game does not feel grindy at all and it lets you take your time. There is no obligation to complete activities at a faster pace as there is no hardcore endgame stuff to chase so most people are just enjoying it for what it is.

Madmax_angry_gamer

For now

Madmax_angry_gamer

This game is worth every penny

paakjis

That is not worth 30€. Refunded already.

saumanahaii

There's still a lot of rough edges, and it's clear that it's still pretty much an early access title, but it's quite fun for what it is. I wish the godstones weren't emphasized to such an extent over the gunplay. I was hoping for basically an open world vr exploration shooter, and to a degree I've been able to experience that. But the guns really only doing small shots or charge shots kinda disappoints me. I'm pretty sure the damage also decreases with distance, meaning tricky sniping is punished. That's kinda a requirement since the AI is pretty awful and only has a few attack patterns, while you have a ton of traversal options. It's still disappointing though that it's so focused on being a power based MMO in the vein of WoW. All that said, I'm loving the game. It's far from perfect but it's a lot of fun to tool around in.

chillbillytaylor

It looks like shit.

AntonVPower

Lol 😆 That was my impression. I am warming up some with all the glowing posts here. But I'm going to wait to see of the devs keep it updated and the community stays hard on it

chillbillytaylor

They aren't going to do anything. There was a post saying it was PCVR compatible. That just proves they had every opportunity to make it not look like shit, they just didn't care.

dj_swizzle

If you're only interested in a game because the way it looks, then yeah, this isn't going to do it for you. If you can look past the "bad" graphics and enjoy a game for the fun that it offers while running on a glorified phone, then Zenith offers a lot for the price tag. As far as developing for PCVR, they're a small team. The quest is it right now, we all know that. Pop One looks the same on PC as it does on Quest. They develop for the lowest common denominator. It's business.

chillbillytaylor

Why can't it be both is my question and I'm not sure I want to play based on how toxic the community has been anyways over opinions.

dj_swizzle

I'm no developer, but it's got to be a lot more work developing for both. Haven't run into a single toxic player yet, everyone's very inviting.

chillbillytaylor

I'm not referring referring the playerbase in the game, I'm talking about the dickheads who are screaming at me for having a different opinion across social media sites. It really doesn't take that much. Skyrim VR modded works fantastic. Add a multiplayer mod and boom.

AntonVPower

We'll see. Im willing to bet most PC players will avoid it because there is plenty of other good options. But native Quest users don't have those options and many will settle with the game because rpgs and mmos are nonexistent which will likely drive the devs to focus their attention on Quest optimization and updates. If they are smart and like money, that is.

hypothetician

> PC players will avoid it because there is plenty of other good options Are there a lot of other VR MMOs?

AntonVPower

Not that I no of. But most pc players gravitate toward flat screen mmos from what I've seen and experienced. Not to mention PC players have gpu power and generally want to use it. Zenith is sub par graphically for pcvr and I don't believe pc players will put up with it with so many I ther high quality games on vr and flat-screen. I may be wrong, but thats been mine and my friend groups position.

HillanatorOfState

[Spoke to a dev](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZenithMMO/comments/sfjxsg/zenith_seems_blurry/hutk60m), yeah it's a blurry game on PC, he did mention adding higher res textures though to me, it's still in beta apparently. They probably spent a lot of time getting it functional for Quest, I'm betting we will see more on the PC front this year, more so now since it's a top seller on steam atm.

Madmax_angry_gamer

Complete wrong impression I thought the same, but then I saw this [dance off](https://youtube.com/shorts/-Hs2ug7oKJM?feature=share)

therealpeterden

Have you tried it?

AntonVPower

No because it didn't interest me for the reason you replied to.

Murderbunny13

I played it for the first time last night and was extremely impressed. I usually get motion sickness and was super hesitant to play. I actually turned the comfort controls off and the walking movements are perfect. I don't play a lot of these types of games (usually pistol whip, beat saber and a little VRChat) so I have zero idea what I'm doing but it's fun. I like the controls. I like the graphics. People seem pretty nice for the most part.

