Buy a black Speedy on a bracelet then get the white on rubber, swap when needed. Also get the SMP And maybe a divorce lawyer on retainer 😂

Whatever you get you should buy on bracelet and purchase the rubber strap later.

That’s what everyone keeps telling me- even if I don’t intend to wear the bracelet ? Is there a market for it if I were to attempt to sell it never worn ?

Because the bracelet retails for a few hundred more than the rubber but if you were to buy the bracelet later you’re looking at nearly $1k for it. Also, why not wear the bracelet? Do you ever intend to wear this watch outside of shorts/flip flops? If you’re ever going to pair it with a button down or any other type of more formal clothing you’ll want the bracelet.

I would say it’s about the same either way. Get what you want to wear. You’ll be shocked at how much that rubber strap and deployant clasp is 💸

I’ll say that I got it in rubber because of my other watches. I think the white dials looks best on rubber band. Don’t need a steel bracelet if I have other steel options (sub, DJ). Depends if you have other watches to complement

Heed this advice. Even if you don’t want it right this second, things change. You may move to a different climate. You may want the dressier approach of the bracelet for office wear. You may get bored and swapping to bracelet may scratch the new watch itch (temporarily).

I’ll give you 500$ for the speedy bracelet.

oh, that’s a different watch, but I do like the brown a lot with the silver bezel and blue hands

It was just an example. I would buy a strap and swap it out for the brown one.

Speedmaster is better for straps. People will say Seamaster is better for daily due to WR. But the Speedmaster has 50m water resistance, and according to Omega 50 meters means 50 meters.

I have the SMP, but I don't get the logic of SMP better then speedy for daily because of WR. I don't just happen to randomly dive on a wednesday on the way to the office. Even 10m WR for me would be sufficient lol

If you do some research, you’ll find the manufacturer’s stated water resistance is for static pressure. If you actually want to swim with a watch, it should probably have at least 50-100 m water resistance because forceful motion underwater add an immense amount of dynamic pressure equal to a much deeper depth than you are actually at. My Aqua Terra has 150m WR which is about the least I’m comfortable using in the pool or lake on a regular basis.

I prefer the WR rating for the Seamaster - it feels safer to me for such an expense - but, I’m a bit of a knuckle dragger at times that doesn’t really baby my stuff….

I love the SMP line, but for some reason the white dial just never does it for me. Every other colorway look fantastic imo. But that’s a subjective thing. Try em both on, don’t buy either and walk out the store. The first one that comes to mind when you leave is one you should buy.

Can't go wrong with either, but I'd take the seamaster since its a better daily piece and you don't have to worry about water etc with it.

I think I’m the only person who wouldn’t get a recent SMP/PO etc due to the superfluous helium escape valve. I just don’t like such a useless feature being so prominent on the watch. I’d go for one of the heritage SMPs or (though very different) an Aqua Terra all day. Edit: helium not hydrogen

White seamaster all the way. The white speedy is overhyped , this dial is actually work for me only with the limited pieces

From those speedy, I'd take speedy over almost all other watches.

Both great, but it is an unfair contest - speedmaster is better. I will likely acquire both, but IMHO the Moon Watch is the most aesthetically pleasing watch of all time, and this white dial speedmaster is the best white dial watch I have ever seen bar none - the contrast etc is just perfect. Again IMHO :) To answer your question, a speedmaster looks great on any strap (my favourite is brown or black leather though). The seamaster will be more limiting

Not a fan of the strap for the speedy in general. I think it looks best on leather or a bracelet. These colorways are my two favorite modern Omegas

Out of the two. White speedmaster! If there was an option for black seamaster. For sure black seamaster for daily and everyday with no hesitations. That white seamaster is not white if you closely at it. Dial looks like plastic and index look creamy, they look very gimmicky
