I put them on everything you’d put onion on, pizza, bagels, soups, salads, burgers, eggs, etc. Trick with chives though is their flavor is best when uncooked so always throw it on right before eating. Great way to add a little oniony punch to just about anything.
I actually didn’t know garlic chives were a thing until this year. I planted one this season and will hopefully reap the rewards for many years to come!
“If it brings flavor, than you shall bring it into thy recipe”
Alliums is alliums
ALL YUMS
Chives are my only plant that has survived anything. Even the great texas snow storm and the great ice storm. Literally the honeybager of plants
Yea this thing is a tank and conquers anything that gets thrown at it 😆 it’s even outcompeting the spearmint growing around it
I think ours is 5, I wish I knew more ways to use it. Literally only on my potatoes... lame I know
Try Chinese recipes.

Ours happens to be garlic chives! So they have a little extra yummy! I've not put them on a burger, I think I will! Thanks!

My friend makes chive vinegar by soaking the flowers in the vinegar and it makes the most gorgeous fuchsia colour and is great on salads
Yea I’m gonna try that tomorrow.
Sounds great, do you know what type of vinegar?
Probably just a white vinegar. If you soak red onions in white vinegar, you get that super bright pink color.
Yeah just White vinegar but you can get creative with it
I love how it's coexisting with a bed of mint
They’re both unstoppable forces of nature.
Alliums for all!
My chive plant is only on year three but looking good-it’s always one of the first things to come up in early spring!
Put the flowers in any vinegar and it gives an oniony flavor to them
The best sandwich spread is kewpie mayo blended with chives, garlic and black pepper. Absolute banger on a burger.
Oh hell yes this sounds great
Does it produce year round near tropical climates?
Good question I’m not sure
The chive is alive!
I’m just amazed they’re not overtaken by the mint
What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object
Ooh it looks so pretty
I jive with chive