Eldafint

Yo I was roped into the same exact thing yesterday. Logged on and was immediately forced to go kill snakes, and now I'm in a guild dedicated to it lmao

GalaxyMaster88

Somehow I did it with 3

NoWord6

I know I'm not the only one that senses the future of vr gameing gets better every year...honestly if they plan on adding content(classes, player shops with crafted materials, more life skilling)....really I would love to see a vr equivalent to black desert online in a vr form....not all the over the top action, but the concept of haveing pve/pvp and life skilling balanced in the gameplay.

Jimbowool

History repeats itself

Not_Luke22

Apes together strong

samskuantch

I just did this same boss an hour ago, though with a lot less people! Zenith is hands down my new favorite VR game. And definitely my favorite MMO since WoW. I love that everyone I've come across seems so nice and always down to chat, help, and answer questions! I feel like this game has so much potential. It reminds me of when I first started playing WoW - there are a lot of fun hidden things for players to explore and discover which makes it fun.

SamsonShibaInu

I fought the boss with about 12 people

tumblr-incarnation

what shard was it?

SvenViking

I can understand the people on tiptoes are presumably due to incorrect height calibration, but one guy at the end of the video seems to have his torso on backwards?

Adfre12yu

Yeah the game still needs quite a bit of polish its still a ton of fun overall

SvenViking

Yeah no problem, just an interesting glitch.

tumblr-incarnation

lmao i love doing this, i started talking with random people and eventually about 20 of us accumulated and we went through the dungeon, the boss wiped most of us tho lmao. (this was on kitsune west 2 NA)

da_david_himself

If you want something similar but more old style era Then try ORBUS VR REBORN Don’t try runemage if you don’t have one to show you around or aren’t willing to grind But it’s just super duper fun

[deleted]

Orbus has its fans but it’s not talked about by the general VR community because it isn’t intended to be a massive game or anything. Zenith however seems to be attempting to become a VR classic. If Zenith succeeds we could eventually start seeing more VR MMOs and see an entire genre be revitalized for VR, like how VRchat brought back chat rooms. Those are some BIG implications if the game succeeds. Maybe Meta themselves could fund a VR MMO in the future if the genre takes off

da_david_himself

Well orbus is supposed to be an MMORPG And I do think it could benefit from a bigger fanbase

NoWord6

I like orbus, but it still feels off on execution....like the tutorials and everything are not really a help at all when starting out, and being I prefer text chat to voice, I don't want to ask half a dozen people how to play this game lol I like mmos where you only have to talk to the people you want to talk to...not a forced social experiment lol...just my preference...glad tho that people are having fun and communicating though

PhiladelphiaRollins

A Meta sponsored cyberpunk MMO where Meta is the main villain, I could get down with that

Kamyroon

I had fun in this "dungeon" but when I asked I the discord it's the only one? Have any of you seen more? The naga/ixxil boss thing drops blue items pretty commonly, so I was hoping for a mob like that in each zone to farm

crappy_pirate

have you seen [the steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1403370/Zenith_The_Last_City/)? do you see the words "**EARLY ACCESS GAME**" written above the title in a larger font than the title is written in? what do you think that means? that the game is fully developed and not going to get any more additional content or something?

Kamyroon

I asked if there were others, so that I could know and go find them. Maybe sit down for a second. Calm yourself. Wtf?

crappy_pirate

you ... went to the discord for a game and asked them to tell you the names of competing titles?

Kamyroon

You are dense. Other dungeons. To find and play with people, in the game I enjoy.

crappy_pirate

so what you're saying is that ... you went into the official discord for a new game that's just been released ... and asked them for the names of competing titles? really? and you rekon someone asking *you* about that is rude? lmao really?

