Hartenstein would be perfect. I know this sub has a bunch of Carter Jr fanboys but Hartenstein is better. WCJ could be a decent trade asset combined with picks for a wing.
WCJ shooting league average at only 3.1 attempts per game is not spacing us anyways. Not to mention he shot 28% in playoffs when we needed him the most. He is not a reliable stretch big and we shouldn’t pass on opportunities to improve our roster for his “3 point shooting”
I understand what you're saying but the key this off-season was to surround paolo w 3 point shooters. This doesn't check the box unless we drastically improve our 3 point shooting elsewhere.
We should always pursue any avenue to improve the team. As much as I hate Boston, their front office has done really well at continuously trying to improve every roster spot at the expense of moving on from quality players. I hope our FO isn’t afraid to do that now.
As far as 3 point shooting I expect Paolo to continue to improve, Wagner to have a bounce back year, Black showed glimpses at low volume so he could improve, Jett will get opportunities.
So I could definitely see the front office going for a combination with one of Russell, GTJr, or KCP and Hartenstein. Then look to add a wing shooter via WCJ trade. I would love a Finney-Smith swap with WCJ. They could need a center if Claxton leaves in free agency. Probably close to a fair trade. Maybe we have to add some sort of picks (Multiple 2nds or Denver pick)
This. He’s average at best at threes. He can’t rebound well. He’s not a rim protector. He’s an ok team defender but gets owned against larger centers because he’s so soft.
Why not atleast get a center who is really good at defending and rebounding? I’d rather have a center who’s good at what you want your center to be good at as opposed to having one who’s just ok at threes.
Genuine question: Does he box out enough so that other players can secure a rebound? I watched almost every game last season and can’t remember if he is making an impact in this way.
Every game I watch I see him get bullied for boards. He’s just never aggressive enough. Never in the right spot. I see the ball go through his hands all the time. Sometimes it just seems borderline unlucky. But whatever it is he’s just not grabbing them and giving us the extra possessions we severely needed.
He’s very average, in my opinion. I’d love to upgrade at the center spot.
WCJ fanboys? Man that guy camps the paint and clogs the lane anytime he touches the court. Hes just an odd man out in our offense due to his lack of offball skill. From positioning, being a roll man, shooting. Hes just poor off the ball
Naw, youre either a moron or an intentional asshole to misunderstand that one.
> im not sure why youre getting downvoted
I told ya why, now ill tell you why not: it wasnt because everyone else missed the "clever" point out.
Or did you think he was retiring? Have to be an intentional idiot to think that.
Give me a break 👍👍👌🤌
Do you wanna talk basketball or where to put a hyphen on re-signing?
Did you think he was retiring, or no? iTs aN iMpOrTaNt DiStInCtIOn.
You had me in the second half but the "hope this helps" snark has me asking what resigning means if its not retiring or re-signing.
Go Magic, may your air conditioner blow cool until October.
He goin nowhere. Knicks are trading mitch
Knicks don't have Bird rights on this guy, so they gotta have cap room to retain him. Do they?
Same situation as monk contact wise
Bring Mitch home?

Can't shoot the 3 though

Hartenstein would be a good fit. I also like the idea of exploring a trade with Utah for Kessler.
They’re saying he’s resigning
He's quitting? Or is he re-signing? There's a difference.
I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted.
For interjecting with semantics. I re-sign this argument.
It's fairly important semantic because things can get confusing really fast. I'm not normally a Grammer nazi but there are exceptions to every rule.

Good talk 👍

Retiring and resigning aren't the same thing. 😀 I hope this helps. It's the off-season, man. What do you want from me here? 🤣

You were confused?
they aren’t letting him go, he’s going to start and they are going to trade Mitch due to injury and “not fitting as well in the modern NBA”
Magic ain't gonna do shit lol. Nobody wants to go over there lol. They gonna do some bullshit signings
Or should we just draft Zach Edey?
