I think weight lifting and gym in general helped me to regulate my cycle

I think the general consensus is yes, it can be really helpful. But it’s not my favorite anymore because I put on muscle really quickly and don’t like how that makes me look (I’m 5 feet tall and when I lift I just look like a tiny football player lol) I personally prefer Pilates, yoga, body weight workouts, and cardio.

I put on muscle so fast too. It’s great but I definitely need to be careful with flys or I have to turn sideways to get my shoulders through doors,

I am super out of practice as I’m recovering from some life stuff. But I love lifting weights! It gives great structure and opportunities to track progress beyond weight loss. It’s not a guarantee you’ll lose weight though, some of the best body builders don’t have athletic physiques. But lifting leads you into the world of proteins, macros and calorie counting which, if you fulfil you macros and calories will help you lose weight. Just start slow and see if you enjoy it. There are lots of YouTube’s or I really liked Sally Easton’s Livefit for learning the gym (you can get the bodybuilding app for free and there’s lots of versions of it if you want to go the free route).

It can certainly help, but there’s not too much magic in one exercise modality over another when it comes to PCOS. consistent exercise of any type can help with some of the symptoms. weightlifting is great for building muscle and getting stronger, which has tons of benefits outside of PCOS (I can give more specifics if you’d like), but doesn’t do as much to work the cardiovascular system. As a PCOS girly myself (but NOT a doctor lol), I think a combo of weightlifting and light cardio works best for most people, PCOS or not. Doesn’t have to be a ton though; anything is better than nothing!

Yes! It helps me feel stronger which helps with my energy levels, but more importantly strength training is fantastic for treating insulin resistance

absolutely yes! but u need to be careful with food because weight lifting makes you hungry so just eat low carb & at least 100g of protein a day!

If lifting makes you hungry something is wrong with your diet. Low carb and lifting - absolutely not. You need the carbs (but high quality wholegrain ones, not to be confused with sugar) to fuel your workouts. Also, 100g of protein is nowhere near enough for a lifter. You need 1,6 - 2 grams per kg of body weight, per day.

For me it doesn’t help now but it will in the long run with bone density. I have a lot of muscle mass and I can add it on pretty easily so I don’t do too much weight.