Kamyroon

No, I went to the discord and said I enjoyed the dungeons and are there others in zenith? You are really really dense and angry. You can't even read what I'm saying.

crappy_pirate

so what you're saying is that you never bothered to pay attention to the fact that "**EARLY ACCESS GAME**" is written above the title, in a larger font than the title, on all store pages for the game?

Boop90

Is this how all dungeons are? it looks terrible if they are, orbus > zenith

Adfre12yu

Its not *really* a dungeon or boss, just a group quest for now. Devs said they would add dungeons later as they didnt think the ones they had were up to their standards.

ShaneyD1512

What shard was this?

beaterx

Thinking about getting this game. how are the classes? I'd normally pick melee classes, but that looks like a clusterfuck in this game. How is the ranged support class? are healers needed?

Adfre12yu

Both the classes are really fun. With melee, you have to time your attacks and block enemy attacks so you cant just spam your swords while with ranged, you have limited ammo so while your shooters recharge, you’ll have to dodge or use spells. Healers arent necessarily needed but if youre a solo DPS player, they can help in some places. I find ranged more fun and dynamic since you have to switch between spells and shooters but both the classes are very fun. The game overall is amazing, the gameplay and community are great. Could definitely use some polish but the devs are continuously updating the game and they have many updates planned so I think its a solid purchase.

Kamyroon

Should clarify: all six classes are fun

Kioen

There are currently 2 classes available(Blade Master and Essence Mage), w/ a 3rd unannounced class coming "soon". All classes have 3 subclasses(DPS, Support, Tank), which you can pick at character creation but also change in-game. However, each subclass levels independently. The melee class can actively block attacks with their swords, if you play it as a support blade master, I believe you can stab the ground and create a healing area. Most skills are combo based. Like slash sideways 3 times to activate your huge cone AOE move etc. When holding your swords, they will start shining to let you know they will do max damage, so there's more of a rhythm on how you fight. You can't just wobble your arms around to destroy things - you end up dealing less damage. The mage class fights has you kiting mobs around if you can't burst them down w/ your skills fast enough. Your primary weapons are like hand blasters, which you can charge up to deal more damage. They have "ammo" that recharges. You use hand gestures to cast spells. When I first started the game, I thought the melee classes dealt crap damage. But it was just me not actually timing my attacks and activating my skills properly. The mage class is a bit more relaxed because ranged - you only aim - so less of an arm workout. They're SUPER squishy though. Not too sure about how tanky the tank mage is though. Probably has shield spells or something.

Kamyroon

The mage class isn't kiting if you choose tank - its a melee range blood sucking vampire lord. Each subclass is played differently and I advise you try each I think most people have written off all mage subclasses as dps.

Gh0styD0g

Looks bloody awful, like every other mmo

kenstar4

I really need to get back to my oculus. Got one when they first released. Been meaning to play RE4.

[deleted]

I’m sorry I want to buy the hype but I can’t. This looks bad. The player animations are laughable. And there’s zero sense of immersion and realism occurring in here.

therealpeterden

Have you tried the game?

teamharder

>no mage tank Ishygddt

[deleted]

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks this looks pretty bad. Yeah there’s a lot to like, but non npc player animations are horrendous. There’s no economy. No PVP, even segmented. No reason for guilds. The shard system is poor. Only two classes. Bad customization. Only one “job” with cooking. One dungeon. Yes, there’s some good, it’s a nice step up for mmo combat, flying is great, cooking is fun, it’s chill overall. But videos like this don’t sell the game. At all. Honestly, Orbus is leagues beyond this game.

teddybear082

I can't get past this boss yet! We had like 10 people in my raid lol. We need all 99!! :)

gabeSalvatore

Even roblox has some custom gamemodes that look better than this

chillbillytaylor

Not wrong.

gabeSalvatore

Yeah i mean, sure the game might be fun, but visually speaking, the combat, graphics and animations look very bad. The problem might be because they were targeting to run on the quest 2 and MMO's are already notably harder to run because of all the background processing in play to sync every player and npc. But if it was going to look this bad, they should have sticked to PCVR, this looks just like vrchat.

chillbillytaylor

Agreed. It for real looks awful.

