This show brings me a lot of joy in whatās a stressful time in my life right now so Iām gonna embrace it.

I love them so much! I wasn't a fan of the first three and was scared I wouldn't like season 2, but those two made me fall in love with the show again.
I didn't like the dark edge of the first three episodes. I'm all in for the tender side of the show. I love them more when they're cute idiots with absurd storylines.
Yes, also here re the violence. I did rewatch the two reunions but had to skip the violence. However, I may be able to rewatch that now as eps 4-5 show that the violence was not gratuitous and is leaving as many scars on the crew as on me as a viewer.
I feel weird and ill-at-ease when we're reminded that those are people who kill and rob innocents.
They're so cute that we tend to forgot they're all psychopaths š
Especially Stede. The more you think about it, the more you realize he's actually the worst one. It was made very obvious during those first two episodes. No remorse or empathy at all.
This is also an ethical problem for me. The swoon over fine things and naked chins is blotting out but the ethical problem is in Frenchie's box. It's not just about apologising to the crew; it's taking responsibility for murder. And Stede is actually starting to relish it. In S1 he was scared by the violence and had to be coached by Jim (not scared for ethica reasons, though, just self-preservation) but he is now enjoying shooting a gun and intimidating captives. Yes, development arc in the romance but so far none in terms of morals or social responsibility or humaneness

I rewatched within 2 hours and that only because I had another commitment. Otherwise I would just have hit that play button immediately. :)