_Ship00pi_

Worst game in a while....i guess kids would love this but without polish and depth. This game is the parallel to point and click games on PC.

chillbillytaylor

Holy fuck this looks so terrible You all have seriously lowered your standards a disgusting amount.

ultimateformsora

No way that you think it is possible for a game to look half decent on Quest when it’s literally an MMO with 0 load screens and 99+ people instanced on a server with tons of animations going off at once Just let people enjoy what they want, buzzkill. I’m sure people love you at parties.

bland_meatballs

I'm guessing your mom said "No" when you asked if she could buy this for you?

chillbillytaylor

Keep projecting, you literal child.

derpyco

Almost like VR is emergent technology and is in its infancy or something. It doesn't look any worse than most quest games.

chillbillytaylor

VR has been around for 20 years.

Daedgrog

Beat it alone🥱

damojr

Title of your sex tape.

tyg121

Gottem

Daedgrog

Tf

Ogtiddyclapz

The stamina mechanics in this game make the already bad flying and climbing mechanics even worse to the point where the game is almost not even playable once you get past the first area

ultimateformsora

You have to collect the Tears of Amarra to level up your stamina. Go see the statue east of the entrance of the first level area and she’ll be under the rock/mountain. Just make sure you pick up the quest as well.

OPT-Mr-Trap

Do you need pcvr to play this?

Adfre12yu

Nope

OPT-Mr-Trap

Awesome looks dope

Beno951

No. It's available on Steam, Oculus (rift and quest with crossbuy) and on PSVR

crappy_pirate

no, i just googled it. it's a standalone title on the quest store as well as being available on steam.

Muscles_yay

Where’s the next dungeon?? This was us super early on and I haven’t come across another yet at level 17

Adfre12yu

I believe they said that there was currently only a few dungeons because they didn’t believe that the dungeons they had were good enough.

Insaniaksin

Is there a graphical difference between Quest 2 and Steam versions? Also can you have multiple characters for people with a household that shares the system?

Adfre12yu

Yes you can make as many characters as you like. PCVR has better visuals since it has post processing, better lighting, etc. but not any huge differences. There is crossbuy so if you get the quest version, youll also have the rift version on your pc so you can check out the visual differences yourself.

Armox718

I went to do this dungeon with a group and I literally died like last moment before the boss did the whole group got teleport together and I didn't get credit for the boss and I just turned my game off 🤣

Mr_Monot0ne

I don't play much coop games besides pavlov what is this?

The1Wolverine

Is there a limit to the amount of players that can tag the boss and get xp/loot?

TaylorWWilson93

Same here. I was live streaming and we had maybe 30 people at one point. Lol

LegoBricksAndMemes

What is that first enemy name about tho💀

PhiladelphiaRollins

Keep hearing comments like this in-game, naga have been around in video games for decades (most notably in WoW) and have been in mythology for thousands of years. Didn't start hearing hurr durr n word until this year, oddly

Dub-X

Hopefully someone can answer this for me, I was told one of the first things I would need to do upon logging in is mute all the annoying people, however I have yet to hear a single person use voice chat. I see a ton of people with the microphone signaling they have a mic, but for some reason I am just not hearing anyone.

PhiladelphiaRollins

I'm almost positive the red mic icon means they are muted, and red headphone means sound is off, because I never hear those people speak. If you are not hearing anyone, you probably just need to restart the game, it's a common bug. Fixed for me next time I logged in

mrvrlover

Wish I could buy zenith but I can't save enough for it.

The_Oofington_Man

What game is that

ciwolseyreadonly

The gameplay just doesn't look fun.

Blipnarf-The-Boneles

I Want this game....

Beats_Women

I had this happen yesterday when I was in there trying to solo that boss. I was hanging from the roof out of his attack range and chipping away but probably losing again and 20 people just mobbed in and wrecked it. Sold me on the game right there.

oculus

Omg they just ran in 😆
